Swiss Side is recalling bicycle wheels from the HADRON² and HADRON³ model series. These wheels were manufactured by their production partner, DT Swiss. DT Swiss will manage this recall directly with affected customers, including all further communication.
AFFECTED PRODUCTS
Affected products are bicycle wheels from the following model series delivered from August 1, 2024:
- HADRON² All-Road
- HADRON² All-Road Ultimate
- HADRON² Classic 500
- HADRON² Ultimate 500
- HADRON³ Classic 550
- HADRON³ Classic 650
These products were sold either as parts of complete bicycles or as individual components through online or specialist retail channels. This product safety recall exclusively affects bicycle wheels where the carbon composite rims (colloquially known as carbon rims) were produced in Vietnam.
PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION
This product safety recall only applies to bicycle wheels with a DT Swiss ID number starting from 2740000. Not all products with a DT Swiss ID number from 2740000 are necessarily affected by this recall. Therefore, checking with the DT Swiss ID number is necessary to determine if the product is subject to this recall.
Please check if your product is affected by the product safety recall using your DT Swiss ID number on the specially set up website:
https://www.dtswiss.com/de/recall
Where to find the DT Swiss ID on your product:
The DT Swiss ID sticker can be found in three different positions on the rim:
- The sticker is located between the spokes.
- The sticker is located on the rim tape.
- The sticker is located in the rim bed.
If the stickers with the DT Swiss ID number are no longer found in the positions shown above, or have become illegible due to wear or age, you can also send the rim serial number located under the rim tape to the email address recall@dtswiss.com. With this number, the DT Swiss team can check via a manual search whether your product is affected by the product safety recall.

WHY IS THE PRODUCT DANGEROUS?
Analysis of reported incidents related to DT Swiss ERC series bicycle wheels has shown that spontaneous delaminations (i.e., separation of the outermost carbon layers) can occur in the rim flange area. The rim bed is not affected by this delamination, but it also sustains damage due to the structural weakening. This form of delamination leads to significant structural weakening, potentially resulting in total rim failure.
The described product defect increases the risk of an accident, which can lead to property damage, severe injuries, or even death.
A potential risk exists for rims of all the above-mentioned model series manufactured in the same production facility in Vietnam from August 1, 2024.

WHAT TO DO?
Please stop using the products from the mentioned model series immediately.
Please check on the website https://www.dtswiss.com/de/recall using your DT Swiss ID number whether your product is affected by the product safety recall. You can find corresponding step-by-step instructions on the website. Please note the following: In the case of purchasing a complete bicycle, both the front and rear bicycle wheels may be affected. If you are unable to perform this check, please contact recall@dtswiss.com or one of the phone numbers listed below.
If your product is identified as affected, please share your contact details with DT Swiss via a corresponding form to register the product for this product safety recall. After registration, DT Swiss will contact you promptly via email to start the recall process. Since not all products of the mentioned model series actually suffer from a product defect, DT Swiss will check all returned products using a quality test developed for this product safety recall to identify the faulty products. With this quality test, DT Swiss establishes internal requirements that exceed the specifications of the relevant industry standard (ISO 4210 series). Only products that meet these strict internal requirements will be declared safe, marked accordingly, and their serial number added to a whitelist to be returned after release.
The DT Swiss team is working diligently to complete the checks promptly and identify the defective products.
Your participation in the product safety recall is urgently requested, as product safety is the top priority for the brand. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused in this regard and ask for your understanding.
New information regarding this recall will be regularly published on the website https://www.dtswiss.com/de/recall.
