LiftMaster 850LM 3-Channel Universal Receiver
This document provides instructions for the LiftMaster 850LM 3-Channel Universal Receiver, designed for commercial door and gate operators. It is not compatible with myQ® enabled garage door openers.
Application
The receiver can control up to three gates or commercial door operators. It can also be used with a 3-button remote control to operate the OPEN, CLOSE, and STOP functions of a commercial door operator.
Each channel supports a specific number of remote controls and keypads:
- CH1: 50 remote controls and 2 keypads
- CH2: 20 remote controls and 2 keypads
- CH3: 20 remote controls and 2 keypads
If a channel reaches its capacity, programming a new accessory will replace the first programmed accessory. A remote control button can only be programmed to one channel at a time; programming it to a new channel will erase it from the previous one.
Safety Warnings
WARNING: To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from electrocution, ensure power is disconnected before installing the receiver.
WARNING: To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from a moving gate or garage door:
- Keep remote controls out of children's reach. Never allow children to operate or play with remote controls.
- Activate the gate or door only when it can be clearly seen, is properly adjusted, and has no obstructions.
- Always keep the gate or door in sight until completely closed. Never allow anyone to cross the path of a moving gate or door.
WARNING: For residential openers, CONSTANT OPERATION is prohibited. When used with a commercial door opener, a safety reversing edge must be installed on the bottom of the door to prevent SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH.
Wiring
Refer to your commercial door operator or gate operator manual for specific wiring information. The receiver and antenna use TV Type F coaxial connectors. The antenna can be connected directly or remotely using an extension kit (Model 86LM or 86LMT).
Installation Steps:
- Select a location for the receiver that provides access to terminals and space for the antenna. Ensure the antenna does not touch metal surfaces and is not bent or folded.
- Fasten the receiver securely using the provided hook and loop fasteners or screws (not provided).
- Connect power after installation. Power can be supplied by an 85LM plug-in or 95LM wired-in transformer, or directly from the operator (9-30V AC or 9-34V DC).
Note: The receiver can command the operator to close the door or gate via constant pressure, but this feature is only available with a wireless control panel (Model 885LM). To enable, press and hold the push bar until the gate or door moves to the closed position.
