Warning: Indicates potential risks of death or severe injury.
Caution: Indicates potential risks of injury or property damage.
General Warnings:
- Your appliance is provided with a special cord set with an integrated Safety Extra Low Voltage power supply. Do not exchange or tamper with any part of it, as this carries a risk of electric shock. Only use the provided cord set.
- If the appliance is marked with a symbol like ☍492, it can be used with any Braun power supply coded 492-XXXX.
- The shaver is suitable for cleaning under running tap water. Always detach the shaver from the power supply before cleaning it in water.
- Do not shave with a damaged foil or cord.
- This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are given supervision or instruction concerning safe use and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be performed by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.
Electrical Safety
- Do not use the shaver with voltages other than 100-240V AC, as this may cause fire or electric shock.
- Do not damage, bend, twist, or pull the power cord. Do not place heavy objects on it or expose it to heat, as this can cause the cord to break and lead to fire or electric shock.
- Do not use the shaver if the power cord or plug is damaged, or if the outlet is loose, as this may cause electric shock, short circuits, or fire.
- Do not disassemble or repair the appliance yourself, except for battery removal during disposal. Unauthorized repairs can lead to fire, electric shock, or injury. Contact a Braun repair center for service.
- Do not immerse the power plug in water or splash water on it. This can cause short circuits, electric shock, smoke, fire, leakage fires, or malfunctions.
- Do not use the power plug in wet areas such as bathrooms or shower rooms for the same reasons.
- Never unplug the power cord with wet hands, as this can cause electric shock or injury.
- Keep the cleaning fluid cartridge away from fire sources, as it is flammable and can cause fire.
- Always switch off the shaver and unplug the power cord before cleaning or maintenance to prevent electric shock or injury.
- Ensure the electrical contacts on the power plug are completely dry before use. Failure to do so may result in short circuits, electric shock, smoke, fire, leakage fires, or malfunctions.
- Always use the dedicated power cord supplied with the shaver. Using an incorrect cord can lead to fire, electric shock, or injury.
Usage Precautions
- Do not let children use the shaver alone or leave it within their reach to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Do not use the shaver for purposes other than shaving (e.g., for hair on the head). Doing so may damage the foil and cause skin injury or premature wear.
- Do not allow metal objects, dust, or water droplets to adhere to the power plug. This can cause short circuits, electric shock, smoke, fire, leakage fires, or malfunctions. Clean the plug periodically.
- Do not press the foil or cutter hard, as this may cause damage and skin injury.
- Do not share the shaver with others to prevent the spread of infections.
- When removing the battery for disposal, ensure the terminals are not short-circuited.
- Before each use, check the foil for any tears or deformation to prevent skin injury.
- When unplugging the shaver, always pull the plug itself, not the cord, to avoid electric shock, short circuits, or fire.
- Unplug the shaver from the outlet when not in use or when not charging (especially during extended absences) to prevent injury, burns, insulation degradation, electric shock, or leakage fires.

Operation
First Use and Charging
Connect the shaver to an electrical outlet using the special cord set (10) into the power socket (9), or via the Clean&Charge Station. For first-time use, charge the shaver continuously for 1 hour.
Charging and Basic Operating Information
- Recommended Ambient Temperature for Charging: 5°C to 35°C. Temperatures outside this range may affect charging performance.
- Recommended Ambient Temperature for Shaving: 15°C to 35°C.
- Temperature Limits: Do not expose the appliance to temperatures higher than 50°C for extended periods.
- Charging Time: A full charge provides up to 50 minutes of cordless shaving time. This may vary based on beard growth and environmental conditions.
- Shaving with Cord: You can also shave by connecting the shaver directly to an electrical outlet via the special cord set if the battery is discharged.
- Display Illumination: When connected to an electrical outlet, the shaver display may take a few minutes to illuminate.
Shaver Display
The shaver display (5) indicates the battery's charge status:
- Charge Status: Battery segments blink during charging. All segments light up briefly when fully charged, then turn off.
- Low Charge: A low-charge light ([low battery symbol]) flashes red when the battery is low. You should still be able to finish your shave. A beep sound will remind you of the low charge status when switching off the shaver.
- Cleaning Status: A cleaning indicator ([cleaning symbol]) lights up when the shaver requires cleaning in the Clean&Charge Station.
- Travel Lock: A lock symbol ([lock symbol]) lights up when the shaver is locked to prevent accidental activation, such as when stored in a suitcase.
Using the Shaver
Press the on/off switch (4) to operate the shaver.
