Introduction & Safety
This guide provides essential steps to quickly set up and operate the Avanti Airless Paint, Primer & Stain Sprayer. It emphasizes safety, proper priming, spraying techniques, and cleaning procedures. Always refer to the Owner's Manual for comprehensive instructions.
Important Safety Information:
- Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles, NIOSH-approved respirator, and heavy-duty work gloves.
- Use only water-based materials or materials with a minimum flash point of 38°C (100°F).
- Use water or mineral spirits for priming and cleaning.
- Be aware of high-pressure injection risks; lock the trigger when the gun is not in use.
Setup and Priming
Assemble the sprayer according to the Owner's Manual. Proper priming is crucial for performance and preventing damage.
Priming Process:
- Solvent Priming: Prepare containers for solvent and waste. Place hoses correctly and run solvent through the system until clear.
- Paint Priming: Strain paint and place the suction hose into the paint container. Run paint through the system until it flows cleanly from the spray gun.
Spraying Techniques
Achieve optimal results by maintaining the correct gun angle (upright and perpendicular to the surface) and a consistent distance (10-12 inches) from the workpiece. Move your arm, not just your wrist, for even coverage.
Refer to the Avanti Tip Chart for appropriate tip selection based on paint type and application.
Cleaning and Storage
Immediate cleaning after each use is vital to prevent permanent damage and maintain warranty. Disassemble and clean the filter, nozzle guard, spray tip, and seal using appropriate solvents or soap and water.
For Long-Term Storage, clean the sprayer thoroughly, depressurize it, and use storage fluid. Store the unit in a clean, dry location away from children.
