Quick Start Guide

Note: Button designs may differ slightly. If the indoor unit lacks a function, pressing its button on the remote will have no effect. In case of discrepancies between manuals, the "Owner's Manual" prevails.

Handling the Remote Controller

Inserting and Replacing Batteries

Your air conditioning unit may come with two batteries. Insert batteries before use.

  1. Slide the back cover downward to expose the battery compartment.
  2. Insert batteries, matching the (+) and (-) ends with the symbols inside the compartment.
  3. Slide the battery cover back into place.

Battery Notes: For optimum performance, do not mix old and new batteries or different types. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for more than 2 months.

Battery Disposal: Do not dispose of batteries as unsorted municipal waste. Follow local laws for proper disposal.

The device complies with local national regulations. In Canada, it complies with CAN ICES-3(B)/NMB-3(B). In the USA, this device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules, subject to two conditions: (1) it may not cause harmful interference, and (2) it must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. Changes or modifications not approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

How to Use Basic Functions

ATTENTION: Ensure the unit is plugged in and power is available before operation.

AUTO Mode

  1. Select AUTO mode using the MODE button.
  2. Set your desired temperature using the TEMP ∧/∨ buttons.
  3. Turn on the air conditioner using the ON/OFF button.

Note: In AUTO mode, the unit selects COOL, FAN, or HEAT based on the set temperature. Fan speed cannot be set.

COOL or HEAT Mode

  1. Select COOL or HEAT mode using the MODE button.
  2. Set the temperature using the TEMP ∧/∨ buttons.
  3. Set the fan speed using the FAN SPEED button.
  4. Turn on the air conditioner using the ON/OFF button.

DRY Mode

  1. Select DRY mode using the MODE button.
  2. Set your desired temperature using the TEMP ∧/∨ buttons.
  3. Turn on the air conditioner using the ON/OFF button.

Note: In DRY mode, fan speed is automatically controlled and cannot be set.

FAN Mode

  1. Select FAN mode using the MODE button.
  2. Set the fan speed using the FAN SPEED button.
  3. Turn on the air conditioner using the ON/OFF button.

Note: In FAN mode, temperature cannot be set, and the remote screen does not display temperature.

How to Use Advanced Functions

Swing function

Press the Swing button. The horizontal louver swings up and down. Press again to stop. Keep pressing for more than 2 seconds to activate vertical louver swing (for applicable units).

Airflow direction

Continue pressing the SWING button to set one of five airflow directions. The louver moves within a range; press until the desired direction is reached.

LED DISPLAY

Press the LED button to turn the indoor unit's LED display and buzzer on/off. Keep pressing for more than 5 seconds (some units) to display the actual room temperature. Pressing again for over 5 seconds reverts to the setting temperature display.

LOCK function

Press and hold the Clean and Turbo buttons simultaneously for more than 5 seconds to activate the Lock function. All buttons become unresponsive except Clean and Turbo, which can be used to disable locking after pressing them for two seconds.

ECO/GEAR function

Press this button to enter the energy-efficient mode sequence: ECO → GEAR(75%) → GEAR(50%) → Previous setting mode → ECO... This function is available only in COOL mode.

Silence function

Keep pressing the Fan button for more than 2 seconds to activate/disable Silence function. Due to low frequency compressor operation, cooling and heating capacity may be insufficient. Pressing ON/OFF, Mode, Turbo, or Clean, or activating sleep feature will cancel silence function.

TIMER Setting

TIMER ON/OFF Setting:

Set the time after which the unit will automatically turn on/off.

  1. Press the TIMER button to initiate the ON time sequence.
  2. Use the TEMP ∧/∨ buttons multiple times to set the desired ON time.
  3. Point the remote to the unit and wait 1 second for TIMER ON activation.
  1. Press the TIMER button to initiate the OFF time sequence.
  2. Use the TEMP ∧/∨ buttons multiple times to set the desired OFF time.
  3. Point the remote to the unit and wait 1 second for TIMER OFF activation.

Note: Time increments are 30 minutes up to 10 hours, then 1-hour increments up to 24 hours. Setting timer to 0.0h cancels the function. Timer reverts to 0.0 after 24 hours.

TIMER ON & OFF Setting (Example):

The time periods set refer to hours after the current time.

Example: If current time is 1:00 PM, setting the timer as shown will turn the unit on at 3:30 PM (2.5 hours later) and turn it off at 6:00 PM (5 hours later).

FP function

Press this button twice within one second under HEAT Mode with the temperature set to 16°C/60°F. The unit will operate at high fan speed with the temperature automatically set to 8°C/46°F. This function is for heat pump air conditioners only. Pressing On/Off, Mode, Fan, Temp, or starting sleep feature will cancel this function.

CLEAN function

Press the Clean button to activate the Active Clean function. This technology washes away dust, mold, and grease from the heat exchanger by automatically freezing and thawing frost. The indoor unit display shows "CL". After 20 to 45 minutes, the unit turns off and cancels CLEAN function.

Turbo Function

SET Function

  1. Press the SET button to enter function setting.
  2. Press SET or TEMP ∧/∨ to select the desired function. The symbol flashes; press OK to confirm.
  3. To cancel, repeat the procedure.

Operation Functions: Fresh/UV-C lamp [lamp icon] → Sleep [sleep icon] → Follow Me [follow me icon] → AP mode [AP icon]. (Fresh or AP function is unit-dependent.)
