This manual provides helpful hints on how to use and maintain your LG air conditioner properly. Preventive care can save time and money. Troubleshooting tips are included to help resolve common problems.
Safety Precautions
To prevent injury to the user or other people and property damage, the following instructions must be followed. Incorrect operation due to ignoring instructions will cause harm or damage.

General Precautions
- Contact a service center for specific issues.
- The air conditioner is not intended for use by young children or invalids without supervision.
- Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the air conditioner.
- When the power cord is to be replaced, replacement work shall be performed by authorized personnel only using genuine replacement parts.
- Installation work must be performed in accordance with the National Electric Code by qualified and authorized personnel only.
Installation
General Installation Guidelines
⚠️ CAUTION: Install the product so the exhaust and noise are not aimed directly at neighbors. Be considerate. Otherwise, it may cause vibration or water leakage.
Follow installation instructions exactly.

⚠️ WARNING: USE OF EXTENSION CORDS. RISK OF FIRE could cause serious injury or death. DO NOT use an extension cord with this window air conditioner. DO NOT use surge protectors or multi-outlet adapters with this window air conditioner.
The power cord may include a current interrupter device with TEST and RESET buttons. Test periodically. If the TEST button does not trip or the RESET button does not stay engaged, discontinue use and contact a qualified service technician.
⚠️ WARNING: Never push the test button during operation. Otherwise, the plug can be damaged. Do not remove, modify, or immerse this plug. If the device trips, the cause should be corrected before further use.
⚠️ CAUTION: The conductors inside the cord are surrounded by shields. Periodically examine the cord for damage. Do not use if shields become exposed. Avoid shock hazard. This unit cannot be user-serviced. Do NOT open sealed portions. All warranties will be voided. This unit is not intended to be used as an ON/OFF switch.
Physical Installation Precautions
- ⚠️ CAUTION: Do not use a damaged power cord, plug, or loose socket. Otherwise, it may cause a fire or electrical shock.
- ⚠️ CAUTION: Do not disassemble or modify products. It may cause failure and electric shock.
- Always plug into a grounded outlet. Otherwise, it may cause a fire or electrical shock.
- Do not modify or extend the power cord length. It will cause electric shock or fire due to heat generation.
- Be cautious when unpacking and installing. Sharp edges may cause injury.
- Do not store flammables like gasoline, benzene, thinner, etc. near the air conditioner. It may cause explosion or fire.
GAS
- Be cautious not to touch sharp edges when installing. It may cause injury.
- Instead of running air conditioning constantly, open a window for fresh air occasionally.
- If battery liquid leaks onto skin or clothes, wash with clean water. Do not use the remote if the battery has leaked, as chemicals can cause burns or health hazards.
- Do not insert hands or bars through the air inlet or outlet during operation. Otherwise, it may cause personal injury.
- If battery liquid is ingested, brush teeth and see a doctor.
Grounding Instructions
IMPORTANT: FOR THE USER'S PERSONAL SAFETY, THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE PROPERLY GROUNDED. The power cord has a three-prong (grounding) plug. Use with a standard three-slot (grounding) wall outlet to minimize shock hazard. Have the wall receptacle and circuit checked by a qualified electrician to ensure proper grounding.
DO NOT CUT OR REMOVE THE THIRD (GROUND) PRONG FROM THE POWER PLUG.
A. TEMPORARY USE OF ADAPTER PLUGS: Discouraged due to safety hazards. If used, ensure it's UL-listed and the adapter's large slot aligns with the receptacle's large slot for proper polarity.
⚠️ CAUTION: Grounding the adapter to the receptacle cover screw does not guarantee grounding unless the screw is metal and the receptacle is grounded. Have the circuit checked by a qualified electrician. Disconnect the power cord from the adapter using one hand on each. Do NOT use with a broken adapter plug.
B. FREQUENT DISCONNECTION: Do not use an adapter plug if the appliance is disconnected often. The wall outlet should be replaced by a three-slot (grounding) outlet.

