Troubleshooting
Headset Issues
- My headset is unstable: Ensure the microphone rests close to your cheek without touching. Adjust the earpiece inward to optimize microphone position. See 'Position Your Headset'.
- Talk time performance degraded after recharge: Battery may be wearing out. Contact Plantronics support at plantronics.com/support.
- Cannot hear a dial tone: Ensure the headset is charged and subscribed to the base. Press the base desk phone button. Verify the handset lifter is lifting the handset sufficiently. Adjust the base configuration switch (A-G) if necessary. Fine-tune listening volume with the headset call control button or the desk phone listening volume dial on the base.
- Hearing static: Ensure at least 12 inches (30 cm) separation between the base and computer, and 6 inches (15 cm) between the base and telephone. If the issue persists, move closer to the base as the headset may be out of range. See 'Position Your Base'.
- Sound is distorted: Lower the desk phone speaking and listening volumes on the base. For most phones, position 3 is recommended. If your desk phone has its own volume control, lower it until distortion disappears. If distortion persists, lower the headset volume control. Ensure proper base-to-device separation (12 inches from computer, 6 inches from telephone). See 'Position Your Base'.
- Hearing echo: Lower desk phone speaking and listening volumes on the base. If audio is too low, increase headset volume. Ensure the headset microphone is positioned close to your mouth. Adjust the base configuration switch (A-G) if necessary. See 'Make a Desk Phone Call'.
Desk Phone Issues
- People hear a buzz in the background: Move the base further away from your phone. If the base power supply is plugged into a power strip, plug it directly into the wall outlet.
- Handset lifter not lifting handset: Ensure the handset lifter power cord is firmly connected to the handset lifter jack on the base.
Mobile Issues
- Pairing problems: Ensure the Bluetooth LED on the base flashes red and blue by pressing the Bluetooth button for four seconds. Make sure your Bluetooth mobile phone is in search mode. The base Bluetooth LED should be solid blue when a connection is made.
- Base not automatically reconnecting with mobile phone: Ensure Plantronics Hub software is installed. Check the 'Auto-connect to mobile phone' setting in Plantronics Hub (Settings > Wireless) and ensure 'Never' is not selected.
Softphone Issues
- Dialing from softphone application does nothing: Ensure your headset is charged and subscribed to the base. Verify Plantronics software is installed (plantronics.com/software) and that you are using a compatible softphone application (list available at plantronics.com/software). If Plantronics software is not installed or the softphone is incompatible, press the base computer call button first, then use the softphone interface. Ensure the headset is set as the default sound device in your computer's sound settings. Restart your computer.
- Speaking/listening volume too low or too high: Adjust headset volume using the volume wheel. Adjust listening/speaking volumes in your computer's sound control panel/system preferences or within the softphone application.
- Sound distorted or echo: Reduce speaking/listening volume on the computer via the softphone application. Position the microphone towards your chin. If distortion persists, lower the headset volume.
- No audio through PC Speakers: For Windows XP systems, go to Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Audio > Sound Playback and set your Savi headset as the default. For Windows Vista/7, go to Start > Control Panel > Sounds > Playback and set your Savi headset as the default. For Mac OS X, go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Sound > Output and select your speakers.
- No audio connection to PC: Unplug the USB and power cables from the base. Reconnect the power cable first, wait for the power LED, then reconnect the USB cable. Quit and restart your PC audio or softphone application.
