Introduction

Thank you for your purchase of the RideSYNC2 Two Rider Helmet Communications System! Using RideSYNC2, a rider and passenger or two riders can communicate with one another, as well as listen to the radio or receive audio or navigation from a smartphone Bluetooth connection, including the ability to make and receive calls.

Components

The system includes two complete communication systems, each consisting of:

• RideSYNC2 Communications device x2
• 2 quick-release helmet mount options: Clip to helmet x2, 3M adhesive patch x2
• 2 microphones options: Boom (works with all helmets incl. open faced) x2, Button (helmets with chin bar only) x2
• 40 mm helmet speakers x2
• Adhesive hook-and-loop patches x4
• Speaker adjustment shims x4
• USB-C charging cable x2

Driving

The RideSYNC2 user must strictly maintain focus on vehicle operation and road safety at all times when operating a vehicle on public roads. Volume level must be kept low in traffic to maintain awareness of vehicles and other hazards.

Hearing Protection

Sustained use with high volume levels is not recommended.

Avalanche Transceiver Interference

Avalanche transceivers can experience interference from all electronic devices in close proximity, including Bluetooth devices such as RideSYNC2—even when they are powered off. Do not use or carry a RideSYNC2 device in close proximity to an avalanche transceiver in use. For more information on avalanche transceiver interference, refer to the manufacturer of your transceiver.

Installation

Step 1: Attach the device mounting base to the left side of the helmet

Option A: Clip mounting base
Slide the clip over the shell of the helmet, with the mounting base on the exterior of the helmet.

Option B: 3M Adhesive mounting base
Remove the red backing and apply the adhesive mounting base to the helmet. TIP: The 3M adhesive base is permanently affixed. Take care when installing to allow clearance and proper routing of the speaker wire cable.

Step 2: Connect the RideSYNC2 device to the mounting base

Insert the tabs on the back of the device into the slots on the mount base and slide down until the device clicks into place. To remove, push the tab at the top of the mount base towards the helmet and slide the device up to remove for easy charging.

Step 3: Install the speakers

To simplify installation of the speakers into the helmet, first remove the cheek pads and helmet liner. The wires should be installed underneath these linings. Place the speakers into the helmet speaker detents or find the appropriate location adjacent to the ears for installation. Use the hook and loop patches to secure the speakers. TIP: For the best listening experience, the speakers should be as close to the ears as is comfortable. If needed, the included shims may be used to move the speakers closer to the ears.

Step 4: Install the microphone

Choose either the boom or button microphone that is most appropriate for your style of helmet. Plug the microphone wire into the port on the speaker wire assembly. The microphone should be placed as near the mouth as possible, and can be secured in place with the included hook-and-loop patches. TIP: For a clean installation and a hassle-free experience, the wires may be secured to the helmet EPS foam with some small bits of tape under the liner and cheek pads.
