Brave 7 Camera Overview

- 1. Power/Shutter/OK Button: Used for turning the camera on/off, taking photos, and confirming selections.

Note: If the camera is in a waterproof case, sound will not be recorded.
Camera Interface and Controls
The camera features a touch screen interface with status indicators:
- Status Bar: Displays Mode (Mode/Režim), Recording/Photo Remaining (Doba nahrávání/Fotografie zůstatek), Audio Recording status (Nahrávání zvuku), Battery Status (Stav baterie ?), Memory Card status (Paměťová karta ?), and Settings access (Nastavení ⚙️).
Quick Menu: Swipe down from the top of the screen to access quick controls. This allows for quick screen locking or powering off the camera. Pressing the shutter button locks the screen.
Settings Menu: Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the main settings. This menu allows for adjustments to resolution, EIS, and other parameters. Swipe horizontally to scroll through options.
Screen Switching: Press and hold the Down button to switch between the front and rear screens. This can be done even while recording video. (Note: Front screen settings may have limited functionality compared to the touch screen.)
Modes and Settings
The AKASO Brave 7 offers various shooting modes and customizable settings:
Shooting Modes
- Video Mode: Default mode. Press the shutter to start recording, press again to pause. Use Up/Down buttons for zoom. (Note: No sound is recorded when using the waterproof case).
- Slow Motion: Activate by pressing the shutter.
- Time Lapse: Records video at set intervals, playing back faster than real-time. Does not record audio.
- Still Photo Mode: Press the shutter to capture photos at set intervals.
- Driving Mode: Connects via car cigarette lighter; automatically powers on/off with the car.
- Photo: Press the shutter to capture a single photo.
- Self-Timer: Set a delay between pressing the shutter and capturing the photo.
- Burst Photo: Captures a rapid sequence of photos, ideal for fast-moving subjects.
- Time Lapse Photo: Captures photos at intervals for later selection.
- Long Exposure: Uses a longer shutter speed for sharper subjects or to create motion blur.
Video Settings
- Resolution: 4K30, 2.7K30, 1080P60, 1080P30, 720P120, 720P60, 720P30. (Default: 4K30). High resolutions may cause the camera to heat up.
- Image Stabilization (EIS): On/Off. (Default: Off). Provides smoother footage for slow movements or steady shots.
- Video Encoding: H.264/H.265. (Default: H.264).
- Time Lapse Duration: Off, 3 min, 5 min, 7 min. (Default: Off).
- Slow Motion: 1080P90, 1080P60, 720P120, 720P60. (Default: 1080P90).
- Time Interval: 0.2s, 0.3s, 0.5s, 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, 30s, 1 min. (Default: 0.5s).
- Duration: Off, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 20 min, 30 min, 60 min. (Default: Off).
- Audio Recording: On/Off. (Default: Off).
Photo Settings
- Resolution: 20M, 16M, 12M, 10M, 8M, 5M. (Default: 20M).
- Self-Timer: 1s, 3s, 5s, 10s, 30s. (Default: 3s).
- Time Interval (Time Lapse Photo): 3s, 5s, 10s, 30s, 1 min. (Default: 3s).
- Time Lapse Duration: Off, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 20 min, 30 min, 60 min. (Default: Off).
- Burst Photo: 12M, 10M, 8M, 5M, 3M. (Default: 12M).
- Burst Photo Type: Set number of shots per second (3, 5, 10, 15).
- Scene: Auto, Light Painting. (Default: Auto).
- Output Format: JPEG, JPEG+DNG. (Default: JPEG).
- Exposure Value (EV): -2, -1, 0, +1, +2. (Default: 0).
- Exposure Time: Off, 2s, 5s, 10s, 30s, 60s. (Default: Off).
- White Balance: Auto, Wolfram, Fluorescent, Daylight, Cloudy, Sunrise. (Default: Auto).
- Meter: Center, Average, Spot. (Default: Average).
- Sharpness: Strong, Normal, Soft. (Default: Normal).
- Filter: Natural, B&W, Sepia, Retro, Vivid, Warm, Cool, Red, Green, Blue. (Default: Natural).
- Photo Quality: Fine, Normal, Economy. (Default: Fine).
System Settings
- Voice Control: On/Off. (Default: Off). Enables voice commands.
- Commands: AKASO Power Off, AKASO Video Start, AKASO Stop Video, AKASO Take Photo, AKASO Wifi On, AKASO Turn Off Wifi.
- Sound Settings: Adjust volume, enable/disable key tones, touch tones, and shoe tones.
- Distortion Calibration: On/Off. (Default: Off). Corrects lens distortion.
- Angle: 170°, 140°, 110°, 70°. (Default: 170°). Adjusts the field of view.
- Diving Mode: On/Off. (Default: Off). Compensates for underwater color loss.
- Remote Control: On/Off. (Default: Off). Enables connection to the remote.
- Wind Noise Reduction: On/Off. (Default: Off). Reduces wind noise during recording.
- Auto Low Light: On/Off. (Default: Off). Optimizes settings for low light.
- ISO: Auto, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200. (Default: Auto).
- WDR: On/Off. (Default: Off).
- Language: Select from English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese.
- Date Format: YYYY/MM/DD.
- Date Stamp: On/Off.
- Power Frequency: 50 Hz/60 Hz. (Default: 60 Hz).
- Format Card: Cancel/Confirm. Recommended for card maintenance.
- Reset: Cancel/Confirm. Resets camera to factory defaults.
- SD Card Capacity: View card capacity and free space.
- Version (About): View model and software version.
Note: Some functions cannot be used simultaneously. For example, Video Frame Rate >60fps conflicts with Image Stabilization, Auto Low Light conflicts with Image Stabilization, and Diving Mode conflicts with Filter and White Balance.
