Prior to switching on the phone, a SIM card must be correctly installed.

1 Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Maxcom telephone. This User Manual has been published by the Manufacturer. Corrections and amendments arising from errors and inaccuracies in current data and from the phone or software improvements might be made without prior notifications; they will be, however, included in updated versions of user manuals. 2 Accessories

Use only batteries, chargers, and accessories recommended by the Manufacturer of this phone. Check their availability in your point of sale.

3 Safety Precautions

Reading the guidelines below will minimize the risk of misusing the phone.

Using the Phone

⚠️ The telephone emits electromagnetic fields that might negatively interfere with other electronic devices, including medical equipment.

Never use the phone in areas where the use of mobile phones is prohibited, such as hospitals, refueling points, or in proximity to flammable materials. Using phones in such places might expose others to danger.

Never use the phone while driving.

A device and its accessories might contain small parts. Keep the phone and all parts out of reach of children.

Service

Any repairs or modifications of the phone on your own are not allowed. Any issues should be taken care of by qualified service only.

Cleaning

Never clean the phone with any chemicals or corrosives.

Hearing Aid Compatibility

If the User has a hearing aid, adjust the phone volume and the hearing device sensitivity carefully.

Electronic Medical Equipment

The telephone is a radio transmitter that might negatively interfere with electronic medical devices such as hearing aids, heart pacemakers, and insulin pumps, etc. A distance between the phone and the implanted device should be at least 15 cm. To learn more, contact your health care provider or manufacturers of such equipment.

Waterproof & Dustproof

The phone is not waterproof. Keep it dry at all times. The phone is not dustproof. Never use the phone in a place with increased concentration of dust. Protect the phone against metal chips that might cause the phone to malfunction.

Display Screen

Excessive pressing on the LCD screen and using sharp tools should be avoided as it might cause the screen to be damaged.

Never press the battery contacts with metal objects as doing so might cause an explosion.

Temperature and Humidity

Never expose the phone to either low or high temperature, direct sunlight, and high humidity. Never place the phone next to heating devices such as radiators, heaters, ovens, furnaces, camp fires, barbeque, etc. The maximum allowable ambient temperature is +40 °C.

Hearing Protection

Protect your hearing! Prolonged exposure to loud sounds might damage your hearing. Listen to music at a moderate level, and do not keep the phone too close to an ear while using a speakerphone. Lower the volume prior to using headphones.

4 Emergency Call (112)

To call the emergency number (112), you should:

1. Switch on the phone in a place with sufficient reception.
2. Enter the emergency number 112 and confirm the call with the green handset key ?.

Important! While making a phone call, you are required to give all information to the emergency response officer. Never hang up prior to answering all relevant questions!

5 Basic Information

6 Phone Preparation

6.1 Removing the battery cover

Make sure the power supply is unplugged. In the lower right corner of the phone, gently pry the battery cover with your fingernail and remove it.

6.2 SIM card installation

Insert SIM card into your phone before you start using it. You will receive a SIM card from your operator. Keep the SIM card out of the reach of children.

Any scratch or bend might easily damage the SIM card, therefore be extremely careful while inserting, removing, and storing the SIM card.

6.2.1 SIM1 and SIM2

SIM1 and SIM2 slots are designed to install Nano SIM cards (4FF). Insert the SIM card into the slot with the gold-plated connectors facing down and the beveled corner facing outside the phone.

6.3 Memory card installation

The Micro SD (TF) memory card slot is located on the left side of the SIM2 slot. Insert the Micro SD memory card into the slot with its gold-plated connectors facing down.

Be careful while using memory cards, especially while inserting and removing the card. Some memory cards must be formatted on a computer before the first use.

Regularly make backup copies of data stored on cards used in other devices. Misuse or other factors might damage the card or make the card lose its content.

6.4 Battery installation

Insert the battery, make sure the + / - contacts face correctly, and then replace the battery cover.

6.5 Connecting the AC adapter and charging battery

To ensure proper operation of the phone, use only the charger and battery recommended by the manufacturer. Using a battery from a third-party source may damage the phone and void the warranty.

