1959 Magnetic Body Mounts Assembly Instructions
Disclaimer
This kit contains 3D printed parts designed to support your vehicle's body using magnets. It is important to avoid bending or manipulating the parts as they are thin and have little support until the magnet is set. Once installed, the parts will be strong. Magnets may fit loosely depending on manufacturer dimensions, but the mounts are designed to hold them securely.

Chassis Mount Installation
Rear Chassis Mount Installation
Step 1: Prepare Rear Chassis Mount
Take the rear chassis mount (Part A). Identify the marking above where the magnet will sit. This marking should point towards the rear of the chassis when installed.
Rear Chassis Mount Detail
A close-up of the rear chassis mount (Part A) showing a small marking circled in red, indicating the orientation for installation.
Step 2: Insert Magnet into Rear Chassis Mount
Take a 60x10x3mm magnet and place it into the empty slot of the rear chassis mount. The orientation of the magnet does not matter at this stage, but will be important for the body mounts.
Magnet Insertion into Rear Chassis Mount
A hand is shown holding a screwdriver, but the focus is on the rear chassis mount with the magnet slot visible, ready for the magnet.
Step 3: Secure Magnet and Mount to Chassis
After the magnet is in place, pinch the mount and magnet together by placing your index finger on the magnet and thumb on the flat side of the mount. This ensures the magnet stays secure during installation.
Securing Magnet in Mount
A hand is shown pinching the rear chassis mount and the inserted magnet together to prevent the magnet from dislodging.
Align the clips on the mount with the holes previously used for the rear body posts on the chassis. Ensure the marked portion of the mount faces the rear. Apply even pressure on the opposite flat side of the mount until you hear a click, indicating it is seated properly. Proceed slowly when installing the clips into the chassis.
Mounting to Chassis
A hand is shown aligning the clips of the rear chassis mount with the corresponding holes on the vehicle's chassis. The mount is being pressed into place.
Step 4: Repeat for Remaining Clip
While pressing down on the mount, remove your index finger to ensure the magnet remains seated. You can switch hands to repeat the process for installing the remaining clip.
Securing Second Clip
Two images show hands pressing down on the rear chassis mount, demonstrating how to secure the second clip onto the chassis.
Front Chassis Mount Installation
Step 1: Insert Magnet into Front Chassis Mount
Take a 60x10x3mm magnet and insert it into the empty slot of the front chassis mount (Part E). It is recommended to start with the magnet pressing against the tab of the mount and sliding it until the tab secures the magnet.
Magnet Insertion into Front Chassis Mount
A hand is shown inserting a magnet into the slot of the front chassis mount, demonstrating the sliding motion against the tab.
Magnet Seated in Front Chassis Mount

Step 2: Install Front Chassis Mount onto Chassis
After the magnet is seated, install the front chassis mount onto the vehicle chassis. Use the M3x8mm screws (Part F) and washers (Part G) from the kit. These will secure the mount using the existing holes for the stock front body posts.
Note the shape of the front chassis mount: one side has a flat surface that must face the front of the chassis. Position the mount so its lip is flush with the front face of the chassis.
Front Chassis Mount Placement
The front chassis mount is shown being positioned on the front of the vehicle chassis, aligning with the body post holes.
Underside View of Front Chassis Mount Area
An underside view of the vehicle chassis, showing the area where the front chassis mount will be attached.
Step 3: Secure Front Chassis Mount
Place the washers onto the screws and drive them into the front chassis mount. Do not fully tighten them yet. Check that the mount aligns correctly with the pictures. Adjust as needed and then tighten the screws. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, as this can strip the part and compromise its holding strength.
Securing Front Chassis Mount with Screws
A hand is shown using a screwdriver to attach the front chassis mount to the chassis using screws and washers. The image shows the screws being driven into the mount.
Body Mount Installation
Rear Body Mount Installation
Step 1: Determine Magnet Polarity
Magnets for the body and chassis must attract each other. Place a 60x10x3mm magnet over the installed rear chassis mount. Note which side of the magnet attracts to the chassis mount. It is recommended to mark this side with a permanent marker.
Magnet on Rear Chassis Mount
Two images show a hand placing a magnet onto the installed rear chassis mount on the vehicle, demonstrating how to test attraction.
Step 2: Install Magnet into Rear Body Mount
Place the magnet into the rear body mount (Part B), ensuring it sits flat. If you marked the magnet, the unmarked side should face upwards within the mount. Double-check that the rear body mount with the magnet attracts to the rear chassis mount. If they repel, flip the magnet in the rear body mount.
Magnet in Rear Body Mount
A hand is shown placing the magnet into the rear body mount (Part B). The magnet is positioned flat within the mount.
Step 3: Attach Rear Magnet Cover
Install the rear magnet cover (Part C) onto the rear body mount. Insert the lid against the wall where the tab is located. Press the back half of the lid into place until it is flush with the outside surface.
Attaching Rear Magnet Cover
Two images show the rear magnet cover (Part C) being attached to the rear body mount (Part B). The lid is being snapped into place.
Step 4: Prepare Rear Body Mount Attachment
Remove the four rear screws securing the original rear body mount to the bumper of the FiftyNine body. Also, remove the two screws from the taillight assembly (marked in the image). Keep all removed screws safe for later use.
Removing Original Rear Body Mount Screws
The rear of the RC car body is shown. Several screws securing the original body mount and taillight assembly are circled in red.
Install the spacers (Part D) onto the last two posts that hold the bumper, as shown in the image.
Installing Spacers
A hand is shown using a screwdriver to attach spacers to posts on the rear bumper assembly of the car body.
Step 5: Install Rear Body Mount
Install the new rear body mount using the original screws from the taillight assembly and the middle portion of the rear bumper. Use the remaining screws to fasten the posts with the spacers installed.
Installed Rear Body Mount
The rear body mount and spacers are shown installed on the car body.
Front Body Mount Installation
Step 1: Prepare Front Body Mount Attachment
Remove the two screws holding the front body post to the front bumper. Set these screws aside; they will be used to secure the new front body mount.
Removing Front Body Post Screws
The front of the RC car body is shown. Two screws holding the front body post to the bumper are circled in red.
Step 2: Install Front Body Mount
Install the front body mount (Part H) using the removed screws. Ensure the thin wall side faces away from the front bumper and the tab of the mount faces towards the hood of the body.
Front Body Mount Installed
The front body mount is shown installed on the car body, ready for the magnet.
Step 3: Determine Front Magnet Polarity
Take a 60x10x3mm magnet and place it onto the front chassis mount. Note which side of the magnet attracts to the front chassis mount. It is recommended to mark this side with a permanent marker.
Magnet on Front Chassis Mount
A magnet is shown being placed onto the front chassis mount on the vehicle chassis.
Step 4: Insert Magnet into Front Body Mount
Insert the marked magnet into the empty slot of the front body mount. The marked side should face away from the front bumper. Start with the corner of the magnet pressing against the tab and slide it until the tab secures the magnet.
Magnet Insertion into Front Body Mount
Two images show the magnet being inserted into the front body mount, demonstrating the sliding motion against the tab.
Final Installation and Use
Attaching the Body
Congratulations, the mounts are fully installed! When placing the FiftyNine body onto the chassis, attach the front first, then swing the rear onto the chassis mount.
Removing the Body
To remove the body, detach the rear first and swing it towards the front. Ensure the fenders clear the chassis when the body is attached.
