Troubleshooting
For issues like black screen, no sound, frozen picture, or network loss:
- Restart the TV using the remote's power button (hold for ~5 seconds). If that fails, unplug the AC power cord, press the TV's power button, wait 2 minutes, then plug it back in. Alternatively, hold the TV's power button for ~40 seconds.
- Refer to the Help menu on the TV.
- Connect to the internet and perform a software update.
- Visit the Sony support website for more information.
- Perform a factory data reset (this will erase all customized settings).
Specific Issues:
- Remote Control Not Functioning: Replace batteries.
- Forgotten Parental Lock PIN: Enter 4357 as the PIN, then set a new PIN.
- Screen Becomes Darker: If an image remains static, brightness may be reduced to prevent image retention. This is not a malfunction.
- Image Retention Concerns: To reduce image retention, turn off the TV normally. Avoid displaying static images with logos or bright colors for extended periods. Perform "Panel refresh" only when image retention is noticeable, and no more than once a year.
- Red, Green, or Blue Line on Screen: This may appear during "Panel refresh" (which takes about an hour after the TV is turned off) and is not a malfunction.
- "Panel refresh did not finish..." Message: Ensure the TV is not turned on, the AC cord is not unplugged, and the room temperature is between 10°C (50°F) and 40°C (104°F) during the process.
Access the Help Guide by pressing the [Input Button] on the remote and selecting [Help].
