Assembly & Installation
Follow these steps to successfully assemble and install your new dehumidifier.
- Unpack Box: Remove all components from the packaging.
- Register Warranty: Visit ThermaStor.com/registration to register your product.
- Check Parts: Verify you have all the following parts:
- Dehumidifier (1)
- Leveling Feet (4)
- Drain Hose (1)
- Drain Adapter (1) (3/4" NPT PVC to 5/8" Hose Barb)
- Filter (1) (1" x 12" x 14")
Note: Quest dehumidifiers can operate without additional accessories, but depending on installation, extra parts might be required. Refer to Step 13 for details.
Step 4: Read all remaining steps and warnings before continuing.
Step 5: Decide Where to Place Unit in the Room
⚠️ WARNING: Do not block the airflow inlet. The outlet must be at least 61 cm (2 feet) from walls and obstructions to ensure proper airflow and performance.
⚠️ WARNING: The unit uses flammable A2L refrigerant. Refer to the manual for handling instructions and comply with national regulations.
Step 6: Choose Placement: Floor or Hanging
⚠️ WARNING: Internal stops limit leveling feet height. Do not overtighten.
A. If placing on floor: Attach leveling feet to the bottom of the dehumidifier. A height of approximately 10.16 cm (4 inches) off the ground is recommended. See manual for details.
B. If hanging dehumidifier: Use 2 brackets per unit. Brackets are sold separately. (Diagram shows an example hanging option with brackets attached to the unit.)
Setup & Connection
Step 7: Drain Setup
Insert the drain adapter and attach the drain hose to the primary drain port, located lower and nearest to the power cord. You can use the provided hose or install PVC piping to route water.
Step 8: Install Overflow Protection (Optional)
Install a normally-closed float switch to the secondary drain port for overflow protection. See manual for details.
Step 9: Output to Drain or Bucket
Route the drain hose to a suitable drain or collection bucket. See manual for more details.
Step 10: Verify Electrical Outlet
Ensure the wall outlet provides the correct voltage and amperage for the unit.
Step 11: Plug In Unit
Connect the unit to a dedicated 15 Amp circuit.

A. Setting Humidity: Use the up and down arrows on the control board to set the desired relative humidity. 50% is recommended.
B. Terminal Control: Press and release the terminal control button. The light will turn off when terminal control is active, disabling the internal RH sensor for external control use.
Control Board Functions:
- Defrost Light: Illuminates when ice is detected on coils, indicating defrosting is occurring due to cold temperatures or dry conditions.
- Terminal Control: Activates when an external control is used to manage RH. The internal RH sensor is disabled.
- Filter Reset: The button illuminates after 2,000 hours of fan operation, signaling that the filter needs changing.
- Fan: Pressing the Fan button cycles between two modes: 'Auto' (fan runs during dehumidifying) and 'On' (fan runs continuously for air circulation).
- Dark Mode: Pressing this button turns off all control lighting. The lighting remains off until any button is pressed, then stays lit for 10 seconds after the last button push. Pressing Dark Mode again while lights are on turns off Dark Mode.
C. External Controls: For external control, you can use any 24v controller or order compatible accessories as listed in Step 13.
