This manual provides information for the LG LED LCD Monitor, model 34WP65C. It covers setup, operation, settings, and troubleshooting. Please read this manual carefully before operating your set and retain it for future reference.
LG LED Monitor applies LCD screen with LED backlights.

Assembling and Preparing
CAUTION
- Always use genuine LG components for safety and product performance.
- The product warranty does not cover damage or injury caused by unauthorized components.
- It is recommended to use the supplied components.
- Using generic cables not certified by LG may result in no display or image noise.
- Illustrations may differ from the actual product.
- Do not apply foreign substances to screw parts during assembly, as this may damage the product.
- Applying excessive force when tightening screws may cause monitor damage, which is not covered by the warranty.
- Do not carry the monitor upside down by holding only the base, as this may cause it to fall and result in injury.
- When lifting or moving the monitor, do not touch the screen, as applied force may cause damage.

How to Use the Joystick Button
Control monitor functions by pressing the joystick button or moving it left/right/up/down.

Moving and Lifting the Monitor
Follow these instructions to prevent scratches or damage and ensure safe transportation:
- Place the monitor in its original box or packing material before moving.
- Disconnect the power cord and all other cables before moving.
- Hold the bottom and side of the monitor frame firmly; do not hold the panel itself.
- When holding, the screen should face away from you to prevent scratches.
- Do not expose the monitor to shock or excessive vibration during transport.
- Keep the monitor upright; never turn it on its side or tilt it sideways.
CAUTION
- Avoid touching the monitor screen as much as possible to prevent damage to the screen or pixels.
- Using the monitor without the stand base may cause instability and falling, leading to monitor damage or personal injury, and may cause joystick malfunction.
Installation
Installing on a Table
Lift the monitor and place it upright on the table. Position it at least 100 mm (3.94 inches) away from the wall for sufficient ventilation.
A diagram illustrates this placement with 100 mm markings.
CAUTION
- Unplug the power cord before moving or installing to avoid electric shock.
- Use the provided power cord and connect to a grounded power outlet.
- Contact your local dealer for a replacement power cord.
Adjusting the Stand Height
- Place the monitor mounted on the stand base in an upright position.
- Handle the monitor with both hands for safety.

WARNING
When adjusting screen height, do not place your hand on the stand body to avoid finger injury.
Adjusting the Angle
- Place the monitor mounted on the stand base in an upright position.
- Adjust the screen angle forward or backward from -5° to 20° for comfortable viewing.
Diagrams illustrate the tilt adjustment. A warning graphic shows not to hold the lower frame to avoid finger injury.
WARNING
- To avoid finger injury, do not hold the lower part of the monitor's frame when adjusting the screen.
- Be careful not to touch or press the screen area when adjusting the angle.
Using the Kensington Lock
The Kensington security system connector is located at the bottom of the monitor. Refer to the Kensington lock owner's manual or visit http://www.kensington.com for installation and usage information. Connect the monitor to a table using the security system cable.

NOTE
- The monitor head can be rotated slightly up or down (up to 3°). Adjust the horizontal level of the monitor head.
- The Kensington security system is optional and can be obtained from most electronics stores.
Installing the Wall Mount Plate
This monitor meets specifications for wall mount plates or compatible devices.
NOTE
- The wall mount plate is sold separately.
- Refer to the wall mount plate's installation guide for details.
- Be careful not to apply excessive force when mounting the plate, as it may damage the screen.
- Remove the stand before wall mounting by reversing the stand attachment process.
Installing on the Wall
Install the monitor at least 100 mm (3.94 inches) away from the wall, with approximately 100 mm (3.94 inches) of space on each side for ventilation. Detailed instructions are available from your local retail store or the manual for a tilting wall mounting bracket.
To mount to a wall, attach an optional wall mounting bracket to the back of the monitor. Ensure the bracket is securely fixed to both the monitor and the wall.
- Using screws longer than the standard length may damage the product's interior.
- Non-VESA standard screws may damage the product and cause the monitor to fall. LG Electronics is not liable for accidents related to non-standard screws.

