Safety Precautions Concerning the Battery and Charger

NOTE: This product includes only the tool. The battery and charger are not included. They must be purchased separately.

The 24V-PP350-CT model is compatible with the iON+ 24V system batteries and chargers. For more information, see page 16.

We have spent a great deal of time designing each battery pack to ensure you have batteries that are safe, robust, and have high energy density. The battery cells are equipped with a wide range of safety devices. Each individual cell is initially formatted and its electrical characteristics are recorded. This data is then used exclusively to assemble the best possible battery packs.

Despite all these precautions, always exercise caution when handling the battery. To use the battery safely, the following points must always be observed. Safe use can only be guaranteed if the cells are intact. Improper handling of a battery pack can damage the cells.

IMPORTANT! Analyses confirm that misuse of high-performance batteries and poor maintenance are the main causes of personal and/or material damage.

WARNING! Use only approved replacement batteries. Other types of batteries may damage the power tool and prevent it from functioning properly, which could lead to serious personal injury.

WARNING! Do not use a damaged or modified battery pack or charger. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior and cause fire or explosion or pose a risk of injury.

Do not modify the charger or battery pack or attempt to repair them, except as specified in their use or maintenance instructions.

Have your battery pack repaired or serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This is the only way to preserve the safety of the battery pack.

CAUTION! To reduce the risk of injury, charge the iON+ 24V lithium-ion battery pack only with the iON+ 24V lithium-ion charger specifically designed for it. Other types of chargers present risks of fire and personal and material damage. Do not connect the battery pack to the mains or a car cigarette lighter. The battery pack would be permanently and irremediably damaged.

NOTE: The safe temperature range for the battery is between 5°C and 40.5°C. Do not charge the battery outdoors when it is freezing; charge it at room temperature.

Recommended Accessories

WARNING! To reduce the risk of electric shock, always unplug the charger before cleaning or performing maintenance. Do not allow water to flow into the charger. To reduce the risk of electric shock, use a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI).

Battery Information

  1. For optimal battery performance, avoid waiting until it is almost discharged and charge it frequently.
  2. Store the battery pack in a cool place, ideally at 25°C, and charge it to at least 40%.
  3. Lithium-ion batteries naturally wear out over time. The battery pack should be replaced at the latest when its capacity drops to 80% of its original capacity when new. Weakened cells in a worn-out battery pack can no longer produce the high current required for your pressure washer to operate normally, and thus pose a safety risk.
  4. Do not dispose of the battery pack in an open fire, as it may explode.
  5. Do not set the battery pack on fire or expose it to a flame.
  6. Never completely discharge the battery pack. The cells of a completely discharged battery will be damaged. Prolonged storage and non-use of a partially discharged battery are the most common causes of complete discharge. Stop your work as soon as you notice the battery power dropping or the electronic protection system triggering. Store the battery pack only when it is fully charged.
  7. Protect the battery and tool from overcharging. Overcharging will quickly lead to overheating and damage the cells inside the battery housing, even if this overheating is not visible from the outside.
  8. Avoid damaging the battery and subjecting it to shocks. Immediately replace any battery that has been dropped from a height of more than one meter or has been subjected to strong impacts, even if the battery pack housing does not appear damaged. The cells inside the battery may have been severely damaged. In this case, please read the waste disposal information regarding batteries.
  9. If the battery pack suffers from overcharging or overheating, the integrated protection circuit breaker cuts off the tool's motor for safety reasons.

IMPORTANT! Do not press the on/off trigger if the protection circuit breaker has been activated. This could damage the battery pack.

10. Use only original battery packs. Using other battery packs presents a risk of fire and could cause injury or explosion.

Charger Information and Charging Process

  1. Please check the data marked on the battery charger's nameplate. Ensure you connect the battery charger to a power source corresponding to the voltage indicated on the nameplate. Never connect it to a different mains voltage.
  2. Protect the battery charger and its cord from damage. Keep the charger and its cord away from heat, oil, and sharp objects. Have damaged cords repaired without delay by a qualified technician at an authorized Snow Joe® + Sun Joe® dealer or call Snow Joe® + Sun Joe® customer service at 1-866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563).
  3. Electrical plugs must match the outlet. Do not make any modifications to the plug. Do not use an adapter plug with a grounded charger. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
  4. Keep the battery charger, battery pack, and cordless tool out of the reach of children.
  5. Do not use the battery charger provided to charge other cordless tools or machines.
  6. The battery pack becomes hot after prolonged use. Allow the battery pack to cool to ambient temperature before plugging it into the charger for charging.
  7. Do not overcharge the battery. Do not exceed the maximum charging time. This charging time applies only to discharged batteries. Frequently recharging a charged or partially charged battery pack will cause overcharging and damage the cells. Do not leave the battery plugged into the charger for several consecutive days.
  8. Never use or charge a battery if you suspect it has been more than 12 months since it was last charged. It is extremely likely that the battery pack is already dangerously damaged (completely discharged).
  9. Charging a battery at a temperature below 5°C will damage the battery cells' chemicals, which can cause a fire.
  10. Do not use a battery that has been exposed to heat during charging, as the battery cells may have been dangerously damaged.
  11. Do not use batteries that have swollen or deformed during the charging process, or those exhibiting other atypical symptoms (gas leakage, whistling, cracks, etc.).
  12. Never completely discharge the battery pack (the maximum recommended discharge level is 80%). Complete discharge of a battery pack will lead to premature aging of its cells.

