TOSOT RV AC Installation Guide
Adjustments may be needed during installation. For reference only.
Installation Requirements
- Power supply with 115-volt, 60-Hz protected with either a 15-amp or 20-amp time-delay fuse or circuit breaker.
- A 14.25" x 14.25" vent hole is needed on the rooftop.
- For ductless systems only. Not for use with ducted systems.
Step 1 Sealing
The image shows the underside of the outdoor RV AC unit chassis. A black foam gasket and a grey sponge with a white sealing strip are being applied to specific recessed areas on the chassis.
Step 2 Outdoor Unit Mounting
Two people are shown lifting a white TOSOT RV Air Conditioner unit onto the roof of a recreational vehicle. The unit is positioned over a vent opening.
Step 3 Upper Duct Plate Installation
A white fabric duct is shown. A rectangular sticker is being peeled off one side of the duct. The duct is then shown being attached to a flat, white plastic plate (the upper duct plate), with the black fabric side facing outwards.
The assembled upper fabric duct and plate are being attached to the main chassis of the outdoor AC unit. Four self-tapping screws are being used to secure it.
Step 4 Ceiling Frame Installation
Hands are shown using a screwdriver to remove four screws from a white ceiling frame assembly, which is part of the indoor ceiling grille unit.
Inside the ceiling assembly, electrical wire bundles are visible. The image shows these bundles being pulled out from a junction box area, indicating preparation for wiring connections.
The ceiling frame is being attached to the RV's rooftop air conditioner. The image illustrates using mounting bolts. Text indicates that 5.3-inch bolts are for roof thicknesses of 1.2-3.15 inches, and 7.5-inch bolts (not included) are for thicknesses of 3.15-5.32 inches.
Step 5 Bottom Duct Plate Installation
The bottom duct plate is being secured to the ceiling frame using four self-tapping screws. The fabric duct is also being fastened on each side. A hand is shown trimming excess fabric.
Step 6 Electric Wiring
The cover of an electrical junction box is being removed, revealing wiring terminals inside.
A power cord is being fed through a circular opening into the junction box.
Inside the junction box, the power cord wires are connected to terminal screws. The black wire is connected to 'L', the white wire to 'N', and the yellow-green wire to the ground terminal. The junction box cover is shown being reinstalled.
A close-up view shows control signal wires being connected to terminals within the display box of the indoor ceiling grille unit.
Step 7 Install the Ceiling Assembly Grille
The white ceiling grille assembly is being fitted into place. Hands are shown using screws to secure the grille to the ceiling frame. The image emphasizes proper positioning, with the control panel facing the front of the RV.
