Manage Zigbee Devices on a Qolsys IQ Panel 4
Alarm.com has enabled use with Zigbee lighting devices with the IQ Panel 4. These devices allow for a wider variety of possible home automation offerings, as well as a faster communication protocol. Zigbee lighting devices can be enrolled using the panel and controlled using the Customer Website or Customer app.
Requirements
- Qolsys IQ Panel 4 firmware 4.2.0+
- Zigbee daughter card (QC000E-840) installed in the panel
- Lights or Lights & Thermostat Bundle Service Package
- A supported Zigbee device

Managing Zigbee Devices on the IQ Panel 4
Enable Zigbee on the IQ Panel 4
In order to enroll and control Zigbee devices on the IQ Panel 4, a Zigbee daughter card (QC000E-840) must be installed in a panel with firmware version 4.2.0+.
To enroll Zigbee devices using the panel:
1. Flick down to open the menu on the home screen, then tap Settings.
2. Tap Advanced Settings.
3. Enter the installer code.
4. Tap Installation.
5. Tap Devices.
6. Tap Automation.
7. Tap Auto Learn Devices.
8. After a few seconds, a message will appear to confirm the device is being enrolled.
• If the message does not appear, verify that the zigbee device is powered on and within range of the IQ Panel 4.
• If the message still does not appear, manually enroll the device by tapping Add Zigbee Device. Enter the MAC address of the device, if available.
9. If desired, enter a local name for the device, then tap Update to complete enrollment.
To remove Zigbee devices using the panel:
1. Flick down to open the menu on the home screen, then tap Settings.
2. Tap Advanced Settings.
3. Enter the installer code.
4. Tap Installation.
5. Tap Devices.
6. Tap Automation.
7. Tap Delete Device.
8. Tap the device(s) to be deleted.
9. Tap Delete.
To remove all devices using the panel:
Important: This removes all Zigbee and Z-Wave devices from the panel.
1. Flick down to open the menu on the home screen, then tap Settings.
2. Tap Advanced Settings.
3. Enter the installer code.
4. Tap Installation.
5. Tap Devices.
6. Tap Automation.
7. Tap Remove All Devices.
To request a device status using the panel:
1. From the home screen, swipe to the left or right to reach the Lights screen.
2. Tap the desired device(s).
3. Tap Get Status.
Limitations to Zigbee Devices
While Zigbee devices offer similar functionality to Z-Wave devices using the IQ Panel 4, some major differences include:
- Zigbee devices will not appear in the Equipment page of the MobileTech app. Zigbee devices will appear in the Overview tab of the Equipment List when using the Partner Portal.
- Zigbee devices are compatible with rules created using the New Rules Builder. For more information about the New Rules Builder, see New Rules Builder Overview.
- Zigbee devices do not report malfunctions to Alarm.com. Network Rediscoveries will not include Zigbee devices.
- Zigbee devices cannot be enrolled using the Partner Portal or MobileTech app.
