This unit complies with CSA Standards.

Important Instructions

Before installing and using this product, read and understand these instructions. Keep them for future reference. Failure to follow these instructions may void the warranty and relieve the manufacturer of liability. Adhere to the following instructions to avoid personal injury, property damage, serious injury, or potentially fatal electric shocks.

Modifications by the installer or user will hold them responsible for any resulting damage and may void CSA certification.

Intended Use

For indoor installation only. Ensure the unit is appropriate for its intended use. Refer to the product catalog or a representative if needed.

Recommended Heating Capacity: 1.25 W per ft³ (0.03 m³), equivalent to 10 W per ft² (0.09 m²) for an 8 ft (2.44 m) ceiling. Factors like wall and window insulation affect required capacity. Consult a specialist or the "Calculation Tools/Heating Calculator" on the Stelpro Design website for precise calculations. Insufficient capacity may lead to continuous operation and premature yellowing.

Position

Do not install the unit where objects or furniture could be damaged by heat. Maintain minimum clearances: 6 inches (15 cm) from adjacent surfaces and 6 inches (15 cm) from the floor. Keep combustible materials (furniture, bedding, papers, clothes, curtains) at least 36 inches (90 cm) from the front of the heater and away from the sides and rear. Ensure nearby materials can withstand heat. Do not install on a wall behind a door. Avoid placing the heater where it could impede the opening of nearby furniture drawers or doors.

This unit contains hot and arcing/sparking parts. It is not designed for wet areas or areas with flammable liquids, combustible materials, or corrosive, abrasive, chemical, explosive, or flammable substances (e.g., paint, gasoline, chlorine, sawdust, cleaning products).

Risk of Fire, Electric Shock, Bodily Injury, and Damage

Installation must be performed by a qualified person and connected by a certified electrician according to local codes. Protect the unit with an appropriate circuit breaker or fuse. Ensure line voltage matches the unit's nameplate. The unit must be grounded. Switch off power at the circuit breaker before installation, repair, or cleaning. Keep the unit away from water sources and protected from splashes. Do not use if any part has been immersed, or operate with wet hands or while standing in water.

Temporary odors are normal upon first use or after long periods of inactivity. The unit surfaces become hot during operation; avoid direct skin contact to prevent burns. Allow the unit to cool before touching after shutdown.

Exercise extreme caution when children or invalids are present or when the heater is left unattended. Do not insert foreign objects into ventilation openings to prevent electric shock, fire, or damage.

Maintenance

Do not block air intakes or exhaust to prevent fire. Users are responsible for cleaning dust accumulation from air vents, which can cause malfunction or discoloration. Failure to maintain the unit poses a fire hazard.

Thermal protection activation indicates abnormal operating conditions. If it persists, have the unit examined by a qualified electrician or certified repair center. If the unit is damaged or defective, discontinue use, cut off power, and have it repaired by a certified center.

Save these instructions.