Operation Precautions
- Do not place heavy objects on the power cord or allow it to be pressed. This can cause electric shock or fire due to heat generation.
- Do not share the outlet with other appliances. This may cause a fire or electrical shock.
- Take the power plug out by the head, not the cable, and do not touch it with wet hands. There is a danger of fire or electric shock.
- Do not place the power cord near a heater. It may cause fire and electric shock.
- Unplug the unit if strange sounds, odors, or smoke appear. Otherwise, it may cause fire and electric shock.
- Fan usage does not correlate with oxygen depletion.
- Do not allow water to enter electric parts. This will cause machine failure or electric shock.
- Do not open the suction inlet grill during operation. This may cause electrical shock and failure.
- Turn off the power and breaker before cleaning the unit. The fan rotates at high speed during operation, posing an injury risk if accidentally triggered on.
- Unplug the unit when not using it for a long time to prevent accidental startup and injury.
Before Operation
Preparing for Operation
- Contact an installation specialist for installation.
- Plug in the power plug properly.
- Use a dedicated circuit.
- Do not use an extension cord.
- Do not start/stop operation by plugging/unplugging the power cord.
- If the cord/plug is damaged, replace it with an authorized replacement part.
Usage
- Being exposed to direct airflow for an extended period could be hazardous to your health.
- Fan usage does not correlate with oxygen depletion.
- Do not use this air conditioner for non-specified purposes (e.g., preserving precision devices, food, pets, plants, art objects). Such usage could damage items.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Do not touch metal parts when removing the filter. Sharp metal edges can cause injury.
- Do not use water to clean inside the air conditioner. Exposure to water can destroy insulation, leading to possible electric shock.
- Before cleaning, ensure the power and breaker are turned off. The fan rotates at high speed during operation; there is a risk of injury if the unit's power is accidentally triggered on while cleaning inner parts.
For inner cleaning, contact a Service Center. Do not use harsh detergents that cause corrosion or damage. Harsh detergents may also cause product failure, fire, or electric shock.

Features
Slinger Fan: This air conditioner is equipped with a slinger fan. The fan has an outer ring that runs in the water collected in the base pan if it gets deep. This condensate is then picked up by the fan and expelled through the condenser, making the air conditioner more efficient.

Window Requirements and Installation
Window Requirements
All supporting parts should be secured to firm wood, masonry, or metal.
- This unit is designed for installation in standard double hung windows with actual opening widths from 29" to 41".
- The top and bottom window sashes must open sufficiently to allow a clear vertical opening of 18" from the bottom of the upper sash to the window stool.
- The stool offset (height between the stool and sill) must be less than 1 1/4".

Preparation Of Chassis
- Remove 4 screws that fasten the cabinet at both sides and at the back. (Keep screws for later use.)
- Slide the unit from the cabinet by gripping the base pan handle and pulling forward while bracing the cabinet.
- Cut the window sash seal to the proper length. Peel off the backing and attach the Foam-PE (adhesive-backed) to the underside of the window sash.
- Insert the frame guides into the bottom of the cabinet.
- Insert the frame curtain into the upper guide and frame guides.
- Fasten the curtains to the unit with 10 Type A screws.

Cabinet Installation

- Open the window. Mark a line on the center of the window stool.
- Loosely attach the sill bracket to the support bracket using the carriage bolt and the lock nut.
- Attach the sill bracket to the window sill using screws (Type B). Carefully place the cabinet on the window stool and align the center mark on the bottom front with the center hole marked window stool.
- Using screw (Type D) and lock nut, attach the support bracket to the cabinet track hole. Use the first track hole after the sill bracket on the outer edge of the window sill. Tighten the carriage bolt and lock nut. Ensure the cabinet slants outward.
- Pull the bottom window sash down behind the top retainer bar until they meet.
- ⚠️ CAUTION: Do not drill a hole in the bottom pan. The unit is designed to operate with approximately 1/2" of water in the bottom pan.
- NOTICE: Do not pull the window sash down so tightly that the movement of the frame curtain is restricted. Attach the cabinet to the window stool by driving screws (Type B) through the cabinet into the window stool.
- The cabinet should be installed with a very slight tilt downward toward the outside.
- Pull each frame curtain fully to each window sash track, and pull the bottom window sash down behind the top retainer bar until it meets.
- Attach each frame curtain to the window sash using screws (Type C).
- Slide the unit into the cabinet.
- ⚠️ CAUTION: For security, reinstall screws (removed from cabinet) at the cabinet's sides.
- Cut the foam-strip (Not adhesive-backed) to the proper length and insert between the upper window sash and the lower window sash.
- Attach the Window locking bracket with a screw (Type C).
- Before installing the front grille, pull out the vent control lever located above the unit control knobs.
- Attach the front grille to the cabinet by inserting the tabs on the grille into the slots on the front of the cabinet. Push the grille in until it snaps into place.
- NOTICE: Guide the lever carefully through the grille as you push it in.
- Lift the inlet grille and secure it with a Type A screw through the front grille.
Window installation of the room air conditioner is now completed. Refer to ELECTRICAL DATA for attaching the power cord to the electrical outlet.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Do not drill holes in the product. Drilling holes can cause the air conditioner to not function properly.