Connecting to the AKASO GO App
Download the AKASO GO app from Google Play or the Apple App Store to remotely control your camera. App features include live preview, recording control, playback, and file management.
Connection Method 1:
- Turn on the camera and enable Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi name and password will be displayed on the camera screen.
- Connect your smartphone to the camera's Wi-Fi network using the displayed password.
- Open the AKASO GO app, tap the "+" icon, and add your "Brave 7" camera. Select the live preview option.
- The camera will now be connected to the AKASO GO app.
Connection Method 2:
- Turn on the camera and enable Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi name and password will be displayed on the camera screen.
- Open the AKASO GO app, tap the "+" icon, and add your "Brave 7" camera.
- Enter the correct Wi-Fi name and password for your camera, then tap "Connect Camera".
- Allow your phone to connect to the camera's Wi-Fi network.
- The camera will now be connected to the AKASO GO app.
Playback and Deleting Content
Content can be played back on the camera, computer, TV, smartphone, or tablet. You can also insert the memory card directly into a computer or compatible TV.
Browsing Folders on Brave 7: Turn on the camera, tap the Album icon (?️) on the left side of the screen, and swipe to browse videos and photos.
Deleting Data from Brave 7:
- Enter the Album. If there is a large amount of data, browsing may be slow.
- Swipe through videos and photos.
- Tap the Delete icon (?️) on the screen, select the item(s) to delete, and tap Delete again.
- Confirm the deletion.
- Exit the Album by tapping the Back icon (↩️).
Deleting Content via AKASO GO App:
- Open the AKASO GO app and connect to your camera.
- Tap the playback icon and browse your recorded videos or photos.
- Select the videos or photos you wish to delete.
Uploading Content and Camera Maintenance
Uploading Content
To Computer: Use a card reader to transfer files from the memory card to your computer via USB. It is recommended to transfer files to your computer before deleting them from the card to free up space.
To Phone: Open the AKASO GO app, connect to the camera, tap the playback icon, select files, tap the "More" icon (⋮) in the top right corner, and choose "Download" (⬇️).
Note for iPhone/iPad: If downloads fail, go to Settings > Privacy > Photos, find AKASO GO, and select "Read and Write".
Camera Maintenance
To keep your camera in good condition:
- Gently shake or blow into the microphone port to remove any dust or debris that may affect audio quality.
- Clean the lens with a dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid inserting objects near the lens.
- Do not touch the lens with your fingers.
- Protect the camera from drops and impacts to prevent damage or breakage.
- Avoid using or storing the camera in high temperatures or direct sunlight.
Battery Life, Storage, and Handling
Maximum Battery Life
When the battery reaches 0%, the camera saves the current recording and powers off. To maximize battery life:
- Turn off wireless connections.
- Record videos at lower frame rates and resolutions.
- Use the screen saver function.
Battery Storage and Handling
The camera contains sensitive components, including the battery. Avoid exposing the camera to extreme temperatures (high or low) as this can shorten battery life or cause temporary malfunction. Avoid sudden changes in temperature and humidity, which can cause condensation.
- Do not dry the camera or battery with external heaters like microwaves or hair dryers.
- Keep the battery compartment dry. Water or liquid ingress is not covered by warranty.
- Do not store batteries with metal objects (coins, keys, jewelry) as this can cause a short circuit and fire hazard.
- Do not disassemble or tamper with the camera. Use it according to regulations to maintain warranty.
Warning: Do not drop, disassemble, open, crush, deform, puncture, microwave, incinerate, or paint the camera. Do not insert foreign objects into the battery compartment. If the camera or battery is damaged, do not use it. This includes damage from leaks or other physical harm, as it poses a fire hazard.
Remote Control
The remote control allows you to remotely check capture mode, recording status, battery status, and memory card status. To use it, enable the remote control setting on the camera and then press the power button on the remote. The remote will automatically pair with the camera.

- 1. Screen: Displays camera status.
- 2. Video/Photo Switch: Changes between video and photo modes.
- 3. Power Button: Turns the remote and camera on/off.
- 4. Micro USB Port: For charging the remote (?).
- 5. Shutter: Captures photos or starts/stops video recording.
Charging the Remote: Charge the remote control using a micro USB cable and a USB power adapter. The LED indicator will be blue while charging and will turn off when fully charged.
Mounting the Camera
Attach the camera to helmets, accessories, and equipment using the included mounts and accessories. Various mounting configurations are shown in diagrams, demonstrating how to connect the camera body with different mounts and adapters.
