Assembling and Preparing
CAUTION:
- Always use genuine LG components for safety and performance. Warranty does not cover damage from unauthorized components.
- It is recommended to use supplied components. Generic cables may cause display issues or noise.
- Illustrations may differ from the actual product.
- Do not apply foreign substances to screw parts during assembly.
- Applying excessive force when tightening screws may damage the monitor.
- Do not carry the monitor upside down by the base; it may fall and cause injury.
- When lifting or moving, do not touch the monitor screen to prevent damage.

- Components may look different from illustrations.

Product and Button Description
Joystick Button
The joystick button is located at the bottom of the monitor. Use it to control monitor functions by pressing or moving it.
Basic Functions

Moving and Lifting the Monitor
Follow these instructions to prevent scratches, damage, and ensure safe transportation:
- Place the monitor in original box or packing material before moving.
- Disconnect power and all cables before moving.
- Hold the bottom and side of the monitor frame firmly; do not hold the panel itself.
- Keep the screen facing away from you to prevent scratches.
- Avoid shock or excessive vibration during transport.
- Keep the monitor upright; do not turn it on its side or tilt it.
CAUTION:
- Avoid touching the screen to prevent damage or pixel issues.
- Using the monitor without the stand base may cause instability and potential injury or malfunction.
Installing on a Table
Place the monitor upright on a table, at least 100 mm (3.94 inches) away from the wall for sufficient ventilation.
CAUTION:
- Unplug the power cord before moving or installing to avoid electric shock.
- Use the provided power cord and connect to a grounded power outlet.
- Contact a local dealer for a replacement power cord.
Adjusting the Stand Height
Place the monitor upright on the stand base and handle with both hands for safety. Maximum height adjustment is 110.0 mm.
WARNING:
Do not place your hand on the stand body while adjusting the screen height to avoid finger injury.
Adjusting the Angle
Place the monitor upright on the stand base. Adjust the screen forward or backward from -5° to 20° for comfortable viewing.
WARNING:
- To avoid finger injury, do not hold the lower part of the monitor frame when adjusting the angle.
- Be careful not to touch or press the screen area.
NOTE:
The monitor head can be rotated slightly up or down (up to 3°) to adjust the horizontal level.
Using the Kensington Lock
The Kensington security system connector is at the bottom of the monitor. Refer to the Kensington lock owner's manual or visit http://www.kensington.com for installation and usage details. Connect the monitor to a table using the security cable.
NOTE:
The Kensington security system is optional and can be purchased from most electronics stores.
Installing the Wall Mount Plate
This monitor meets specifications for VESA-compatible wall mount plates. The wall mount plate is sold separately.
NOTE:
- Refer to the wall mount plate's installation guide for details.
- Be careful not to apply excessive force when mounting the plate to avoid screen damage.
- Remove the stand before wall mounting by reversing the stand attachment process.
Installing on the Wall
Install the monitor at least 100 mm from the wall, with 100 mm space on each side for ventilation. Detailed instructions are available from your local retail store or the manual for your tilting wall mounting bracket.
Attach an optional wall mounting bracket to the monitor's back and ensure it is securely fixed to both the monitor and the wall.
CAUTION:
- Using screws longer than the standard length may damage the product.
- Non-VESA standard screws can cause the monitor to fall. LG Electronics is not liable for accidents related to non-standard screws.

NOTE:
- Use VESA-specified screws.
- The wall mount kit includes the installation guide and necessary parts.
- The wall mounting bracket is optional; obtain from your local dealer.
- Screw length may vary; use the proper length. Refer to the wall mounting bracket user manual.
CAUTION:
- Unplug the power cord before moving or installing to avoid electric shock.
- Installing on a ceiling or slanted wall may cause the monitor to fall, leading to injury. Use an authorized LG mount and qualified personnel.
- Excessive force on screws can damage the monitor and is not covered by warranty.
- Use VESA-compliant brackets and screws. Damage from misuse is not covered.
- Installed screws must be 8 mm (0.3 inches) or less in length.
Using the Monitor
NOTE:
Illustrations in this manual may differ from the actual product.
Press the joystick button, navigate to Settings → Input, and select the input option.
CAUTION:
- Do not press the screen for prolonged periods to avoid image distortion.
- Do not display a still image for prolonged periods to prevent image retention. Use a screensaver if possible.
NOTE:
- Use a grounded (3-hole) power strip or outlet.
- Monitor may flicker in low temperatures (normal).
- Red, green, or blue spots on the screen are normal for LCD screens.
Connecting to a PC
This monitor supports the Plug and Play feature, allowing devices to be added without manual reconfiguration or driver installation.
HDMI Connection
Transmits digital video and audio signals from your PC to the monitor.
CAUTION:
- Using DVI to HDMI or DP to HDMI cables may cause compatibility issues.
- Use a certified HDMI cable with the HDMI logo. Uncertified cables may result in no display or connection errors.
- Recommended HDMI cable types: High-Speed HDMI®/TM cable, High-Speed HDMI®/TM cable with Ethernet.
DisplayPort Connection
Transmits digital video and audio signals from your PC to the monitor.
NOTE:
- Video or audio output may depend on the PC's DisplayPort version.
- For Mini DisplayPort graphics cards, use a Mini DP to DP 1.4 compatible cable or gender (sold separately).
Connecting AV Devices
HDMI Connection
HDMI transmits digital video and audio signals from your AV device to the monitor.
NOTE:
- Using DVI to HDMI or DP to HDMI cables may cause compatibility issues.
- Use a certified HDMI cable with the HDMI logo. Uncertified cables may result in no display or connection errors.
- Recommended HDMI cable types: High-Speed HDMI®/TM cable, High-Speed HDMI®/TM cable with Ethernet.
Connecting Peripherals
Connecting Headphones
Connect peripherals via the monitor's headphones port.
NOTE:
- Peripheral devices are sold separately.
- Angled earphones may cause connection issues with other devices; straight earphones are recommended.
Audio settings may limit headphone and speaker functions.
User Settings
NOTE:
Your monitor's On-Screen Display (OSD) may differ slightly from this manual.
When Beep Guide is activated, pressing the joystick button directly accesses Settings.
Activating the Main Menu
- Press the joystick button at the bottom of the monitor.
- Move the joystick (↑ / ↓ and ← / →) to select options.
- Press the joystick button again to exit the main menu.