Operation and Features
AUTO SWING
This button automatically controls the air flow direction.
CLEAN FILTER
?
The 'Clean Filter' LED will light up to notify you that your filter needs cleaning. After cleaning, press "Temp AV" together to turn off the 'Clean Filter' light. (Filter reset must be done from the unit control panel, not the remote control).
A slight heat odor may occur when first switching to HEAT after the cooling season. This odor, caused by dust particles on the heater, will dissipate quickly.
NOTICE: This feature reminds you to clean the Air Filter (See Maintenance) for more efficient operation. The LED illuminates after 250 hours of operation.
AUTO RESTART
If electric power fails during operation, the unit will resume its previous setting.
ENERGY SAVER
The unit defaults to Energy Saver mode each time it is switched on, except after an electrical power outage or when in fan mode.
Ventilation
The ventilation lever must be in the CLOSE position for optimal cooling. Set to OPEN for fresh air; this opens the damper and draws room air out.

Air Direction
Adjust the horizontal louver and vertical louver to control air direction.
HORIZONTAL AIR-DIRECTION CONTROL
Set the air-swing switch to ON for automatic horizontal air sweeping. Switch off at the desired vane position to stop movement.
VERTICAL AIR-DIRECTION CONTROL
Adjust the vertical air direction by moving the horizontal louver.
Additional Features
Slinger Fan: This feature uses a fan with an outer ring to pick up condensate water from the base pan and expel it through the condenser, increasing efficiency.
CAUTION: Be careful when inserting the drain pipe. Push away from sharp fin areas to avoid slipping and injury.
Remote Control
NOTICE: The remote controller may not function properly if strong light strikes the sensor or if there are obstacles between the remote and the air conditioner.
Inserting the Remote (Batteries Not Supplied)
- Push out the cover on the back of the remote control.
- Insert one new AAA 1.5V battery, paying attention to polarity.
- Reattach the cover.
NOTICE: Do not use rechargeable batteries. Ensure batteries are new. Do not mix battery types (alkaline, carbon-zinc, nickel-cadmium).
Remove batteries if the air conditioner will not be used for an extended period. Keep the remote away from extreme heat or humidity. Do not expose the remote sensor to direct sunlight for optimal operation.

Remote Control Buttons Explained:
- POWER ?: Starts and stops operation.
- OPERATION MODE SELECTOR ⚙️: Cycles through Energy Saver, Cool ❄️, Fan ?, Heat ☀️.
- Energy Saver: Fan stops when compressor is off; cycles on periodically to check room temp.
- Cool: Compressor cools the room. Use

and FAN buttons for temperature and fan speed. - Fan: Circulates air; compressor does not run. Use FAN button for fan speed.
- Heat: Heats the room.
- ON/OFF TIMER ⏰:
- Delay ON: Sets unit to turn on automatically (1-24 hours) at previous settings when off.
- Delay OFF: Sets unit to turn off automatically (1-24 hours) when on.
- FAN SPEED SELECTOR ?: Sets fan speed to Low (F1) or High (F2).
- TEMPERATURE CONTROL ?️: Sets desired temperature between 60°F-86°F (16°C~30°C).
Maintenance and Service
Air Filter
Check the air filter at least twice a month. Clean filters improve cooling capacity and prevent frost buildup.
- Lift the inlet grille upward.
- Remove the air filter by pulling it up slightly from the front grille.
- Wash the filter using lukewarm water below 40°C (104 °F).
- Gently shake off excess water and replace.

Cleaning The Air Conditioner
- The front grille and inlet grille can be wiped with a cloth dampened in a mild detergent solution.
- The cabinet can be washed with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water, then polished with liquid wax for appliances.
- To maintain peak efficiency, periodically check and clean condenser coils (outside of unit) if clogged with soot or dirt.
CAUTION: Be careful when inserting the drain pipe. Push away from the sharp fin area to avoid slipping and injuring yourself.
Normal Sounds and Troubleshooting
Normal Sound Descriptions
- High pitched Chatter: May occur with high efficiency compressors during cooling.
- Pinging or Swishing: Droplets of water hitting the condenser during normal operation.
- Sound of Rushing Air: Air movement from the fan at the front of the unit.
- Gurgle/Hiss: Refrigerant passing through the evaporator during normal operation.
Vibration
Unit may vibrate and make noise due to poor wall/window construction or incorrect installation.
Troubleshooting Guide
If you experience problems, review the following before calling for service.