NOTE
- Use screws specified by VESA standards.
- The wall mount kit includes the installation guide and necessary parts.
- The wall mounting bracket is optional; obtain accessories from your local dealer.
- Screw length may vary; use the proper length.
- Refer to the user manual for the wall mounting bracket for more information.
CAUTION
- Unplug the power cord before moving or installing to avoid electric shock.
- Mounting on a ceiling or slanted wall may cause the monitor to fall, leading to injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount and contact qualified personnel.
- Applying excessive force when tightening screws may cause monitor damage, not covered by warranty.
- Use VESA-standard wall mounting brackets and screws. Damage from using inappropriate components is not covered by warranty.
- Installed screws must be 8 mm (0.3 inches) or less in length, measured from the back of the monitor.
Diagrams show the wall mount plate attached to the monitor back, indicating screw dimensions and maximum length.
Using the Monitor
Connecting to a PC
Illustrations in this manual may differ from the actual product.
Press the joystick button, navigate to Settings → Input, and select the input option.
CAUTION
- Do not press the screen for a prolonged time, as this may cause image distortion.
- Do not display a still image for a prolonged time to prevent image retention; use a screensaver if possible.
NOTE
- When connecting the power cord, use a grounded (3-hole) power strip or outlet.
- Monitor flicker when turned on in low temperatures is normal.
- Occasional red, green, or blue spots on the screen are normal for an LCD screen and do not indicate an error.
HDMI Connection
Transmits digital video and audio signals from your PC to the monitor.
CAUTION
- Using DVI to HDMI or DP to HDMI cables may cause compatibility issues.
- Use a certified cable with an HDMI logo. Non-certified cables may result in no display or connection errors.
- Recommended HDMI cable types: High-Speed HDMI®/TM cable, High-Speed HDMI®/TM cable with Ethernet.
DisplayPort Connection
Transmits digital video and audio signals from your PC to the monitor.
NOTE
- Video or audio output may depend on the PC's DP (DisplayPort) version.
- If using a Mini DisplayPort output graphics card, use a Mini DP to DP (Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort) cable or gender that supports DisplayPort 1.4 (sold separately).
Connecting AV Devices
HDMI Connection
HDMI transmits digital video and audio signals from your AV device to the monitor.
NOTE
- Using DVI to HDMI or DP to HDMI cables may cause compatibility issues.
- Use a certified cable with an HDMI logo. Non-certified cables may result in no display or connection errors.
- Recommended HDMI cable types: High-Speed HDMI®/TM cable, High-Speed HDMI®/TM cable with Ethernet.
Connecting Peripherals
Connecting Headphones
Connect peripherals to the monitor via the headphones port.
NOTE
- Peripheral devices are sold separately.
- Using angled earphones may cause issues connecting other external devices. Straight earphones are recommended.
Illustrations show an angled earphone connector and a straight (recommended) earphone connector.
- Headphone and speaker functions may be limited depending on PC and external device audio settings.
User Settings
Activating the Main Menu
- Press the joystick button on the bottom of the monitor and enter Settings.
- Move the joystick up/down/left/right to set options.
- Press the joystick button again to exit the main menu.

User Settings Menu Navigation
1. To view the OSD menu, press the joystick button and enter Settings.
2. Configure options by moving the joystick up/down/left/right.
3. To return to the upper menu or set other items, move the joystick to or press it.
4. To exit the OSD menu, move the joystick to until you exit.
Icons represent menu categories: Game Mode [Game Controller Icon], Game Adjust [Sliders Icon], Picture Adjust [Monitor Screen Icon], Input [Input Signal Icon], General [Gear Icon].
Game Mode
Game Mode settings are available for SDR (Non-HDR) and HDR signals.

NOTE on HDR
- HDR content operation may depend on Windows 10 OS settings; check HDR On/Off settings.
- With HDR function on, picture quality may be affected by graphics card performance.
- Screen flickering or cracking may occur during HDR function when changing monitor input or power status, depending on graphics card performance.
Game Adjust
1ms Motion Blur Reduction
This mode minimizes motion blur in fast-moving videos. For full advantage, select 3440 x 1440 before enabling.
This function is available for the following vertical frequencies: HDMI 85Hz, DP 100Hz, 144Hz, 160Hz.
Turning it 'On' enables the mode; 'Off' turns it off.
NOTE
- Brightness is reduced with backlight control to reduce motion blur.
- 1ms Motion Blur Reduction and FreeSync cannot be used simultaneously.
- This function is game-optimized.
- Turn it off when not gaming.
- Flicker may occur during 1ms Motion Blur Reduction operation.
FreeSync Premium
Provides seamless and natural images by synchronizing vertical frequency of input signal with output signal.
CAUTION
- Supported Interface: DisplayPort.
- Supported Graphic Card: Requires a card supporting AMD's FreeSync.
- Supported Version: Ensure the graphics card driver is updated.
- For more information, refer to AMD website: http://www.amd.com/FreeSync.
- FreeSync Premium and 1ms Motion Blur Reduction cannot be enabled simultaneously.

