¹ Intelbras wireless systems are tested to the highest standards for reliability. However, usage and installation scenarios require considerations:
- Transmitters/receivers may be affected by radio signals, natural interference, location, climatic issues, and other adversities impacting data transmission, regardless of frequency or technology, due to varying transmission mediums.
- Devices have internal processing time; data is received after this period.
- Wireless devices require regular testing to identify interference sources and protect against failures.
² The maximum range between the AMT 8000 alarm center and the PGM 8000 expander is up to 600 m with direct line of sight in an open field.

4. Registration at the Center Unit
To register the PGM expander with the alarm center:
- Press the synchronization button on the center unit.
- Press the button on the back of the expander (remove the product from its mounting bracket to access it).
Check the LED on the front of the expander:
- Green flashing: Successful registration.
- Orange flashing: Signal is intermittent or weak.
- Red flashing: Fault occurred; repeat the process.
The expander will be addressed according to the sequence of registration, respecting the limit of 16 devices of this type per center unit.
To check RF signal range: Press the sync button. Green LED indicates correct communication, orange indicates intermittent/weak communication, and red indicates no communication.
For registering other expanders/accessories via keyboard commands or for more information/configurations, refer to the AMT 8000 Alarm Center's complete manual.
Note: Perform the registration process safely, as the alarm center is energized.
5. Installation
The PGM 8000 expander includes a base for fixing to various surfaces like walls. To detach the expander from its base, slide it upwards. To reattach, follow the base's markings.
Fix the base using screws or double-sided tapes (sold separately) onto the desired surface. Arrange the installation wires as shown in the illustration, then fit the expander onto the base. Ensure both the base and the expander are securely fixed.
Diagram Description: The illustration shows the expander's base with a bracket for surface fixing and an output location for installation wires.
Note: Screws, double-sided tape, and other accessories are not included and must be purchased separately.
6. Battery / DC Supply / AC Power / Relay Drive
The PGM 8000 expander has an internal 3 Vdc CR2032 non-rechargeable battery. This battery powers the unit during AC/DC power outages to maintain communication with the center unit; however, the PGM output is deactivated during power loss. The battery connector is internal and not user-accessible for replacement.
The main power is supplied via an AC 100/240 Vac power supply or a 12 Vdc to 24 Vdc source (not included). Connect the power to the indicated locations and the device to be operated as shown.
Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates the PGM 8000 expander's connections. It shows terminals for AC input (110-250 Vac), DC input (12 Vdc or 24 Vdc), and the PGM output (NA, COM, NF). Connections are shown to a power supply and the device to be triggered. The diagram also indicates the location of the synchronization and reset buttons.
Notes:
- The predicted battery life is 3 to 5 years, which can be affected by the availability of DC and/or AC power.
- Power consumption when connected to mains:
- Activated relay: 0.013 A
- Deactivated relay: 0.010 A
7. Operation
The PGM extender is programmable and can trigger various devices such as electric locks, spotlights, auxiliary sirens, buzzers, or almost any electrical device. The PGM output activates upon programmed events and can operate in several modes:
- External triggering
- Password entry
- System activation
- System deactivation
- Medical emergency
- Failure to communicate event
- Phone line failure
- Siren problem
- Panic triggering
- Panic silent triggering
- Fire
- Zone 1 opening
- By remote control
- By time
After an event is restored, the PGM output deactivates. For more information and configurations, refer to the AMT 8000 Alarm Center manual.