Connect the cable plug to the USB Type-C port on the phone and the other USB connector to the power supply. Plug the power adapter into a power socket.

The Maxcom logo and the charging battery icon will appear on the display. This indicates that the battery is properly connected and the charging process has started.

When the battery is charged, the message "Charging complete" will appear on the display, and the battery charge level icon will stop flashing in the notification bar.

It is recommended to disconnect the charger after the charging process is completed to extend the battery life.

If the battery is discharged, the phone will automatically turn off. Do not leave the battery discharged for a long time, otherwise it may adversely affect its quality and service life.

Attention! Power socket must be located near the device and easily accessible.

Power delivery by charger must be between a minimum of 0.75 W (required by radio device) and a maximum of 10 W to achieve maximum charging speed.

6.5.1 Desktop charger

First, connect the USB-C cable plug to the desktop charger socket, and then connect the power supply to the power socket. Insert the phone into the charger so that the contacts located on the left side of the housing align with the contacts located in the desktop charger.

Attention! In order not to damage the battery and the phone, you should:

• Check that the battery is installed correctly before charging.
• Do not remove the battery during the charging process.
• In case of long-term discharge, after connecting the battery to charge, wait a few minutes before turning on the phone.
• The battery must not be stored near heat sources. Overheating can cause physical damage to the battery.

6.5.2 Low battery warning

When the battery is low, the phone will alert you to connect to charge with the message "Low battery" and an acoustic signal (if warning sounds have been enabled in the profile).

6.6 Switching on and off the phone

To turn on the phone, press and hold the power key. After a while, the display should light up. After switching on, the display will show a field to select and confirm the system language and a field for entering the PIN code (if SIM card security is enabled). After turning on, the phone automatically searches for the network. If the phone detects an authorized network, the signal strength symbol will appear on the screen. If the network is not found, you can only make emergency calls or use non-communication functions.

When you turn on the device for the first time or after restoring factory settings, you must perform the initial configuration. The first step is to select the device language. Then follow the on-screen device setup steps, including connecting the device to a Wi-Fi network, screen lock setting, logging in or creating a new Google account, etc.

To turn off the phone, press and hold the power key and then select "Power off" in the power Menu. You can also open the power Menu from the notification panel by swiping down the screen and pressing .

In the power Menu, you can also choose to restart the device and make an emergency call, where you can check emergency information. To add and save information, go to Settings > Safety and emergency > Medical information, and then complete the fields.

Attention! If the device freezes and stops responding, restart it by pressing and holding the power key and volume key for at least 7 seconds.

6.7 Security codes

The PIN code is the identification of your SIM card and is provided by your operator. When turning on the phone, you must enter the PIN code if the SIM card has such protection enabled. To enable/disable the PIN code, go to Settings > Security and privacy > More security and privacy > SIM lock. You can change the PIN code by selecting "Change SIM PIN".

Entering the incorrect PIN code 3 times in a row will block the SIM card. It can be unlocked using the PUK code. Entering the PUK code incorrectly 10 times will block the SIM card permanently. To obtain information about the PIN or PUK code, please contact the operator.

7 Touch Display Description

The device is equipped with a touch screen, thanks to which you can fully operate the phone.

Attention! Make sure that the touch screen does not come into contact with water. This may cause malfunctions in the operation of the screen itself and lead to its damage. When the device is not in use, turn off the screen. Leaving the screen idle for long periods of time may result in screen burn-in or ghosting.

7.1 Gestures made with fingers

• Touch: Involves a single touch on the screen. Touching allows you to select an item, shortcut, link, or letter from the on-screen keyboard.
• Touch and hold: Involves touching and holding an item on the screen without lifting your finger until you perform an action.
• Drag: Touch and hold the selected item for a moment and then, without lifting your finger, move it across the screen to the target position.
• Double tap: Involves quickly double-tapping the screen. Double tap allows you to zoom in/out on a website, map, photo, etc.
• Spreading and pinching: Involves touching the screen with two fingers at the same time and then moving them apart / bringing them closer together. Pinch and spread allows you to zoom in/out on a website, map, photo, etc.

