Regulatory Information
Wireless Adapter Regulatory Information:
Use on aircraft: FCC and FAA regulations prohibit airborne operation of radio frequency wireless devices due to potential interference with aircraft instruments.
The Wireless Adapter and Your Health: The wireless adapter emits radio frequency electromagnetic energy, but at levels lower than other wireless devices like mobile phones. It operates within established radio frequency safety standards.
USA - FCC and FAA: The FCC has adopted safety standards for human exposure to RF energy. This wireless adapter meets these limits. Observe safety precautions: do not touch or move the antenna while transmitting/receiving, do not hold the device so the antenna is close to exposed body parts, and do not operate without the antenna connected.
Explosive device proximity warning: Do not operate this wireless adapter near unshielded blasting caps or in an explosive environment unless the transmitter has been modified.
Interference statement: This equipment has been tested and complies with Class B digital device limits under FCC Rules Part 15. It generates, uses, and can radiate RF energy. If interference occurs, try to correct it by reorienting the antenna, increasing distance, or connecting to a different circuit. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
5 GHz devices only: High-power radars operate in the 5.25 to 5.35 GHz and 5.65 to 5.85 GHz bands and may cause interference or damage. No configuration controls are provided to change operating frequencies outside FCC grant authorization.
FCC RF exposure information (SAR): This device meets government requirements for RF exposure. The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) limit is 1.6 W/kg. Actual SAR levels during operation are typically well below the maximum value. The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this device with all reported SAR levels evaluated as compliant.
Canada – Industry Canada (IC): This device complies with Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to two conditions: no harmful interference, and acceptance of any interference received. The product complies with Canada's portable RF exposure limit for uncontrolled environments.
Notice for 5 GHz devices: Devices operating in the 5150-5350 MHz band are for indoor use only to reduce potential interference to co-channel mobile satellite systems. Maximum antenna gain limits apply for specific bands. Users are advised that high-power radars may cause interference or damage to LE-LAN devices.
Informations sur l'exposition RF (DAS) de la FCC: This section details FCC SAR requirements and compliance, including limits and testing procedures.
Canada – Indústria canadense (IC): This section outlines compliance with Canadian regulations, including RSS standards and RF exposure limits.
Brasil: This equipment operates on a secondary basis and is not protected against harmful interference.
