Product Overview and Lens Options
The DigiSense series includes PIR and QUAD detectors designed for security applications. Available models are RK415PR and RK415PQ. These detectors support various lens types:
- Wide Angle Lens: Offers broad coverage.
- Corridor Lens (LLPL02): Designed for long, narrow areas. Typical range: 2.5m (8'2.4").
- Curtain Lens (LLPL03): Creates a narrow detection beam. Typical range: 1.5m (Typical).
Both RK415PR and RK415PQ models typically use a Wide Angle lens with a range of 2m-3m (6'7"-8'10").
Detection Pattern Descriptions
RK415PR/RK415PQ Wide Angle Lens: The detection pattern shows a wide horizontal coverage (up to 90 degrees) and a detection range extending up to 10 meters. The side view illustrates detection coverage from ground level up to approximately 15 meters in height.
RK415PR Corridor Lens (LLPL02): This lens provides a focused, long-range detection pattern suitable for corridors. The top view indicates a narrow horizontal coverage, and the side view shows detection up to 15 meters in range.
RK415PR Curtain Lens (LLPL03): This lens creates a narrow, curtain-like detection beam. The top view shows a focused horizontal coverage, and the side view illustrates detection up to 15 meters in range.
Mounting
The detectors can be mounted using various methods:
- Wall Mounting: Standard installation on a flat wall surface.
- Corner Mounting: Installation in a corner for optimized coverage.
- Swivel Mounting: Allows for adjustable positioning on walls or ceilings.
Swivel Mounting Procedure:
- Remove the knockout plugs for the swivel mount and cable entry from the detector's base.
- If necessary, remove knockout plugs for cable entry from the swivel itself.
- Attach the swivel to the desired location on the wall or ceiling.
- Secure the detector base to the swivel using the provided plastic washer and screw.
- Feed the cables into the detector base.
Terminal Wiring
The detector features a terminal block for connections:
- 12VDC: Power supply input (9-16 VDC).
- ALARM: Normally Closed (NC) dry contact switch for alarm signals.
- TAMPER: Normally Closed (NC) dry contact switch for tamper detection.
- LED: Input for controlling the LED indicator. The LED is enabled when this terminal is not connected or receives 12VDC. It is disabled when GND is applied.
Note: EOL (End-of-Line) resistors can be configured for ALARM and TAMPER circuits using jumpers, with options for 1K, 2.2K, 4.7K, 5.6K, or 6.8K Ohm resistors, or no resistor.
Jumper Settings
Jumper settings configure the detector's pulse count and LED behavior:
Pulse Settings:
- Pulse 1: Single pulse output.
- Pulse 2: Double pulse output.
- Pulse 3: Triple pulse output.
Important Note: For corridor (LLPL02) and curtain (LLPL03) lenses, only use the 1-pulse setting.
LED Enable/Disable:
A dedicated jumper controls the LED indicator's functionality.
LED Display
The RED LED on the detector indicates an ALARM event.
Walk Test
Perform a walk test to ensure proper operation:
- After applying power and allowing a 2-3 minute warm-up period, walk through the entire protected area.
- Verify that the detector activates correctly throughout the coverage zone.
Replacing Lenses
The detector's lens is secured by four clips on the front cover.
- From the inside of the cover, push each of the four clips.
- Lift the lens off the cover from the outside.
- Select the new lens, ensuring the longest pin points upwards.
- Align two clips on one side of the lens with the corresponding holes in the cover and push until they click into place.
- Repeat step 4 for the remaining two clips on the other side.
- Confirm all four clips are securely holding the lens and cover.