7.2 Home screen

From the start screen, you can access all the functions of your device. It displays icons for pointers, application shortcuts, and other elements. The Home screen can contain multiple panels. To view other panels, swipe left or right. Panels can be personalized by dragging application icons wherever you want.

7.2.1 Edit the start screen

The default arrangement of application icons on the start screen can be changed and modified to suit your needs. To change the position of a given icon, drag it to a new position and drop it in the selected place (move your finger perpendicularly from the screen). To place an icon on a different panel, drag it to the right or left edge. When the next screen is highlighted, it will be fully displayed after a while. Select a destination and drop the icon.

To add or remove an application icon from the start screen, open "Applications" .

Then tap + or - to add or remove an app icon from the Home screen.

When you drag one app icon over another and then drop it, a folder will be created. You can add more app icons to a folder in the same way. To remove an application icon from a folder, drag and drop it on the start screen.

7.3 Status bar and notification panel

Notifications at the top of the screen (status bar) inform you about the status of some device functions (missed call, new message, alarm, Wi-Fi enabled, etc.).

The table below shows the most common notification icons (depending on the software version, the appearance of the icons may vary slightly):

To see the notification panel, slide the status bar down.

To view more details, tap the ? for the selected notification.

Tap a selected notification to open the app for which the notification applies.

To remove a notification, swipe it sideways.

7.4 Turn the screen on and off

When the phone is turned on but no action is taken, it remains in standby mode. After the idle time has passed, the phone will turn off and lock the screen. This action can be performed manually by pressing the power key. To turn on the screen, press the power key. If you have enabled screen lock, you must also enter the correct password to unlock the phone.

7.5 Quick volume settings

You can quickly change the volume for media, calls, ringtones, notifications, and alarm while using various functions or while idle. To do this, press the volume key and use the slider to adjust the volume of the media being played. To adjust the volume of other functions, press ..., and then use the sliders to make changes. From here you can select Settings ⚙️ to open a full list of sound and vibration settings.

To turn on silent or vibration mode, tap the icon above the slider and select the appropriate ? or ?.

7.6 Data entry

Data is entered using the keyboard, which will be displayed on the screen after touching the appropriate field.

To enter a letter in the edited field, touch the selected key on the keyboard. To enter other letters or numbers, touch and hold the selected key, then, without taking your finger off the screen, select the appropriate character and then remove your finger from the screen.

To edit text at a selected location, tap it to move the cursor. You can move this cursor by touching and holding it, and then dragging it to the desired location. You can also perform this action using the spacebar and then swipe left or right.

Touch and hold the text at the desired location to select a section of text. You can change the selected part by dragging the indicator or , or select > Select all. You can then cut or copy the selected text fragment. It will be saved to your clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere. To do this, touch and hold the text in the selected place and select Paste.

When entering data, touch the ❌ icon to delete a letter or character, etc.

To enter only capital letters, double-tap or tap and hold the capital letter input ⬆️ icon.

To change the displayed keyboard functions, enter "More functions" and then drag the selected item and drop it into the keyboard functions area.

7.7 Screenshot

To take a screenshot, press the power key and the volume key at the same time. The screenshots taken will be saved in the phone's memory in the "Screenshots" folder (Applications > Files > Internal storage > Pictures > Screenshots).

7.8 Screen recording

To record your screen:

1. Open the quick settings panel and tap the "Screen record" tile.
2. Select audio recording and screen touching options.
3. Tap "Start" (a countdown will appear in the notification bar, and after a while the screen recording will start).
4. Open the notification panel and tap "Stop" to stop recording.

The screen recordings will be saved in the phone's memory in the "Movies" folder (Applications > Files > Internal storage > Movies).