Menu Settings Navigation
- To view the OSD menu, press the joystick button and enter Settings.
- Configure options by moving the joystick.
- To return to the upper menu or set other items, move the joystick or press it.
- To exit the OSD menu, move the joystick until you exit.

Game Mode
Customize game-related options. Gamer 1 and Gamer 2 modes allow saving custom display settings.

NOTE:
HDR content compatibility may depend on Windows 10 settings. HDR function may affect picture quality or cause flickering based on graphics card performance.
Game Adjust
1ms Motion Blur Reduction
Minimizes motion blur in fast videos. Requires 3440x1440 resolution. Available for specific vertical frequencies (HDMI 85Hz, DP 100,144,160Hz).
NOTE:
- Brightness is reduced with backlight control.
- 1ms Motion Blur Reduction and FreeSync cannot be used simultaneously.
- Recommended to turn off when not gaming. Flicker may occur during operation.
FreeSync Premium
Synchronizes vertical frequency for seamless images.
CAUTION:
- Requires DisplayPort and an AMD FreeSync-compatible graphics card. Update graphics card drivers. Refer to http://www.amd.com/FreeSync for details.
- FreeSync Premium and 1ms Motion Blur Reduction cannot be enabled simultaneously.

Black Stabilizer
Controls black contrast for better visibility in dark scenes. Increasing brightens dark areas; reducing darkens them and increases contrast.
Response Time
Sets screen response time. Recommended: Fast (normal), Faster (fast-moving). Faster mode may cause Motion Blur.

Crosshair
Provides a center mark for First Person Shooter (FPS) games. Select a crosshair that fits your gaming environment.

Gamma | Higher value = darker image; lower value = lighter image. Modes 1-3 offer presets; Mode 4 is for no adjustment; Custom allows R/G/B adjustment. |
Color Temp | Warm (reddish), Medium (red/blue balance), Cool (bluish), Manual (fine-tune). |
R/G/B | Customize picture color using Red, Green, and Blue. |
Six Color | Adjusts hue and saturation of six colors (Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) for desired tone and saturation. |
Black Level | Sets offset level (HDMI only). High: Keeps contrast. Low: Lowers black levels, raises white levels. |
DFC | On: Adjusts brightness automatically. Off: Disables DFC. |
Picture Reset | Resets picture settings. Options: No (cancel), Yes (default). |

DisplayPort Version | Set to match the connected external device's version. |
Buzzer | On: Enables buzzer sound on power on. Off: Disables buzzer. |
OSD Lock | On: Enables OSD lock. Off: Disables OSD lock. (Note: Disables most settings except Brightness, Contrast, Input, OSD Lock, Information). |

Troubleshooting
No Display
- Check power cord connection.
- Check power cable and press power button.
- Ensure correct input is enabled (Settings → Input).
- Wake monitor from sleep mode (move mouse, press key).
- Check if computer is turned on.
Screen Not Current Resolution / Flickering
This occurs when PC graphics card signals are outside the monitor's recommended frequency range. Refer to Product Specification for appropriate frequency settings.
No Signal Message
Signal cable is missing or disconnected. Check and reconnect the cable.
Display Driver Issues
- Install the display driver from http://www.lg.com.
- Ensure graphics card supports Plug and Play.
Features Disabled
OSD is locked. Go to Settings → General and set OSD Lock to Off.
Image Retaining
Displaying a still image for prolonged periods can cause screen damage. Use a screensaver.
Unstable Display / Shadow Trails
Ensure the correct resolution is selected. If using HDMI 1080i, change to 1080p or recommended resolution.
NOTE:
- Vertical Frequency (Hz) is the screen refresh rate.
- Horizontal Frequency (kHz) relates to horizontal line display time.
- Check graphics card resolution/frequency against monitor specifications in Windows Control Panel (→ Display). Settings may vary by OS.
- Incorrect resolution settings can lead to blurred text, dim screen, or misalignment.
- Some resolutions may not be available depending on graphics card performance. Contact manufacturer for assistance.
- Some graphics cards may not support 1920x1080 resolution.
Abnormal Display Color
- Set color to 24-bit or higher (Windows Control Panel → Display → Color Quality).
- Check signal cable connection; reconnect cable or PC graphics card.
- Pixilated spots (red, green, blue, white, black) are normal for LCD screens and not an error.
No Sound from Headphone Port
- Ensure headphone port connections are proper.
- Increase volume using the joystick.
- Set PC audio output to the monitor (Windows Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Sound → Set Monitor as default device).
