Wiring Diagram Overview
This document provides a wiring diagram and installation instructions for the Siren Marine 240V Shore Power Relay, designed for Siren 3 Series Devices. The diagram illustrates the connections required to integrate the relay into a boat's electrical system for managing 240V shore power.
Key Components and Connections:
- Power Inputs: The system receives power from Battery 1 (+) and a +9VDC to +30VDC source, both protected by 5A fuses. These DC power sources are connected to the relay's COIL and START terminals, likely for control circuit operation.
- Ground: DC Common Ground (-) is connected to the relay's COM terminals, serving as the common reference point.
- Shore Power Input: The 240V Shore Power input is connected to the relay's NO (Normally Open) terminal.
- Control Signals: The relay is controlled by 120VAC signals, with 120VAC Hot (1) connected to the COIL terminal and 120VAC Hot (2) connected to the START terminal.
Important Notes:
- DO NOT USE AC NEUTRAL OR AC GROUND WIRES WITH THIS RELAY.
- Wires included with this relay may not match the color of your boat wiring.
- Note: Posi-Tap? connectors, terminal blocks, or other connection types can be used to connect the wiring cable to sensor wires.
Installation Instructions
- Ensure AC power is off before beginning installation.
- Connect a wire from the Normally Open (NO) input on the relay to the Shore Power connection (identified as the light green wire on Wiring Cable 1).
- Connect a wire from the COM input on the relay to the DC Common Ground.
- Connect a wire from the first COIL input to the first leg of the 120VAC power source.
- Connect a wire from the second COIL input to the second leg of the 120VAC power source.
