If any door is open for more than 3 minutes, a buzzer alarm will sound continuously. It can be stopped by pressing any key but will reactivate after 3 minutes if the door remains open. The alarm stops when doors are properly closed.
Power Cut Memory
In case of power failure, the refrigerator will maintain the last used setting when power is restored.
Power-on Delay
To protect the compressor from damage during short power failures (less than 5 minutes), it will not start immediately. It will restart after power has been on for more than 5 minutes.
Over-temperature Alarm
After power outage, if the freezer sensor temperature is higher than -10°C, the freezer zone display digits will flicker. The temperature will be displayed when any key is pressed and will restore to normal after 10 seconds or another key press.
Fault Alarm
If E0, E1, E2, EH, EE, or EC is displayed, it indicates a fault. Contact customer care for assistance.

Instructions for Food Storage
Precautions for Use
- The appliance may not operate consistently (potential defrosting or warming in the frozen compartment) if exposed for extended periods below its designed cold temperature range.
- Climate type information is on the rating plate.
- Internal temperature can be affected by appliance location, ambient temperature, and door opening frequency. Temperature settings may need adjustment.
- Effervescent drinks and products like frozen lollies should not be stored in the freezer or low-temperature compartments or consumed too cold.
Food Storage Location
Due to cold air circulation, temperatures vary within the refrigerator. Place foods in appropriate areas:
- Fresh food compartment: Suitable for cooked food, beverages, eggs, condiments needing cold preservation, milk, fruit juice.
- Crisper box: Suitable for vegetables and fruits.
- Freezer compartment: Suitable for ice cream, frozen food, and foods for long-term preservation.
Use of the Fresh Food Compartment
Fridge Shelf
To remove a shelf: Lift it up first, then pull it out. To install: Place it into position before putting it down. Keep the shelf rear flange upward to prevent food contact with the liner wall. Handle shelves firmly and with care.
Crisper Box
Pull out the crisper box for access. Ensure the cover plate is replaced correctly after use or cleaning to maintain the internal temperature.
Use of the Crisper Humidity Regulating Rod
This rod maintains humidity and freshness for vegetables. Sliding it to the right (more holes exposed) lowers humidity. Sliding it to the left (fewer holes exposed) increases humidity.
Cautions for Food Storage
- Clean and dry foods before storing. Seal foods to prevent water evaporation, keeping fruits and vegetables fresh and preventing odours.
- Do not overfill the refrigerator. Ensure space between food for cold air circulation. Overfilling restricts airflow and affects refrigeration effectiveness. Avoid storing excessive or very heavy foods, as shelves may be damaged.
- Keep a small space between food and the inner wall. Do not place water-rich foods too close to the rear wall, as they could freeze to it.
Categorized Storage of Foods
Store foods by category, placing frequently eaten items at the front to minimize door opening duration and prevent spoilage.
Energy-Saving Tips
- Allow hot food to cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
- Thaw frozen food in the fresh food compartment, using its low temperature to cool the fresh food, thus saving energy.
Storage of Fruits and Vegetables
Some fresh vegetables and fruits are sensitive to cold and not suitable for storage in the chill compartment.
Use of the Frozen Food Storage Compartment
The freezer temperature is controlled below -18°C for long-term preservation. Adhere to storage durations indicated on food packaging.
- Use freezer drawers for food requiring freezing. Cut bulky fish and meat into smaller pieces and pack into fresh-keeping bags before distributing them in drawers.
- Allow hot foods to cool before placing them in the freezer.
- Do not place glass containers with liquid or sealed canned food in the freezer, as they may burst due to expansion.
- Divide food into small portions when packing the freezer.
- Place food in bags or freezer-friendly containers before freezing. Ensure packaging is dry to prevent food from freezing together.
- Use firm, tasteless, air/water-impervious, non-toxic, and pollution-free materials for packing to avoid cross-contamination and odour transfer.
IMPORTANT: Check the troubleshooting list before contacting a Defy service centre. This list includes frequent complaints not related to faulty workmanship. Certain features mentioned may not apply to your product.
5 Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning will prolong the product's service life.
WARNING: Disconnect the power before cleaning the refrigerator.
- Do not use sharp, abrasive tools, soap, house cleaning materials, detergents, gas, gasoline, varnish, or similar substances for cleaning.
- Dissolve one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in water. Moisten a cloth, wring it out, wipe the device, and dry thoroughly.
- Keep water away from the lamp's cover and other electrical parts.
- Clean the door with a wet cloth. Remove all items before detaching door and chassis shelves. Lift door shelves to detach. Clean and dry shelves, then reattach by sliding from above.
- Do not use chlorine water or cleaning products on exterior surfaces or chrome-plated parts, as chlorine can cause rust.
Preventing Malodour
The product is manufactured free of odorous materials. However, improper food storage or cleaning can cause malodour.
- Clean the inside with carbonated water every 15 days.
- Keep foods in sealed containers. Microorganisms from unsealed items can cause malodour.
- Do not keep expired or spoilt foods in the refrigerator.
Protecting Plastic Surfaces
Oil spilled on plastic surfaces may damage them and must be cleaned immediately with warm water.