Black Stabilizer
Control black contrast for better visibility in dark scenes.
Increasing Black Stabilizer brightens low gray level areas, making objects on dark game screens easier to distinguish.
Reducing Black Stabilizer darkens low gray level areas and increases dynamic contrast.
Response Time
Sets response time for displayed pictures based on screen speed. For normal environments, use 'Fast'. For fast-moving pictures, use 'Faster'. Motion blur may occur with 'Faster' depending on content.

Crosshair
Provides a mark on the center of the screen for First Person Shooter (FPS) games. Users can select from four different crosshair options.

Six Color
Adjusts hue and saturation of six colors (Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) to meet user requirements.

Sets the offset level (for HDMI only). Offset: darkest color the monitor can display.

Aspect Ratio
Adjusts the aspect ratio of the screen.

Auto Input Switch

Automatic Standby

HDMI Compatibility Mode
Recognizes legacy equipment that does not support HDMI 2.0.

NOTE
- If the connected device does not support HDMI Compatibility Mode, screen or sound may not work properly.
- Some older graphics cards may not support HDMI 2.0, but HDMI 2.0 resolution can be selected in the Windows control panel. This may cause abnormal screen display.
DisplayPort Version
Set the DisplayPort version to match the connected external device.
Buzzer
Sets the sound generated by the Buzzer when the monitor powers on.

Troubleshooting
Nothing is displayed on the screen.
- Check if the power cord is correctly plugged into the power outlet.
- Check the power cable connection and press the power button.
- Check that the connected input is enabled (Settings > Input).
- If the monitor is in sleep mode, move the mouse or press a key to switch the display on.
- Check if the computer is turned on.
Screen display issues
This occurs when PC (graphics card) signals are outside the monitor's recommended horizontal or vertical frequency range. Refer to the Product Specification section for appropriate frequency settings.
No Signal message
Displayed when the signal cable between the PC and monitor is missing or disconnected. Check and reconnect the cable.
Display driver issues
- Install the display driver from the LG website: http://www.lg.com.
- Ensure the graphics card supports Plug and Play.
Some features are disabled.
The OSD is locked. Go to Settings > General and set OSD Lock to Off.
The screen retains an image.
- Displaying a still image for a prolonged time can cause screen damage and image retention. Use a screensaver to extend monitor lifetime.
Screen display is unstable and shaky. / Images displayed leave shadow trails.
Did you select the appropriate resolution? If the selected resolution is HDMI 1080i 60/50 Hz (interlaced), the screen may flicker. Change the resolution to 1080p or the recommended resolution.
NOTE on Frequencies
- Vertical Frequency (Refresh Rate): The number of times the screen is refreshed per second, measured in Hz.
- Horizontal Frequency: The time to display one horizontal line, measured in kHz.
- Check if the graphics card's resolution or frequency is within the monitor's allowed range and set it to the recommended resolution via Control Panel > Display > Menu in Windows. Settings may vary by OS.
- Incorrect resolution settings can result in blurred text, dimmed screen, truncated display area, or misalignment.
- Setting methods and available resolutions may differ by computer/OS and graphics card performance. Contact the manufacturer for assistance.
- Some graphics cards may not support 1920 x 1080 resolution. Contact the manufacturer if resolution cannot be displayed.
The display color is abnormal.
- Discolored (16 colors)? Set color to 24-bit (true color) or higher via Control Panel > Display > Menu > Color Quality. Settings may vary by OS.
- Unstable or monochrome? Check signal cable connection. Reconnect the cable or reinsert the PC's graphics card.
- Spots on the screen? Pixilated spots (red, green, blue, white, black) may appear on the screen, which is normal for an LCD screen and not an error related to performance.
No sound from the headphone port.
- Ensure headphone port connections are made properly.
- Try increasing the volume with the joystick.
- Set the PC's audio output to the monitor. In Windows, go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound, and set the Monitor as the default device. Settings may vary by OS.
