Operating Instructions

1. Positioning your AR20:

Place your AR20 on a smooth and stable surface, close to a mains power socket. Once positioned, lock the front wheels to ensure stability.

2. Connecting to the mains:

Use the provided cable to connect the machine to the mains. This cable has a mains connection and a specific blue power supply connector for the machine. Connect the cable to the mains and then to your AR20 by turning the blue connector to the right.

Note for three-phase TEGRAS compressor models: Check that the power phase supply is correctly connected. The compressor has a device to detect the sequence of power lines to prevent incorrect operation. The mains connector has two interchangeable pins for ensuring the correct order of phases.

3. Using with Tegras or Tecai brushing robot:

These connections are used with the Tegras Multipro and Tecai Element Auto, requiring a combined hose (pneumatic and electrical) not supplied with the AR20. If connecting to other Tegras or Tecai machines, use a hose with only pneumatic connections (also not supplied). The following describes the connection with a Tecai Multipro.

Pneumatic connection: Connect the combined hose to your AR20. Connect the combined hose to the pneumatic inlet connection of the TEGRAS MULTIPRO.

Disconnecting pneumatic connection: Stop the AR20. Operate the connected tool to release any remaining compressed air. Turn the AR20's on/off switch to the left to stop it. Disconnect the combined hose from the TEGRAS MULTIPRO's inlet connection. Disconnect the combined hose from your AR20.

Power connection: Connect the combined hose to your AR20 by turning the blue connector to the right. Connect the combined hose to the mains connection of the Tegras Multipro by turning the blue connector to the right.

Disconnecting power connection: Disconnect the blue electrical connection from the Tegras Multipro by turning the blue connector to the left and pulling it out. Disconnect the blue electrical connection of the AR20 by turning the blue connector to the left and pulling it out.

4. Using the auxiliary tool:

Use a low-pressure hose for this connection. Connect the low-pressure hose to the AR20. Connect the low-pressure hose to the pneumatic intake connection on the auxiliary tool.

Disconnecting auxiliary tool connection: Stop the AR20. Operate the tool to release compressed air. Turn the AR20's on/off switch to the left to stop it. Disconnect the low-pressure hose from the intake connection on the pneumatic tool. Disconnect the low-pressure hose from the AR20.

5. Turning on the AR20:

Once the tool or machine is connected, turn on the AR20 using the side switch. Start the AR20 by turning the on/off switch to the right. You should hear the compressor working. If not, check the electric connection.

Important Notes:

  • The compressor should not be started with internal pressure, as this may cause serious damage. To purge pressure, keep TEGRAS equipment running on compressed air when the compressor is turned off.
  • When the compressor is working and loaded, the oil level must be around the halfway mark of the indicator. If too low, top up with the appropriate TEINNOVA oil.

6. Stopping the AR20:

Turn off the AR20 when work is finished and unplug it. Stop the AR20 by turning the on/off switch to the left. Remove the AR20 from the mains by turning the blue connector to the left and pulling it out.

Transport

The machine is designed for transport in a small van. When transporting, it should be firmly tied to prevent damage. It must be placed in its normal working position (vertical) with the front wheel brakes engaged. Placing the machine on a transport pallet or similar is not advised. The machine must be placed on a completely flat and horizontal surface.

Important Note: The machine must be transported in its working position. Never on its side.

Maintenance and Care

Keep the machine clean and protected from the weather.

Important Notes:

  • When work is finished, remember to purge the internal pressure of the compressor. The AR20 compressed air generator must not be started while there is internal pressure, as it may seriously damage the machine.
  • DO NOT use flammable liquids or products not approved under current legislation to clean the AR20 compressed air generator.

The AR20 has a safety system that stops the compressor when the interior temperature exceeds the optimal operating value. This system uses two temperature sensors. If either sensor detects a temperature too high for operation, the compressor will stop to prevent component damage. The machine must cool down before being used again.

The oil, filters, O-rings, oil and water separator, and oil return valve must be changed after 5000 hours of work or one and a half years. This general revision should be performed by TEINNOVA's technical service. Additionally, check the oil level weekly, clean the intake filter monthly, and test the electrical installation every six months.

Maintenance Operations:

1. Lubrication of the AR20:

Use only the necessary amount of lubricant for the AR20, as too much or too little can cause damage. Carefully clean any oil or grease left over after lubrication. The oil must be changed when the machine is warm and the compressor is completely depressurized. The oil temperature should be between 25°C and 30°C. Check the pressure gauge to ensure there is no internal pressure, confirming successful depressurization.

Recommended Lubricant: The lubricant recommended by TEINNOVA for the AR20 is ROTOROIL 8000 F2.

Diagram Description: Illustrations show checking the pressure gauge, the oil level indicator, and replacing seals (gaskets) after changing the oil. Ensure quick replacement of the filling intake tap and discharge valve to prevent dust or particles from entering the machine.

2. Cleaning and/or replacing the air filter:

Loosen the locking bolts and remove the cover to access the air filter. Remove the filter cartridge for replacement or cleaning. It should be changed after 5000 hours of work or sooner if in bad condition.

Note: Obstruction of the filter increases electricity consumption and can cause mechanical part failure due to poor cooling.

Cleaning Procedure: Clean the filter with compressed air, directing the jet from the inside of the cartridge. After cleaning or replacing the cartridge, clean the housing and cover, ensuring no dirt enters the aspiration intake. Finally, tighten the locking bolts.

3. Cleaning and/or replacing the return valve:

Loosen the locking bolts and remove the aspiration cover to access the return valve. Once the oil tank is accessible, loosen the oil return valve (2) and remove the sintered filter (3). If the sintered filter has hard encrusted dirt, it should be replaced.

Important Note: Replace the O-rings (1) when performing this maintenance task, as shown in the second image.

Cleaning Procedure: Clean the valves with mild detergent and compressed air to remove dirt. Aim the compressed air directly at the valves. After cleaning or replacing parts, install them, put the aspiration cover back on, and tighten the locking bolts.

4. Replacing the air-oil separator:

Loosen the locking bolts and remove the aspiration cover to replace the return valve. Once the air-oil separator (2) is accessible, extract and replace it with a new one. The longitudinal seal of the separator must be oriented towards the inside of the compressor.

Installation: After replacing the air-oil separator, install the parts, ensuring the O-rings (1) are correctly positioned in their housings. Applying a film of grease can help keep them in place during assembly. Reattach the aspiration cover and tighten the locking bolts.
