Your Brave 7 LE
This section details the physical components of the camera.
Front and Side View
- 1 Shutter/Select Button: Used for taking photos or starting/stopping video recording.
- 2 Mode/Exit Button: Cycles through camera modes or exits menus.
- 3 Front Screen: A small display screen on the front of the camera.
- 4 Speaker: For audio output.
- 5 Micro HDMI Port: For connecting to external displays.
- 6 Micro USB Port: For charging and data transfer.
- 7 Lens: The primary lens for capturing images and video.
Top and Back View
- 8 Touch Screen: The main display for interacting with the camera.
- 9 Charging Indicator: Shows the charging status of the battery.
- 10 Working Indicator: Indicates when the camera is powered on or recording.
- 11 Power Button: Turns the camera on/off and activates Wi-Fi.
- 12 Tripod Hole: Standard screw mount for attaching to tripods.
- 13 Battery Door: Covers the battery compartment.
- 14 Memory Slot: For inserting a microSD card.
Note: The camera does not record sounds when it is inside the waterproof case.
Screen Interface
The camera's screen displays various information and controls:
- Status Bar: Shows Mode, Recording Time/Photos Remaining, Playback status, Battery Status, Audio Recording status, and Zoom Level.
- Main Display Area: Shows the live view from the lens.
- Controls: Zoom In (+), Zoom Out (-), and Settings icon.
The camera offers shortcut menus for adjusting settings like Resolution and Quality, with options including 4K30, 2.7K60, High, Middle, and Low.
Swipe Actions:
- Swipe from the top to the bottom of the screen to quickly turn off the screen or power off the camera.
- Swipe from left to right on the screen to turn the screen back on after it has been turned off.
Shooting Mode Menus:
Tap the current shooting mode area to access shortcut menus for Video and Photo modes. Available modes include:
- Video Modes: Normal, Loop Record, Time Lapse, Slow Motion, Fast Motion, Wi-Fi.
- Photo Modes: Single, Burst, Time Lapse, Self-Time, Long Exposure, Wi-Fi.
Switching Between Screens: Press and hold the Mode button to switch between the front screen and the touchscreen camera view. Note that this cannot be done while video is recording.
Getting Started
Welcome to your AKASO Brave 7 LE. To begin capturing videos and photos, you will need a memory card (sold separately).
Memory Cards
Use brand name memory cards that meet these requirements:
- U3 speed class
- Capacity up to 64GB
Notes:
- Format the memory card in the camera before first use. Regular reformatting helps maintain card condition but erases all content; back up files before reformatting.
- FAT32 format cards will stop recording when a file reaches 4GB and will start a new file.
Powering On and Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds. The camera will beep, and the status light will turn on.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds. The camera will beep, and the status light will turn off.
Switching Mode
Turn on the camera, then press the Mode button or swipe across the screen to change between video and photo modes. Additional shooting modes are accessible via the shortcut menu.
Turning On and Off Wi-Fi
Press the Power button to turn Wi-Fi on, and press it again to turn Wi-Fi off.
Overview of Modes
The camera features five primary modes:
- Video Mode: The default mode upon turning on the camera. Press the Shutter button to start recording video and again to stop. Use the Zoom icon to adjust zoom level. (Note: No sound is recorded in waterproof case).
- Photo Mode: Switch to this mode by pressing the Mode button or swiping. Press the Shutter button to take photos. Use the Zoom icon to adjust zoom level.
- Playback Mode: Enter by tapping the Playback icon on the screen, or by pressing the Mode button twice then the Shutter button. This mode allows you to view recorded files.
- Video Setup Mode: Access by pressing the Mode button three times, then the Shutter button or tapping the Video Setup icon. Here you can adjust video settings.
- Photo Setup Mode: Access by pressing the Mode button four times, then the Shutter button or tapping the Photo Setup icon. Here you can adjust photo settings.
Customizing Your Brave 7 LE
Video Shortcut Menu
- Normal Video: Default setting.
- Loop Record: Options for 1 Min/3 Min/5 Min. Allows continuous recording by overwriting the oldest files when the memory card is full.
- Time Lapse: Options for 1 Sec/3 Sec/5 Sec/10 Sec/30 Sec/1 Min intervals. Records videos from frame rates captured at specific intervals. (Note: Captured without audio).
- Time Lapse Duration: Options for Unlimited/5 Min/10 Min/15 Min/20 Min/30 Min/60 Min. Sets the total duration for timelapse videos.
- Slow Motion: Records video in slow motion.
- Fast Motion: Options for 2x/4x/6x/10x/15x speed. Creates an effect of faster motion by filming at a slower speed and playing back at normal speed.
Photo Shortcut Menu
- Single Photo: Default setting.
- Burst Photo: Options for 3 shots/7 shots/15 shots/30 shots. Captures multiple photos in quick succession, ideal for fast-moving subjects.
