Greenheck FSD-211M Modulating Combination Fire Smoke Damper

Application

The Model FSD-211M is a modulating combination fire smoke damper featuring 3V style blades. It is engineered for operation and dynamic closure during emergency fire smoke events. This model is rated for airflow and leakage in either direction and can be installed vertically (with blades running horizontally) or horizontally.

Ratings

UL 555 Fire Resistance Rating

UL 555S Leakage Rating

The damper is AMCA certified for Air Performance.

Classification: See complete marking on product. UL 555 and UL 555S Classification R13317, CAN/ULC S112 Classified Fire Damper, CAN/ULC S112.1 Classified Smoke Damper.

Size Limitations

Maximum size for a single section is 36 x 36 inches (914 x 914 mm) and for multiple sections is 72 x 72 inches (1829 x 1829 mm) at 4 in. wg (1 kPa) pressure. Minimum size is 6 x 6 inches (102 x 102 mm), with options down to 4 x 4 inches (102 x 102 mm) using transitions.

The Model FSD-211M meets the requirements for fire dampers, smoke dampers, and combination fire smoke dampers established by: National Fire Protection Association (NFPA Standards 80, 90A, 92, 101 & 105), IBC International Building Codes, CSFM California State Fire Marshal. Fire Damper Listing (#3225-0981:103), Leakage (Smoke) Damper Listing (#3230-0981:104).

Options and Accessories

Available options and accessories include:

Pressure Drop

Pressure drop data is provided for various damper sizes and airflow velocities, illustrated in AMCA Figures 5.2, 5.3, and 5.5. These figures detail pressure drop in inches of water gauge (in. wg) for different velocities in feet per minute (fpm).

Space Envelopes

Externally mounted actuators require space outside the damper sleeve. The 'S' dimension indicates the clearance needed for various actuators. The table below shows worst-case space envelopes for different actuator types/models, including the FSAFB24 SR(-S) Belimo.

Actuator Type/Model B* (With RRL, RRL/OCI, or TOR) T* (With RRL, RRL/OCI, or TOR) S (PiggyBack)
FSAFB24 SR(-S) Belimo 1½ in. (38 mm) 9¼ in. (235mm) 6 in. (152mm)

* For dampers 18 in. (457mm) or more in height, these dimensions are 0 in.

Contained Actuator Option

This option allows the actuator to be oriented so it extends no more than 1½ inches above or below the sleeve. For dampers 11 inches high or less, the RRL, RRL/OCI, or TOR may be mounted on the side opposite the actuator.

Sleeve and Sideplate Dimensions

The diagrams and table illustrate the position of the FSD-211M damper within a factory sleeve, showing the 'A' dimension for mounting actuators, controls, and allowing space for retaining angles and duct connections. The standard 'A' dimension is 7 3/16 in. (183mm), with a range from 7 3/16 in. (183mm) to 16 in. (406mm).

Note: The entire damper frame does not need to be within the wall; however, the damper blades, when closed, must be contained within the wall.

Transitioned Damper Dimensions

The FSD-211M can be supplied with round or oval transitions on factory sleeves for use with corresponding ductwork. The drawings show overall damper sizes for Type R (round), Type O (oval), and Type C (custom) transitions.

*These dimensions are furnished approximately 1/4 in. (6mm) undersize, except round and oval dimensions which are approximately 1/8 in. (3mm) undersize. Ts = (2)(Sleeve Thickness).

Multiple Section Dampers

Dampers exceeding the maximum single section size are provided as factory assemblies of two or more equal sections. The figures show maximum damper section size and assembly configurations for multi-section dampers, including two sections wide (72 in. wide x 36 in. high) and two sections high (36 in. wide x 72 in. high).
