Power Adapter Instruction
The radio comes with two power cable options, A and B. Cable A is provided by default. If you require cable B, please contact after-sales service.
Volkswagen vehicles use three main power interfaces: PQ Quadlock, ISO plug, and MQB Quadlock.
- PQ Quadlock: Use cable A to connect.
- ISO Plug: Contact us for cable B.
- MQB Quadlock: Requires a CAN adapter for connection.
MQB Quadlock Connection Steps:
- Locate the clasp on the car connector.
- Press the clasp to the side and press the gray connector.
- Connect the connector to the cable.
- Plug the connector back into the car connector.
- The cable installation is complete.
Attention: The RCD360S is not compatible with MQB Quadlock systems, including those in the Polo 6C. For such vehicles, consider the RCD360 PRO2/PRO3 or a radio specifically for the Polo 6C.
Backup Camera Function Instruction
The provided power cable has a white wire that disables the reverse function by default. If your car is equipped with a reverse camera, cut off this white wire. If not, no action is required.

Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto
Wireless Android Auto Requirements:
- Android version 11.0 or higher (Android Go edition is not supported).
- A compatible Android phone with an active data plan and 5 GHz Wi-Fi support.
- Specific phone compatibility includes: Any phone with Android 11.0, Google or Samsung phones with Android 10.0, Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ or Note 8 with Android 9.0.
CarPlay Connection Points:
- Connect your iPhone via the USB port. The device should detect it automatically.
- Ensure the CarPlay function is enabled on your iPhone.
- Access CarPlay via the APP Menu on the head unit.
- Allow some time for the iPhone to connect. Be patient and avoid frequent plugging/unplugging.
- Ensure Siri is enabled, connected to Wi-Fi, and terminal access restrictions are not active.
CarPlay Troubleshooting:
- CarPlay doesn't work: Avoid frequently pulling the USB cable. Unplug from the phone to protect the USB port. Reset the radio system and clear CarPlay connection records on your phone.
- CarPlay no sound: Typically, Bluetooth connection is not required for CarPlay. If both Bluetooth and CarPlay are connected, it may cause conflicts. Ensure the "Allow CarPlay" switch is enabled on your phone.

FAQ / Frequently Asked Questions
- How to connect the radio: For most cars after 2010, it's plug and play. Check included adapters. An antenna adapter may be needed if your original radio has two interfaces.
- Radio not compatible: If the radio or adapter doesn't fit, send dashboard and original interface photos to customer service.
- Multi-function steering wheel: For cars produced before 2010, consider the RCD360 PRO2. Older steering wheels (8 or 4 buttons) may require the RCD360 PRO2 and an adapter. Contact service for assistance.
- RCD360 battery leakage issue: For cars manufactured before 2010 with battery leakage problems, a special adapter is recommended.
Explanation: Communication is via CAN-BUS. Volkswagen upgraded the bus between 2008-2010. Newer devices may not interpret older gateway messages, leading to issues like the head unit not detecting key removal, causing power leakage. Replacing the gateway can resolve this.
Possible reasons and solutions:
- Radio does not shut down when key is removed: CAN signal mismatch. Solution: Buy a special adapter for RCD360S.
- External device caused leakage: Disconnect all external devices except the main unit and check. If a camera caused it, unplug its power cable.
- Special case (intermittent communication loss): The CAN line signal may be interrupted due to the CANBUS box in the radio. Solution: Use an external CANBUS box adapter. Contact us if needed.
Radio Antenna Issues
The standard antenna interface is a single hole. Most radios work directly, but exceptions exist:
- Original UKW-Antenna with 1 Fakra: No adapter needed.
- Original UKW-Antenna with double Fakra: A dual-hole antenna is recommended (e.g., YX2201 or YX2202) for proper operation.
- Original UKW-Antenna with double separate Fakra: A dual-hole antenna adapter is required (SKU-YX2206).
- Poor AM/FM signal after installation: Check if the antenna adapter is connected stably. If wiring is correct, an antenna amplifier might be needed.

RCD360 Camera Connection Issues
- Standard Rear View Camera: Choose cameras with an AV port. Contact service with your car model and year, and provide pictures of your license plate light for assistance.
- Trunk Handle Rear View Camera (Our Brand):
- Without track line: Connection is the same as the standard rear view camera.
- With track line: Follow specific connection guides.
CANBUS Adapter Method:
Follow the steps shown in the diagrams for CANBUS adapter connection.
Camera Connection Notes:
- If your car does not have a built-in camera, connect the radio with the power adapter.
- For aftermarket cameras, connect the AV cable and reverse detection cable.
- RGB Interface Backup Camera: The radio does not support RGB interfaces. Contact service for an RGB to AV adapter or replace the camera with a new unit. RGB to AV converters are not recommended.
- MIB Interface Backup Camera: Consider purchasing the RCD360 PRO2/PRO3S radio.
After installation, test the camera by closing the trunk to ensure it functions correctly with the reverse lights.
Troubleshooting
Protection Modes
- Temperature Protection Mode: Activates if the temperature is below -20°C or above 60°C. The screen will display a warning, and the system may shut down. Volume may decrease.
- Low Battery Protection Mode: Activates when the battery power is critically low.
Speaker No Sound
- Check volume balance and fader settings.
- If the issue persists, reset the radio by long-pressing the start button (10-15 seconds) or perform a factory reset in "System settings".
- If the problem continues, it might be due to incompatibility with car audio systems featuring power amplifiers (e.g., Dynaudio, Fender). Disconnect the car battery for 5 minutes to reset the car amplifier and allow it to match the audio system.
- Contact customer support if issues remain unresolved.
Microphone No Sound
- Ensure only one connection method (CarPlay or car's Bluetooth) is active simultaneously.
- If previously connected via Bluetooth, delete the connection to prevent automatic connection and microphone malfunction.