- Time Lapse: Options for 3 Sec/5 Sec/10 Sec/30 Sec/1 Min intervals. Captures a series of photos at specified intervals.
- Time Lapse Duration: Options for Unlimited/5 Min/10 Min/15 Min/20 Min/30 Min/60 Min. Sets the total duration for timelapse photos.
- Self-Time: Options for Delay 2s/Delay 5s/Delay 10s. Provides a delay between pressing the shutter and the photo being taken.
- Long Exposure: Options for 1 Sec/2 Sec/5 Sec/8 Sec/30 Sec/60 Sec. Uses a long shutter speed to capture stationary elements sharply while blurring moving elements.
Video Setup
- Video Resolution: Options include 4K30fps, 2.7K60fps, 2.7K30fps, 1080P120fps, 1080P60fps, 1080P30fps, 720P240fps, 720P120fps, 720P60fps. Default is 4K30FPS. Note: High resolutions or frame rates may cause the camera to become warm and consume more power, especially in warm ambient temperatures.
- Voice Record: Off/On. Default is On.
- Image Stabilization: Off/On. Default is Off. Adjusts footage to offset motion for smoother results, particularly in activities like cycling or motorcycling. Note: Not available for 1080P120fps, 720P240fps, and 720P120fps resolutions.
- Video Quality: High/Middle/Low. Default is Middle.
- Wind Noise Reduction: Off/On. Default is Off. Helps to lower wind noise.
- Auto Low Light: Off/On. Default is Off. Automatically adjusts settings for optimal low-light performance. Notes: 1. Not available for 30fps videos. 2. Cannot be enabled simultaneously with Image Stabilization.
- EV (Exposure Value): Options from -2.0 to +2.0. Default is 0. Adjusts exposure prioritization for specific areas of the image.
- Metering: Center/Multi. Default is Multi. Determines how the camera measures exposure.
- Date Stamp: Off/Date/Date&Time. Default is Date&Time. Adds a date stamp to videos and photos.
Photo Setup
- Photo Resolution: Options from 20MP down to 2MP. Default is 20MP.
- Image Quality: High/Middle/Low. Default is High.
- ISO: Auto/100/200/400/800/1600/3200. Default is Auto. ISO affects sensitivity to light, balancing brightness and image noise.
- EV (Exposure Value): Options from -2.0 to +2.0. Default is 0.
- Metering: Center/Multi. Default is Multi.
- Date Stamp: Off/Date/Date&Time. Default is Date&Time.
Camera Settings
- Sounds: Options for Shutter, Boot-up, Beep, and Volume adjustments.
- Angle: Super Wide/Wide/Medium/Narrow. Default is Super Wide. Determines the field of view captured by the lens.
- Diving Mode: Off/On. Default is Off. Compensates for lack of red light in underwater scenes, optimized for tropical and blue water between 10 and 80 feet.
- Effect: Normal/BW/Natural/Negative/Warm/Brightness Contrast. Default is Normal.
- Distortion Calibration: Off/On. Default is Off. Corrects image distortion.
- Driving Mode: Off/On. Default is Off. Automatically turns the camera on/off when connected to a car's cigarette lighter and the car's ignition is started/stopped.
- Upside Down: Off/On. Default is Off. Orients video or photos to prevent upside-down footage.
- Screen Saver: Off/1 Min/3 Min/5 Min. Default is 1 Min. Turns off the display after a period of inactivity to save battery.
- Auto Power Off: Off/1 Min/3 Min/5 Min. Default is 3 Min. Powers off the camera after a period of inactivity to save battery.
- Power Frequency: 50Hz/60Hz. Default is 50Hz.
- White Balance: Auto/Daylight/Shade/Tungsten Light/White Fluorescent. Default is Auto. Adjusts color temperature for different lighting conditions.
System Settings
- Date&Time: Set in MM/DD/YY format.
- Language: Options include English, Deutsch, Français, Italiano, Español, Português, 日本語. Default is English.
- Format Card: Yes/No. Default is No. Formats the memory card.
- System: Access Factory Reset, System Info, or Card Info.
- Factory Reset: Yes/No. Default is No. Resets all settings to their default values.
System Info: Displays the camera's model and firmware version.
Card Info: Shows the memory card's capacity and remaining space.
Note: Some functions cannot be used simultaneously. Refer to the table below for compatibility:

Connecting to the App
Download and install the AKASO GO App from the App Store or Google Play. The app allows remote control, live preview, playback, and downloads via smartphone or tablet.
- Turn on the camera and press the Power button to activate Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi name and password will appear on the camera screen.
- On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings, find the camera's Wi-Fi network, and connect using the password 1234567890.
- Open the AKASO GO app, tap "Device" → "Add device", and select "Brave 7 LE".
- Tick "The above operation has been confirmed" and click "Live Preview" to connect your camera to the app.
The app interface shows a list of cameras to select from, including "Brave 7 LE". Once connected, a "Brave 7 LE" screen displays connection status and a "LIVE PREVIEW" button.
