Impulse Hand Sealer
AIE-400P
Instruction Manual
This document provides operating instructions, parts information, and specifications for the American International Electric (AIE) Impulse Hand Sealer, including the AIE-400P model.
Overview
This impulse sealer serves the crucial purpose of securing a hermetic seal, impervious to both water and air, facilitating optimal autoclaving procedures.
Key Characteristics
- Compact Design
- Strong Watertight Seal
- Fast Operating
- Power Saving
- Precision Electronic Circuit
- Long Life
Operating Instructions
- Plug the cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The machine will operate only when the sealing arm is completely depressed.
- Adjust the sealing timer knob to a suitable time based on your sealing bag thickness and material on a scale of 1-8 (it is recommended to use the smallest timer number possible while still sealing the bag).
- Insert the bag between the jaws and press the arm down. The red power light will turn on to indicate sealing is taking place. Leave the arm depressed for an additional period after the light turns off for the congealing phase which will strengthen the seal. A longer congealing phase will provide a more secure and consistent seal.
- If the bag sticks to the silicon rubber, the bag needs a longer congealing phase.
- Once the timer knob is set, the machine does not need any time to reset.
- Check the seal. If the seal isn't tight, raise the timer knob to a higher setting and repeat step 3.
- There is no need to remove the plug from the electrical outlet since the machine will not operate until the handle is lowered. No power is consumed.
Notes
- Always keep the sealing platform clean. Leaving any residue will reduce the longevity of the element, PTFE cloth strips, and silicon rubber.
- Do not use moisture to clean the sealing surface.
- Replace torn PTFE cloth immediately. A torn cloth may cause a short circuit and will damage the element wire. Replace the upper PTFE cloth after every heating element replacement. Replace the lower PTFE insulation gofer every two element replacements.
- Only use genuine replacement parts.
- A worn silicon rubber will affect the seal; change the silicon when worn or burned.
- Always unplug the cord from the electrical outlet when servicing your machine.