8 Phone Book

8.1 Saving contacts

There are several options for creating and saving contacts. In standby mode, you should:

1. Open the Contacts app ?, then tap the new contact icon ➕ in the lower right corner.

Now select whether the contact is to be saved in the device memory or SIM card or on the selected account. Then enter contact details such as name, surname, and telephone number. Additionally, you can add a photo and other detailed data, but this is not required.

After adding all the data, confirm the saved contact you created. To do this, tap ?.

2. Open the Telephone app ?, then tap the numeric keypad icon ? in the lower right corner. Then enter the phone number and select "Create new contact".

Then proceed as described above.

3. Open the Phone app ?, then open the Recents tab at the bottom of the screen. Select one number from your call log and tap it. Then select "Create new contact".

Then proceed as described above.

8.2 Browse contacts

To view saved contacts, you need to open the Contacts application or Telephone > Contacts in standby mode. Scroll through the contact list by moving it up and down. Once you find your desired contact, tap on it to view its details. From this level, you can perform various actions related to the selected contact, e.g., call, send an SMS/MMS message, edit, change the ringtone individually for this contact, add the contact to your favourites, or delete it, etc.

8.3 Editing contacts

To edit a selected contact, touch the icon ✏️ in the upper right corner.

8.4 Deleting contacts

To delete a contact from the phone memory, SIM card, or account:

1. Select Contacts ?.
2. Touch and hold the selected contact to select it. If you want to delete more contacts, select them all.
3. Touch the icon ?️.
4. Touch Delete.

In case of a mistake, touch the selected contact again and then proceed as described above.

9 Calls

9.1 Dialling calls

9.1.1 From the numeric keypad

1. Open the Telephone application ?.
2. Open the numeric keypad ?.
3. Enter the number you want to call.
4. Tap the green handset ? to make a call.
5. To end the call, press the red receiver ?.

For international calls, you must enter "+" or "00" before the number. The "+" sign is available by pressing and holding the key 0.

9.1.2 From the phone book

1. Open the Contacts ? or Telephone ? application.
2. Open the Contacts tab.
3. Select contact.
4. Tap the icon ? to make a call.

9.1.3 From the call log

1. Open the Telephone ? application.
2. Open the Recents tab.
3. Select one item from the list.
4. Tap the icon ? to make a call.

9.1.4 Speed dial

Swipe the Home screen left to display the speed dial panel. You can assign up to 6 phone numbers. To do this, tap one of the icons M1 to M6. Then enter the name and phone number or select a contact from Contacts, and you can also assign a photo.

After completing the data, touch the Save icon ?. To make a call to a saved number, simply touch the appropriate icon.

9.2 Options during a call

During an ongoing call, a list of functions will be displayed on the screen:

When the phone is placed against your face with the call speaker facing your ear and the bottom of the phone towards your mouth, the screen will automatically turn off. When you move the phone away from your face, the screen will be highlighted.

The Speaker option activates the speakerphone mode, and the call will be played through the speaker at the bottom of the phone.

Attention! If you press the HOME key during an ongoing call, you will go to the Home screen. To return to the ongoing call, open the notification panel and tap "On-going call".

9.3 Incoming calls

If there is an incoming call when the screen is turned off, the appropriate interface will be displayed on the screen, and a ringtone will be activated (if silent mode has not been activated).

To answer an incoming call, slide the handset icon ⬆️ up.

To reject an incoming call, slide the handset icon ⬇️ down.

To reject an incoming call and send a reply SMS message, tap the icon ✉️ in the lower left corner of the screen and slide it up, then select one of the pre-made messages or write your own.

However, if an incoming call occurs when the screen was turned on and unlocked, the appropriate interface will be displayed at the top of the screen.

If the phone number from the incoming call has been assigned to a contact, the contact's name will be displayed on the screen.

If the phone number of an incoming call has been hidden or the network prohibits call indication, then ****** or "Unknown" will be displayed on the screen.

