Consumer Drones and Goggles Compatibility Information

Compatible Devices and Firmware Version Requirements

This compatibility information does not apply to DJI Avata™ 2. For information on the use of DJI Avata 2 with the goggles, visit www.dji.com/avata-2/downloads and read the documentation.

The following consumer drones can be used with DJI goggles and remote control devices, providing a first-person view and convenient flight control experience.

⚠ When using the above aircrafts with the goggles, only one remote control device is supported for flight control.

Firmware Update

Update the firmware of the aircraft, goggles, and remote control device to the latest version before using for the first time. Otherwise, the devices cannot be linked.

1. Updating the Aircraft and the Original Remote Controller

Link the aircraft with its original remote controller and run DJI Fly. Follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware. Note that you cannot update the firmware if the remote controller is not linked to the aircraft. An internet connection is required.

2. Updating the Goggles and the Motion Controller (If Available)

⚠ Make sure the aircraft is powered off while updating the goggles and motion controller (if available) to avoid interference.

Power on the goggles and motion controller (if available), connect the USB-C port of the goggles to a mobile device, run DJI Fly, and select Profile > Device Management. Locate the corresponding goggles. Select Firmware Update and follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware. Make sure the mobile device is connected to the internet during the update.

Alternatively, the DJI Assistant 2 (Consumer Drone Series) software can be used on a computer to update the firmware of the devices separately.

If using a non-touchscreen remote controller with the goggles and aircraft, make sure to update the DJI Fly app on your mobile device to the latest version.

Linking

Preparation before linking:

1. Power on the aircraft, goggles, and remote control device (motion controller or remote controller). Power on the aircraft, the goggles, and the remote control device before linking. Make sure the devices are within 0.5 m of each other during linking. Make sure the devices are updated to the latest firmware version and have enough battery level.
2. ⚠ The aircraft can be controlled with only one remote control device during flight. If the aircraft has been linked with multiple remote control devices, turn off other remote control devices before linking.
3. Open the goggles menu. Select Status and make sure that the aircraft model displayed at the top of the menu is correct. Otherwise, select Switch from the upper right corner of the menu and then select the correct aircraft.

Linking via the DJI Fly App (recommended)

Keep the goggles connected to the mobile device after activation. Tap Connection Guide on DJI Fly from the mobile device and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the aircraft.

Linking via Button

If using the combination of aircraft, goggles, and motion controller, follow the instructions below to link the aircraft with the goggles, and link the goggles with the motion controller.

If using the combination of aircraft, goggles, and remote controller, note that as the aircraft has already been linked with the remote controller, you only need to link the aircraft with the goggles.

Link the aircraft with the goggles:

• a) Press and hold the power button on the aircraft for approximately 5 seconds until the battery level LEDs start to blink in sequence.
• b) Press and hold the power button on the goggles for approximately 5 seconds until the goggles start to beep continuously and the battery level LEDs start to blink in sequence.
• c) Once linking is completed, the battery level LEDs of the aircraft display the battery level, the goggles stop beeping, and image transmission can be displayed normally.

Link the goggles with the motion controller:

• a) Press and hold the power button on the goggles for approximately 5 seconds until the goggles start to beep continuously and the battery level LEDs start to blink in sequence.
• b) Press and hold the power button on the motion controller for approximately 5 seconds until it starts to beep continuously and the battery level LEDs start to blink in sequence.
• c) Once linking is completed, the goggles and the motion controller stop beeping and the battery level LEDs display the battery level.

Function Compatibility Information

When using the aircraft with goggles, refer to the following table for function compatibility information.

⚠ When using QuickTransfer, make sure that the goggles are not connected to the mobile device.

To ensure flight safety, use the following combinations correctly, and make sure that when using one of the combinations, the devices of the other combination are powered off.

• Combination 1: Aircraft + goggles + motion controller.
• Combination 2: Aircraft + goggles + remote controller.

Make sure to set the Aircraft Signal Lost Action in the goggles menu before takeoff. The aircraft will automatically perform the set Aircraft Signal Lost Action (Return to Home, Descend, or Hover) in the following scenarios. Make sure to pay attention to the on-screen prompts in the goggles.

• Combination 1: Aircraft + goggles + motion controller. The goggles or the motion controller is disconnected from the aircraft.
• Combination 2: Aircraft + goggles + remote controller. The remote controller is disconnected from the aircraft.