Tips for a Perfect Dry Shave
- Always shave before washing your face for optimal results.
- Hold the shaver at a 90° angle to your skin at all times.
- Stretch your skin and shave against the direction of your beard growth.
MultiHeadLock Switch (Head Lock)
To shave hard-to-reach areas (e.g., under the nose), slide the MultiHeadLock switch (3) down to lock the shaver head. The shaver head can be locked in five positions. To change positions, move the shaver head forward or backward with your thumb and forefinger; it will click into the next position automatically. For automatic cleaning in the Clean&Charge Station, the head lock should be released (slide switch up).
Long Hair Trimmer
To trim sideburns, mustache, or beard, press the release button (8) and slide the long hair trimmer (6) upwards. Caution: Do not slide the trimmer horizontally on the skin, as this may cause cuts.
Travel Lock
- Activation: Press and hold the on/off switch (4) for 3 seconds. The shaver will lock, confirmed by a beep sound and the lock symbol on the display. The display will then turn off.
- Deactivation: Press and hold the on/off switch (4) for 3 seconds again to unlock the shaver.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Manual Cleaning of the Shaver
Cleaning Under Running Water
- Switch on the shaver (cordless) and rinse the shaver head under hot running water until all residue is removed. You may use liquid soap without abrasive substances. Rinse off all foam and let the shaver run for a few more seconds to remove remaining water.
- After rinsing, switch off the shaver, press the cassette release buttons (2) to remove the Foil & Cutter cassette (1), and let it dry completely.
- If you regularly clean the shaver under water, apply a drop of light machine oil (not included) on top of the Foil & Cutter cassette and the long hair trimmer once a week for lubrication.
Cleaning with a Brush
- Switch off the shaver. Remove the Foil & Cutter cassette (1) and tap it out on a flat surface to remove debris.
- Using the supplied brush, clean the inner area of the pivoting head. Caution: Do not brush the foil or inner blades, as this may damage them.
The Foil & Cutter cassette can be attached in either orientation without affecting shaving performance.
Clean&Charge Station Cleaning
The Clean&Charge Station is designed for cleaning, charging, lubricating, disinfecting, drying, and storing your Braun shaver.
Installing the Clean&Charge Station
- Press the lift button (13) at the rear of the station to raise the housing.
- Hold the cleaning cartridge (17) on a flat, stable surface (e.g., a table) and carefully remove its lid.
- Slide the cartridge from the rear into the base of the station until it clicks into place.
- Slowly push the housing down until it locks.
- Connect the station to an electrical outlet by attaching the special cord set (10) to the power socket (12).
Charging the Shaver in the Clean&Charge Station
Insert the shaver head first, with the front showing and the head lock released, into the cleaning station. Important: The shaver must be dry and free from foam or soap residue. Align the shaver's contacts (7) on the back with the station's contacts (14). Push the shaver into the correct position. A beep sound confirms proper placement, and charging will start automatically.
Cleaning the Shaver
When the cleaning indicator ([cleaning symbol]) lights up on the shaver display, insert the shaver into the Clean&Charge Station as described above and press the start button (16). If the status light (15b) does not shine (indicating the station has entered standby mode after about 10 minutes), press the start button twice. Cleaning will not start otherwise. For best results, cleaning after each shave is recommended.
The cleaning process involves several cycles of flushing with cleaning fluid (approximately 3 minutes), followed by an active drying phase (approximately 40 minutes) with a fan running. Charging will resume afterwards, indicated on the shaver display. The display turns off when the shaver is fully charged.
Removing the Shaver from the Clean&Charge Station
Hold the Clean&Charge Station with one hand and tilt the shaver slightly forward to release it.
Cleaning Cartridge / Replacement
When the level indicator (15a) lights up permanently red, there are approximately 3 more cycles of fluid remaining. When the level indicator blinks red, the cartridge needs replacement (roughly every 3 weeks with daily use). After pressing the lift button (13) to open the housing, wait a few seconds before removing the used cartridge to prevent dripping. Before discarding the used cartridge, close its openings with the lid of the new cartridge, as the used cartridge contains contaminated cleaning solution.
Consumables
Braun recommends replacing your shaver's Foil & Cutter cassette every 18 months to maintain maximum performance. These are available from your dealer or Braun Service Centres.
- Foil & Cutter Cassette: Models 92S/92B.
- Cleaning Cartridges: CCR2CR (2-pack), CCR3CR (3-pack), CCR4CR (4-pack), CCR6CR (6-pack).
Important: Do not reuse cartridges with water or other liquids. Always use genuine Braun cleaning cartridges.
