The dehumidifier is built using tested engineering principles and has passed rigorous quality inspections.
Safety Instructions
- The device is designed for indoor use in spaces protected from rain and flooding.
- Ensure adequate space for maintenance and service access to back or side panels; do not install with service panels inaccessible.
- Avoid directing discharge air at people or over water in pool areas.
- If used near water (pool, spa), ensure the unit cannot fall in, be splashed, and is plugged into a Ground Fault Interrupt (GFI) protected circuit.
- Do not use the device as a bench or table.
- Do not place the device directly on structural members; use vibration isolation to minimize noise and vibration.
- A drain pan is required under the unit if installed above a living area or where leakage could cause damage.
- Never operate a unit with a damaged power cord. It must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person.
- Electrical connections must comply with the current edition of the NEC ANSI/NFPA 70 and applicable national/local codes.
- Maintain a 3 ft (1m) clearance around the air intake and exhaust to prevent obstruction.

Read Remaining Steps and Warnings
Decide Where to Place Unit in Room
[Warning] Do not block airflow inlet. Outlet must be at least 12 inches from walls and other obstructions.
[Warning] Risk of fire due to flammable A2L refrigerant used. See manual for handling instructions and follow national regulations.
Push Lever to Extend Handle
The push lever, located beneath the handle, extends it to 50" for easy transport, including on stairs.
Transport Ready
With the handle extended, the Quest Hi-E Dry 140 is ready for transport. It is designed as a dolly for air movers; stack F9 or F10 fans for convenient mobility.
Verify Wall Outlet
Ensure the wall outlet has the correct voltage and amperage.
Plug in Dehumidifier
The unit will enter "STAND BY" mode.
Attach Drain Hose
Attach one end of the condensate hose to the drain adapter plug (under the storage pocket lid) and the other end to a drain, bucket, or sink.

Press the Power Button
Upon powering on, a light bar above the display illuminates for 1 second, then turns off. The compressor activates 60 seconds after selecting the Power button.
The dashboard displays:
- Top Section: Inlet Conditions (Temperature, Humidity, Grains per Pound)
- Middle Section: Exiting Conditions (Temperature, Humidity, Grains per Pound)
- Bottom Left: Current humidity set point (default: 50%)
- Bottom Right: Run time since last power-up (top); lifetime usage in hours (bottom)
Change Humidity Setpoint
Press the NEXT arrow button 10 times, or until the Humidity Setpoint screen appears. Press the UP arrow to increase the setpoint; press both arrow buttons simultaneously to decrease it.
From any screen, touch the droplet button [?] to return to the dashboard.
Note: Dark Mode is default. The screen darkens after 10 minutes. Press any button to re-illuminate.
Fold Handle for Storage
Push down on the handle to unlock, and fold it back down for compact use and storage.
After Dehumidification
Follow these steps when finished with your dehumidifier:
Press the "POWER" Button
Press the "POWER" button. Wait for the "POWERING DOWN" timer to complete. This allows the blower to remove water from the coils and warm them up to prevent condensation.
Important: A final purge occurs at the end of the power-down cycle.
(Display shows: POWERING DOWN, System shutdown in 0:47, with POWER, PURGE, NEXT, SET buttons)
Unit Enters "STAND BY" Mode
Once in "STAND BY" mode, unplug the dehumidifier and disconnect the condensate hose.
Storage
Store the condensate hose back in the storage pocket at the top of the dehumidifier.

WHO IS COVERED: This warranty extends only to the original end-user of the Quest Hi-E Dry 140 dehumidifier and may not be assigned or transferred.
FIRST YEAR WARRANTY: Therma-Stor LLC warrants that for one (1) year, the Quest Hi-E Dry 140 dehumidifier will operate free from defects in materials and workmanship. Therma-Stor LLC will, at its option, repair or replace defective part(s) free of charge.
SECOND THROUGH FIFTH YEAR WARRANTY: Therma-Stor LLC warrants that for five (5) years, the condenser, evaporator, and compressor will operate free from defects in material or workmanship. Therma-Stor LLC will, at its option, repair or replace defective part(s), provided all labor and transportation charges are borne by the end-user.
END-USER RESPONSIBILITIES: Warranty service must be performed by an authorized Therma-Stor LLC Servicer. If an authorized Servicer cannot be located, contact Therma-Stor LLC Service Department for assistance. Service will be performed during normal working hours. Proof of purchase (lease) must be presented upon request. The end-user is responsible for normal care. This warranty does not cover defects resulting from misuse, abuse, lack of normal care, corrosion, freezing, tampering, modification, unauthorized/improper repair or installation, accident, acts of nature, or causes beyond Therma-Stor LLC's control.
LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS: Replacement parts are warranted only for the remainder of the original warranty period. All implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, expire upon the expiration of the written warranty. Therma-Stor LLC is not liable for oral warranties. Therma-Stor LLC is not liable for special, indirect, or consequential damages, including water damage, lost profits, or loss of use, regardless of legal theory. Some states may not allow limitations on implied warranty duration or consequential damages.