9.4 Call settings

Open the Telephone ? application > Options ⋮ > Settings ⚙️. Available options:

• Display options,
• Sounds and vibration,
• Quick responses,
• Calling accounts: fixed dialling numbers, Wi-Fi calling, call forwarding, call barring and additional settings,
• Blocked numbers,
• Voicemail,
• Accessibility,
• About.

10 Call Logs

Open the Telephone ? application and then go to the Recent tab. Here you will find a list of all recorded calls. This log lists all types of connections, sorting them from the newest, which means that each next connection will be displayed at the top of the list.

You can also open Recents via Options ⋮ in the top right corner.

Select one item and tap it. A list of options relating to the selected number will be displayed. The available options are:

• Create new contact,
• Add to a contact,
• Send a message,
• Block number,
• Call details.

You can also view another list of options by touching and holding the selected number. The available options are:

• Copy number,
• Edit number before call,
• Block number,
• Delete.

To delete the entire call history, go to Options ⋮ in the upper right corner and select "Clear call history" > OK.

11 SMS and MMS Messages

The phone allows you to send and receive SMS text messages and multimedia MMS.

11.1 Writing and sending SMS and MMS

1. Open the Messages application ?.
2. Tap the "Start chat" tile.
3. In the upper text field, enter the phone number, contact name, or add a contact from the phone book. If the message is to be sent to several numbers, select "Create group" and add all recipients.

Enter your message in the lower text box.

5. Tap the icon ✈️ to send the message.

11.2 Reading and replying to SMS and MMS

Messages sent and received will be grouped separately for each recipient.

11.3 Deleting messages

To delete a selected message, touch and hold the selected message and then touch the icon ?️.

To delete an entire chat, follow the same steps.

11.4 Message settings

Open the Message application ? > Account ? (in top right corner, the icon displayed depends on the account) > Messages settings ⚙️. Available options:

• RCS chats,
• Notifications,
• Bubbles,
• Send photos faster,
• Hear outgoing and incoming message sounds,
• Pinch to zoom conversation text,
• Show expressive animations,
• Choose theme,
• Your current country,
• Suggestions,
• Automatic previews,
• Spam protection,
• Swipe actions,
• Advanced: group messaging, auto-download MMS, auto-download MMS when roaming, use simple characters, get SMS delivery reports, service messages, show iPhone reactions as emoji, wireless emergency alerts, SIM card messages, phone number and SMSC,

12 Applications

Below is a description of some of the applications available on your phone.

Application icons may vary depending on software version.

Full access to applications provided by Google requires logging in to your Google account. For more information about applications, select the help option.

12.1 Camera

The device is equipped with two lenses, front and rear, and they are operated using various applications. To open the Camera app, tap the ? icon on the Home screen or press the power key twice. This application allows you to take photos and record videos.

To take a photo you need to:

• Adjust the zoom by pinching and spreading your fingers.
• Focus by touching the screen at the desired location.
• Adjust the brightness using the slider on the right side of the circle ⚪.
• Touch the ? icon to take a photo.

To lock focus and exposure, touch and hold the screen in the selected place. Auto focus and exposure will be disabled, allowing you to take clear photos and videos when objects move or there is light intensity in front of the lens changes.

Tap the ☰ icon in the top left corner to open the mode panel where you can select the QR code scanner. Tap the ⚙️ icon to open camera settings. In this settings section, you can adjust the scene mode, self-timer, picture size, white balance, etc.

To record a video you need to:

• Turn on "Video" mode, swipe the screen to the right or tap "Video".
• Tap the ? icon to start recording. While recording, you can change zoom, focus, and brightness in the same way as for photos.
• Touch the ⏹️ icon to end recording.

You can pause the recording process and then resume it by touching the ▶️ icon and then ⏸️.

Files of captured photos and video recordings will be saved in the device's memory in the "Camera" folder (Applications > Files > Internal storage > DCIM > Camera).