Protection Against Environmental Influences

  1. Wear appropriate work clothing. Wear safety glasses.
  2. Protect your cordless tool and battery charger from moisture and rain. Moisture and rain can dangerously damage the cells.
  3. Do not use the cordless tool or battery charger near flammable vapors or liquids.
  4. Use the battery charger and cordless tool only in a dry environment and at an ambient temperature between 5°C and 40.5°C.
  5. Do not store the battery charger in locations where the temperature is likely to be above 40.5°C. Never leave the battery charger in a car parked in the sun.
  6. Protect batteries from overcharging. Overcharging and direct exposure to sunlight will cause overheating of the cells and damage them. Never charge or use a battery that has overheated: replace it immediately if necessary.
  7. Store the charger and your cordless tool only in a dry place where the ambient temperature is between 5°C and 40.5°C. Store your lithium-ion battery pack in a cool, dry place at a temperature of 25°C. Protect the battery pack, charger, and cordless tool from moisture and direct sunlight. Store batteries only when they are fully charged (charged to at least 40%).
  8. Ensure the lithium-ion battery pack does not freeze. Battery packs that have been stored at temperatures below 0°C for more than 60 minutes must be disposed of.
  9. When handling the battery, be careful of electrostatic discharges, as they can damage the electronic protection system and the battery cells. Avoid producing electrostatic charges and never touch the battery terminals.

To use this cordless pressure washer, you need a 24V iON+ system battery and charger. For battery and charger options and specifications, please refer to page 16 or visit sunjoe.com for more information.

  1. Ensure the pressure washer is connected to an appropriate water supply. Slide the battery into the battery compartment until it clicks into place. Close the battery compartment cover (Fig. 9).

Using the Multi-Pattern Spray Nozzle

Before starting any cleaning task, determine the best-suited spray pattern. The spray nozzle allows for five different spray patterns: shower (for watering plants), 40° (for gentle cleaning), 25° (for all-purpose cleaning), 0+ (for intensive cleaning), and 0° (for spot cleaning or hard-to-reach areas).

CAUTION! NEVER change the spray pattern without first stopping the pressure washer and removing the battery.

WARNING! Pressure jets can be dangerous if not used properly. Do not direct the jet at a person, pet, electrical equipment, or the tool itself.

To change the spray pattern:

  1. Stop the pressure washer and remove the battery.
  2. Choose the spray pattern best suited for the task (Fig. 11).

I) The intense 0° jet pattern is extremely effective and provides a fine pencil-like jet. It is used to dislodge stubborn deposits in a small, concentrated area. It is ideal for tackling tough substances, such as tar or grease stains on concrete, or for removing dried mud from equipment. Use this spray pattern to clean hard-to-reach areas, such as two-story building facades or the underside of lawnmowers and lawn tractors.

REMARK: The choice of spray pattern best suited for the task should be made with discernment to avoid gouging wood or damaging fragile surfaces.

II) Use the 0+ jet pattern for intensive cleaning of hard surfaces. Applications include paint stripping, removing oil, grease, or thick mold stains, as well as rust stains on steel. This jet pattern should only be used on surfaces that can withstand the high pressure generated by this jet pattern.

III) Use the 25° fan jet pattern to clean house siding, brick patios, wooden decks, driveways, or sidewalks. When using this jet pattern, first test on a small area to avoid potentially damaging the entire surface.

IV) Use the 40° wide jet pattern to clean, for example, cars, trucks, boats, garden furniture, or lawn and garden equipment.

V) Use the shower jet pattern for light cleaning and watering plants.

  1. To align the symbol of the desired spray pattern with the mark on the nozzle, turn the nozzle collar (Fig. 12).
  2. Insert the battery and start the tool. Begin at the top of the surface to be cleaned and work downwards, ensuring your spray strokes overlap.

Stopping the Tool

  1. Release the trigger. Remove the battery.
  2. Remove the siphon hose from the bucket or fresh water, or turn off the water supply.
  3. Disconnect the siphon hose or garden hose from the pressure washer.
