Introduction
Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini is a compact home device that turns your typical electrical wall outlet into a controllable, customizable and multi-functional outlet, enabling you to easily control your lights and household electronic devices via Kasa Smart app on your iOS or Android devices, no matter where you find yourself.

Appearance
The Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini has a control button to turn on/off devices plugged in, making it very easy to use. The EP10 (US version) is used for demonstration in this guide.
The button on the side can be pressed to turn the socket ON or OFF.
Set Up Your Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini
Follow the steps below to set up your smart plug via the Kasa Smart app.
- Install Kasa Smart app: Get the Kasa Smart app from Google Play or the Apple App Store, or scan the QR code [QR Code Icon] to download it.
- Log in or sign up with TP-Link ID: Open the Kasa Smart app and log in with your TP-Link ID. If you don't have an account, create one first.
- Add Device: Tap the [+] button in the Kasa Smart app, select Device > Smart Plugs > Smart Plug Mini, and then follow the step-by-step app instructions to complete the setup.
Simple to Set up and Use with Alexa
Setup is faster than ever before with Alexa. Use your Echo device to set up the plug via voice command.
- Once you've set up your Echo device, plug in your TP-Link smart plug. If Alexa or the Alexa app says "New plug found," go straight to step 3. [Lightning Bolt Icon]
- In the Kasa app, click the [+] icon and then follow the step-by-step instructions to set up your smart plug and link your TP-Link account to Amazon. [Wi-Fi Icon]
- To use your device with Alexa, just say "Alexa, turn on First Plug." [Camera Icon]
Main Device Controls
After successfully setting up your smart plug, you will see the home page of the Kasa Smart app. Here you can view and manage all devices added to Kasa. Tap a smart plug to control and manage it.
Home Page
The Home Page displays your devices, including "Plug 1", "Plug 2", "Plug 3", each marked as "Local Only". A green circle icon [Green Circle Icon] indicates the device is active.
Device Status
The Device Status screen for "Plug 1" shows controls for Schedule [Calendar Icon], Timer [Clock Icon], Away mode [Sun Icon], and Runtime [Usage Icon].
Configure Your Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini
On the Device Status page, you can set schedules, preset Away Mode, set timers, check usage, and change the settings of your smart plug.
Set Schedule
Tap the Schedule icon [Schedule] to set a schedule for your smart plug to simplify your daily routine by creating automatic On/Off actions.
Preset Away Mode
Tap the Away Mode icon [Away Mode] to preset the Away Mode. Your smart plug will be randomly turned on/off during this time to simulate occupancy.
Set Timer
Tap the Timer icon [Timer] to set a timer. Your smart plug will automatically be turned on/off after the time ends.
Check Usage
Tap the Runtime icon [Runtime] to view and track energy consumption. The display shows Current Runtime, Total Runtime (Today), Daily Average, and Total Runtime for Past 7 Days and Past 30 Days.
Device Settings
Tap the Settings icon [Settings] to view and change the settings of your smart plug. Options include Name and Icon (e.g., Plug 1, Plug 2, Plug 3), Customize (Re-Order), Status LED, and Advanced (Device Info).
Create Scenes
A scene is a preset group of smart devices that can be programmed, customized, and activated simultaneously at the touch of a button from your smartphone or tablet. This allows you to easily set your mood, activity, or fit any special occasion. This page allows you to preset how your smart home devices should act automatically at special occasions.
Scenes let you set the mood of your home in one tap:
- Good Morning: Get ready for the day by turning on your devices. [Lightbulb Icon]
- Good Night: Turn everything off before bedtime. [Moon Icon]
- Movie Night: Dim the lights for showtime. [Popcorn Icon]
- Custom: Create your own scene. [Gear Icon]
Discover Kasa
Use the Kasa Smart app to pair your smart Wi-Fi plug with Amazon Alexa, Google Home Assistant, and enjoy a full hands-free experience. Kasa also helps manage the rest of your smart home, working with Samsung SmartThings to trigger changes when you arrive home or leave for the day.
Launch the Kasa Smart app and go to Add Device > WORKS WITH KASA > Amazon Alexa / Google Assistant / Samsung SmartThings for detailed instructions.