12.2 SOS

The phone is equipped with an SOS button located on the back of the device. Its operation is configured using the SOS application. Go to the Home screen and swipe right, then tap the ? icon to open the application. The SOS key is not active by default. To enable it, go to Status > On > Save. When this function is activated, pressing and holding the SOS key will activate the emergency procedure. This means that the phone will call the phone number that has been added to "SOS contacts". To add a number to "SOS contacts", tap ➕ and then enter the details manually or select from contacts. Then tap the Add icon ➕ > Save. To delete a contact, tap ➖ > Save. If no number has been added, the telephone call will be directed to the emergency number 112.

If no call is received, the phone will send an SMS SOS to the numbers provided. The text of the message is "Please help me! I am in an emergency!". To edit this message, go to "SMS SOS", where you can also disable this option.

Once the call ends, the phone will remain in SOS mode for at least one hour. To deactivate SOS mode, press and hold the SOS key again.

13 Settings

In standby mode, enter Settings ⚙️ and then select one of the available functions.

Tap "Search settings" to search for the settings you are interested in.

14 FAQ (Troubleshooting)

Only qualified service workers are authorized to repair the phone. Any attempts of unauthorized repair and modifications void the warranty!

15 Device Overheating

During use or charging, the phone may emit more heat, which will result in an increase in its temperature. This process is natural; however, when the phone becomes too hot, you should stop using or charging the phone and wait until the temperature of the device cools down.

To reduce energy consumption that causes the device to heat up, you can:

• Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, location, hotspot, and tethering (if not in use).
• Reduce the screen brightness.
• Close applications that are not in use or running in the background.
• Remove unnecessary applications and files.
• Restart your device.

16.3 SAR information

Information about the impact of radio waves and Specific Absorption Rate [SAR]. This phone model has been designed to meet all international standards pertaining to the impact of radio waves as recommended by international guidelines. These guidelines were developed by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), an independent scientific organization with a safety margin to protect all people regardless their age and health condition. Such guidelines use a unit of measurement called Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) – actual absorption. As recommended by ICNIRP, the border value of SAR for portable equipment is 2.0 watts per kilogram (W/kg), and it is an average value per 10kg of tissue. SAR value is determined at the maximum transmit power and in the full spectrum of frequencies covered by research; the actual SAR value while the product is working might be much lower than the maximum level. Such discrepancies result from automatic changes in device power necessary to ensure that the device operates at a minimum power level required to be connected with network.

This device was tested for typical body-worn operations. To comply with RF exposure requirements, a minimum separation distance of 5mm must be maintained between the user's body and the handset, including the antenna. Third-party belt-clips, holsters, and similar accessories used by this device should not contain any metallic components. Body-worn accessories that do not meet these requirements may not comply with RF exposure requirements and should be avoided. Use only the supplied or an approved antenna.

17 Battery Information

There is a battery in the phone that is supposed to provide emergency power in case of power blackout. This battery is charged with the AC Adapter, included in the set.

The telephone life powered by the battery depends exclusively on conditions under which the phone is used. Your distance from a relay transmitter, number, and the length of phone calls significantly reduce its life.

After multiple charges and discharges, it is natural for the battery to eventually lose its ability to hold charge. Get a new battery as soon as you notice a significant drop in the battery performance.

Use only batteries recommended by the Manufacturer.

Never keep the phone in places with too high temperature; doing so might negatively impact the battery and the phone.

Never use the battery that is clearly damaged; doing so might damage the phone. The battery must be positioned according to its polarization.

Leaving the battery in places with too high or too low temperature will reduce its life. The battery should be kept in the temperature between 15°C and 25°C.

18 Protect Your Environment

Old batteries pose environmental risks. They should be disposed of at a special place in a special container in compliance with current regulations. Never throw old batteries or chargers to municipal solid waste; they should be collected for disposal.

NEVER PUT BATTERIES AND CHARGERS INTO FIRE!

Important! The phone is marked in compliance with the European Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive of 2012/19/UE (WEEE) and the Polish Act on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, and with the symbol of waste electricals.

Such a symbol tells us that the device, after use, must not be disposed of in the normal household waste stream.

Important! Never throw the phone nor accessories to municipal solid waste!!! The product should be utilized in authorized places only.
