In Case of Anomaly: If you notice strange sounds, smells, or smoke, turn off the power, unplug the USB cable, and consult a Sony support center or retailer.
Warning Categories
- ⚠️ Warning: Failure to follow these instructions may result in death or serious injury due to fire or electric shock.
- ❗ Danger: Failure to follow these instructions may result in death or serious injury due to fire, electric shock, leakage, overheating, or explosion.
- ℹ️ Caution: Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to surrounding property due to electric shock or other accidents.
Specific Warnings & Prohibitions
- ? Do Not Use Near Fire Sources: Do not place open flames (e.g., lit candles) on or near the unit. This can cause fire.
- ? Do Not Use in Vehicles: The unit may fall under the brake pedal, obstructing driving and causing accidents or injury.
- ? Do Not Insert Water or Foreign Objects into Terminals (behind cap): This can cause short circuits, leading to malfunction or failure. If water or foreign objects enter, stop use immediately and consult a Sony support center or retailer.
- ? Do Not Block Heat Dissipation: Do not cover the unit with cloth, place it on thick carpets or bedding, or install it in confined spaces like bookshelves or built-in cabinets where ventilation is obstructed. This can impede heat dissipation, leading to deformation, fire, or electric shock due to overheating.
- ? Do Not Disassemble: Do not disassemble. This can cause battery leakage or explosion, leading to injury. For internal inspection and repair, consult a Sony support center or retailer.
- ? Do Not Use/Store/Leave in High-Temperature Locations: Avoid locations near fire, direct sunlight, or inside hot vehicles. This can cause battery leakage, explosion, overheating, fire, injury, or soiling of surroundings. If the battery leaks, keep it away from flames immediately.
- ? Do Not Use/Store/Leave in Humid or Dusty Environments: Avoid locations with high humidity, dust, oil smoke, or steam. This can cause cabinet deformation/discoloration or short circuits in terminals, leading to malfunction or failure.
- ❗ Danger - Battery Leakage: If the internal battery leaks, do not touch the liquid with bare hands. Consult a Sony support center or retailer as liquid may remain inside the unit. If liquid gets into eyes, do not rub; rinse immediately with clean water (tap water) and seek medical attention. If liquid gets on skin or clothing, wash immediately with clean water to prevent burns or injury, and consult a doctor if skin irritation or injury occurs.
- ℹ️ Battery Handling (General): The unit contains a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
- The unit's temperature may rise during charging or prolonged use, but this is not a malfunction.
- Do not use, store, or leave batteries in high-temperature locations (near fire, direct sunlight, etc.).
- Do not use, store, or leave batteries in extremely low temperatures, as this can cause thermal runaway.
- Do not disassemble or modify batteries.
- If battery leakage occurs, do not touch the electrolyte directly. If it contacts skin or eyes, wash the affected area with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
- If stored for a long period without repeated charging/discharging, performance may not be as expected.
- Dispose of properly.
- ℹ️ Caution - Water Resistance: To prevent reduced waterproof performance, ensure the cap is completely closed during use.

Disposal
ℹ️ Caution - Rechargeable Battery Disposal in Japan: The built-in rechargeable battery can be recycled. Do not attempt to remove the battery yourself; consult a "Sony Support Center".
? Do Not Dispose of with General Waste (Non-combustible waste): This can cause fire or explosion.
Frequency and Wireless Information
The unit uses the 2.4 GHz band (2.4000 GHz to 2.4835 GHz). Other wireless devices may use the same frequency. To prevent interference, observe the following:
This frequency band is used by industrial, scientific, and medical devices, as well as mobile identification systems, private wireless stations, specified low-power radio stations, and amateur radio stations.
- Before using this unit, confirm that no mobile identification systems, private wireless stations, or amateur radio stations are operating nearby.
- If harmful radio interference occurs with a private wireless station, change the operating frequency or stop transmission immediately. Contact the provided contact information for advice on interference avoidance measures (e.g., installing partitions).
- If any other issues arise, such as harmful interference with specified low-power radio stations or amateur radio stations, contact the Sony Support Center.
Radio Specification: 2.4FH4/XX8. FH4 uses FH-SS modulation with a 40m interference distance. XX8 uses other modulation with an 80m interference distance.
Important information is displayed on the back of the unit's cap.

Usage Precautions
Placement
Do not place in locations with direct sunlight, near lighting, heating appliances, saunas, or other high-temperature areas. Do not place in a closed car interior (especially in summer). Avoid areas exposed to hot air from hair dryers.
Place on a flat surface. Placing on an inclined surface can cause the unit to vibrate, fall, and lead to injury, malfunction, or performance degradation.
The unit is not magnetically shielded. Do not place watches, magnetic cards, or tapes on or near the unit. Be careful when carrying it.
Care Instructions
The fabric parts have water-repellent treatment. Proper care extends usability.
- Cleaning: If the surface gets dirty, wash it promptly with clean water (tap water) to remove dirt. Leaving dirt on may cause discoloration, deterioration of fabric/passive radiator, or unit malfunction. Examples: salt/sand from sea/pool, sweat, sunscreen/sun oil.
- Cleaning Agents: Do not use neutral detergent, thinner, benzine, or alcohol, as these can affect the water-repellent function.
- Removing Sand: If sand gets into fabric parts, remove it gently. Do not use a vacuum cleaner, as it may damage speaker units.
BLUETOOTH® Communication
Noise or sound interruption may occur depending on the connected Bluetooth device, communication environment, or surrounding conditions.
Radio waves from Bluetooth devices can affect medical electronic equipment. Turn off the unit and Bluetooth device in the following locations to prevent accidents: hospitals, near priority seats on trains, areas with flammable gases (e.g., gas stations), near automatic doors or fire alarms.
Other Notes
- Charging may stop if the ambient temperature is too high or too low. If charging continues for a long time, it may also stop. Try unplugging and replugging the USB cable within the charging temperature range (5°C to 35°C).
- To prevent internal battery degradation during long periods of non-use, charge the battery once every six months.
Water and Dust Resistance
Read Before Use: Accessories are not water/dust resistant.
Unit Performance: The unit complies with JIS C0920 "Degrees of protection provided by enclosures (IP Code)" for water resistance (equivalent to IPX7) and dust resistance (equivalent to IP6X), provided the caps are securely closed.
- Accessories and unit terminals (USB) are not water/dust resistant. To reduce fire/electric shock risk, do not expose the unit to water or water droplets while using terminals (USB).
- Malfunctions due to water ingress or dust penetration caused by incorrect handling are not covered by warranty.
Maintaining Performance
- Shock Resistance: The unit has passed a drop test from 1.22m onto a 5cm thick plywood board, compliant with MIL-STD-810H Method 516.8-Shock. However, this does not guarantee no damage, malfunction, or loss of water/dust resistance under all conditions. Do not drop or impact the unit, as deformation or damage can degrade performance.
- Temperature: Do not pour hot water directly onto the unit or expose it to direct hot air from hair dryers. Do not use in high-temperature locations like saunas or near heating appliances.
- Cap Handling: Be careful with the cap. It plays a crucial role in maintaining water/dust resistance. Ensure it is completely closed during use. If the cap is not fully closed due to dirt or gaps, water/dust may enter and cause malfunction.