Playing Back Your Content
You can playback your content on the camera, computer, TV, smartphone, or tablet. Inserting the memory card directly into a compatible device also allows playback.
Note: For playback on a computer, transfer files from the camera to the computer first. This also frees up space on your memory card.
Viewing Files on Your Brave 7 LE
Turn on the camera and tap the Playback button on the left side of the screen to enter Playback Mode. Swipe across the screen to scroll through video or photo files.
The playback interface on a smartphone shows video controls and options like "Video", "Timelapse", "Cycle", "Re", and buttons for "Photo" and "Video".
Deleting Your Content
Deleting Files on Your Brave 7 LE
- Enter Playback mode. Loading content may take a minute if the memory card is full.
- Swipe to scroll through video or photo files.
- Tap the Delete icon, select the files you wish to delete, and tap the delete icon again.
- Confirm the deletion of selected files or all files.
- Tap the Return icon or press the Mode button to exit Playback mode.
Deleting Files on AKASO GO App
- Open the AKASO GO App and connect the camera.
- Tap the Playback icon to view all videos and photos.
- Select the desired photo or video, tap the More icon (top right corner), and choose Delete.
Offloading Your Content
Offloading Your Content to A Computer
Use a card reader (sold separately) connected to your computer via USB. Insert the memory card to transfer files or delete selected files using a file explorer.
Offloading Your Content to A Smartphone
- Open the AKASO GO App and connect the camera.
- Tap the Playback icon to view all videos and photos.
- Select the photo or video to download, tap the More icon (top right corner), and choose Download.
Note for iPhone Users: If you encounter issues offloading videos or photos to an iPhone, navigate to Settings → Privacy → Photos, find "AKASO GO", and select "All Photos".
Maintaining Your Camera
Follow these guidelines for optimal camera performance:
- For best audio, gently shake the camera or blow on the microphone holes to remove debris.
- Clean the lens with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not insert foreign objects near the lens.
- Avoid touching the lens with your fingers.
- Keep the camera away from drops, bumps, high temperatures, and strong sunshine to prevent damage.
Maximizing Battery Life
If the battery reaches 0% during recording, the camera will save the file and power off. To extend battery life:
- Turn off Wireless Connections.
- Capture video at lower frame rates and resolutions.
- Use the Screen Saver setting.
Battery Storage and Handling
The camera contains sensitive components, including the battery. Avoid exposing the camera to extreme cold or hot temperatures, as this can temporarily shorten battery life or affect performance. Avoid rapid changes in temperature or humidity, which can cause condensation.
- Do not dry the camera or battery with external heat sources like microwaves or hair dryers. Damage from liquid contact inside the camera is not covered by warranty.
- Do not store the battery with metal objects (coins, keys, necklaces) as this can cause a fire.
- Do not make unauthorized alterations to the camera, as this may compromise safety, compliance, performance, and void the warranty.
WARNING: Do not drop, disassemble, open, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred, microwave, incinerate, or paint the camera or battery. Do not insert foreign objects into the battery opening. Do not use a damaged camera or battery. Disassembling or puncturing the battery can cause an explosion or fire.
Remote Control
The remote control features a Photo Button (red) and a Video Button (grey). It is splashproof but not waterproof.
Video Operations
- To Start Recording: Ensure the camera is in Video mode, then press the grey Video Button. The camera will beep once, and the light will flash during recording.
- To Stop Recording: Press the grey Video Button again. The camera will beep once, and the light will stop flashing.
Photo Operations
- To Take a Photo: Ensure the camera is in Photo mode, then press the red Photo Button. You will hear a camera shutter sound.
- To Take a Burst Photo Series: Ensure the camera is in Burst Photo mode, then press the red Photo Button. You will hear a camera shutter sound.
- To Take a Time Lapse Photo: Ensure Continuous Lapse is ON and the camera is in Time Lapse Mode. Press the red Photo Button. The camera will initiate a countdown and emit a shutter sound for each photo taken.
CR2032 Battery Replacement for Brave 7 LE Remote
Follow these steps to replace the battery in the remote control:
- Use a 1.8mm Phillips tip screwdriver to remove the four screws on the back cover of the remote.
- Remove the four screws securing the PCB board.
- Lift the PCB board and slide out the old battery. Note: Do NOT rotate the PCB board to avoid reversing camera and video button functions.
- Install the new CR2032 battery with the "+" pole facing up.
- Reinstall the four screws onto the PCB board.
- Reinstall the four screws back into the cover.

Attach your camera to helmets, gear, and equipment.
Waterproof Case Operation
To Open: Follow the sequence of diagrams showing the unlatching of the waterproof case. The diagrams illustrate releasing the clips to open the case.
To Close: Follow the sequence of diagrams showing the closing of the waterproof case. The diagrams illustrate aligning and securing the clips.
Note: Push firmly to ensure there is no gap between the waterproof strips of the case for a proper seal.
