Installation and Safety Information

Securing the TV to Prevent Toppling: Sony strongly recommends taking measures to prevent the TV from toppling over, which could result in property damage or serious injury.

  • Secure the TV to a wall and/or stand.
  • Do not allow children to play or climb on the TV or furniture.
  • Avoid placing or hanging items on the TV.
  • Never install the TV on slippery, unstable, or uneven surfaces, or furniture that can be easily used as steps.
  • Install the TV where it cannot be pulled, pushed, or knocked over.
  • Ensure the Table-Top Stand does not protrude from the furniture.
  • Route all power and connecting cables safely away from children.

For wall-mounting, use the compatible Sony Wall-Mount Bracket (SU-WL855 recommended). Installation requires expertise; consult a Sony dealer or licensed contractor.

Troubleshooting

For issues like black screen, no sound, frozen picture, or network loss:

  1. Restart the TV using the remote's power button (hold for ~5 seconds). If that fails, unplug the AC power cord, press the TV's power button, wait 2 minutes, then plug it back in. Alternatively, hold the TV's power button for ~40 seconds.
  2. Refer to the Help menu on the TV.
  3. Connect to the internet and perform a software update.
  4. Visit the Sony support website for more information.
  5. Perform a factory data reset (this will erase all customized settings).

Specific Issues:

  • Remote Control Not Functioning: Replace batteries.
  • Forgotten Parental Lock PIN: Enter 4357 as the PIN, then set a new PIN.
  • Screen Becomes Darker: If an image remains static, brightness may be reduced to prevent image retention. This is not a malfunction.
  • Image Retention Concerns: To reduce image retention, turn off the TV normally. Avoid displaying static images with logos or bright colors for extended periods. Perform "Panel refresh" only when image retention is noticeable, and no more than once a year.
  • Red, Green, or Blue Line on Screen: This may appear during "Panel refresh" (which takes about an hour after the TV is turned off) and is not a malfunction.
  • "Panel refresh did not finish..." Message: Ensure the TV is not turned on, the AC cord is not unplugged, and the room temperature is between 10°C (50°F) and 40°C (104°F) during the process.

Access the Help Guide by pressing the [Input Button] on the remote and selecting [Help].
