About This Product
Thank you for purchasing this child seat. This product is suitable for children approximately 6 months old to approximately 6 to 8 years old. We welcome you as a valued customer, and trust that your child will enjoy many years of comfort and safety.
Important Safety Note: No child restraint can guarantee absolute protection from a crash. However, proper use of this restraint may reduce the risk of injury or death.
Quick Start Guide - Harnessed Mode (6 Months to 4 Years Approximately)
- Loosen Top Tether: Push down on the adjuster and pull the strap to loosen.
- Attach to Vehicle: Connect the top tether strap to the vehicle anchor point.
- Position Seat: Place the child restraint on the back seat of the vehicle in line with the top tether strap anchorage point.
- Feed Seatbelt: Hold the lap-sash belt together and feed it under the armrest, then through the front of the seat and the YELLOW forward-facing belt path.
- Secure Belt: Place your hand behind the seat and pull the belt across the back. Feed the lap-sash belt through the opening in the back of the seat, marked as the YELLOW forward-facing belt path.
- Fasten Seatbelt: Fasten the seatbelt, ensuring you hear a "click!".
- Position Sash Belt: Reposition the sash-belt from the outside of the seat to the inside, ensuring it lies as pictured.
- Remove Slack: Place one knee on the child restraint and push down firmly. Pull on the seatbelt to remove slack. Repeat to ensure all slack is removed and the base of the seat is not lifted.
- Check Use: Ensure the harness is correctly positioned (shoulder straps in slots nearest to child's shoulders, not more than 25mm below).
Correct Use: Shoulder straps are correctly positioned and the lap-sash belt is across the hips and shoulder.
Incorrect Use: Shoulder straps are too low, or the lap-sash belt is across the neck or face.
Quick Start Guide - Booster Mode (4 Years to 8 Years Approximately)
- Loosen Top Tether: Push down on the adjuster and pull the strap to loosen.
- Attach to Vehicle: Connect the top tether strap to the vehicle anchor point.
- Position Seat: Place the child restraint on the back seat of the vehicle in line with the top tether strap anchorage point.
- Child Positioning: Have your child sit in the booster seat with their back flat against its back.
- Position Seatbelt: Position the lap-sash belt through the sash guide in the headrest. The lap belt portion must be positioned low on the hips. ALWAYS USE THE SASH GUIDE.
- Fasten Seatbelt: Fasten the buckle and pull up on the shoulder belt to tighten. Ensure the vehicle's seatbelt is not twisted.
- Check Use: Ensure the seatbelt is correctly positioned across the child's shoulder and lap.
Correct Use: Lap-sash belt across hips and shoulder.
Incorrect Use: Lap-only belt, or sash belt under the arm or behind the back.
Transitioning to Booster Mode: Removing Harness
- Loosen Harness: Loosen the harness to access the splitter plate. Undo harness straps from the splitter plate and pull straps out through harness slots.
- Store Harness Straps: Slide straps to the back of the child restraint, pull buckle tongues to the end of the straps, and fold the free end of the harness over.
- Tuck Harness: Roll the harness strap with the buckle tongue contained and tuck into seat trim for storage.
- Store Buckle: Lift the flap to reveal a storage space in the seat base. Push the buckle down into the gap and replace the flap.
- Adjuster Strap: Lift the trim to expose the adjuster strap. Pull to full length, roll tightly, and pull cover back into place.
Shoulder Height Markers
Harnessed Mode:
- Marker A (Lower Height Marker): Shoulders must be in-line or above this marker.
- Marker B (Middle Height Marker): Convert to Booster Mode when child's shoulders reach this marker. If below, continue to use harness.
Booster Mode:
- Marker C (Upper Shoulder Height Marker): When child's shoulders reach this marker (approx. 6-8 years), move to the next form of child restraint.

Anchor Fitting Locations
Anchor points can be found in various locations in cars. Check your car owner's manual. Ensure you do not confuse luggage hooks with anchor points.
Extension Straps: 300mm (ref no. 015057), 600mm (ref no. 015058)
Belt Converter: ref no. 015059
Anchor Installation
Correct: Ensure no slack in the top strap and the attachment clip is upright in the anchorage fitting.
Incorrect: The clip must not lie flat on the anchorage fitting.
For cars with upper anchorage point: Locate point behind rear seating position. Consult car owner's handbook. Install attachment bolt as shown in Figure 1. Caution: Do not overtighten attachment bolt (max torque 20 Nm).
For sedans without upper anchorage point: Drill a 9mm hole in parcel shelf on centre-line of seating position. Install anchor bolt as shown in Figure 3. Professional installation by a child restraint fitting station or licensed mechanic is recommended.
For vehicles other than sedans: Consult nearest child restraint fitting station or traffic authority for correct position and attachment details.
Warnings: Do not attach to unsound metal, wood, or synthetic structures. Avoid drilling through fuel lines, wiring, or speakers. Protect webbing from sharp edges. Anchor fitting must only be used as described. Improper placement increases risk of injury or death.
Correct Forward-Facing Vehicle Position
Correct Use: Seat is positioned correctly in the vehicle, with appropriate belt routing.
Incorrect Use: Seat is positioned incorrectly, or belt routing is unsafe.
Warning: Improper placement of the safety seat increases the risk of serious injury or death.
Adjusting Top Tether Strap
- Press adjuster button and pull strap to loosen.
- Attach top tether strap to vehicle anchor point.
- Place knee on restraint, push down firmly, and tighten top anchorage strap by pulling free end. Ensure base of seat is not lifted.
Caution: Secure or remove hazardous cargo. Unsecured cargo can injure occupants or damage restraints.
Note: Do not use where the top tether strap may fall into a seat back split.
Adjusting Harness and Seat Configurations
Adjust shoulder straps to fit child before installation. Shoulder straps must be in slots nearest to child's shoulders, not more than 25mm below.
To adjust shoulder strap height:
- Press harness release lever to loosen straps.
- Undo straps from splitter plate.
- Re-thread straps through desired slots. Reconnect to splitter plate.
Note: Ensure harness heights are equal.
Warning: Always adjust shoulder strap height as the child grows.
Loosening and Fastening Harness Straps
- Press harness release lever to loosen.
- Pull shoulder straps to loosen.
- Press red button to release buckle.
- Place child in restraint.
- Fasten buckle (see page 22).
- Pull adjuster strap firmly against child.
Warning: Do not leave children unattended in the car.
Adjusting the Headrest
- The booster seat has 6 height positions.
- Lift the RED lever to raise or lower the headrest.
Adjusting the Installation Recline
- To recline backrest: Push backrest backward for vehicle fitment.
- To adjust upright: Pull backrest forward.
Cup Holders
- Swing outwards to use.
- Push back when not in use.
Buckle Fastening and Operation
- Release: Press the red button.
- Fastening: Insert buckle tongues until a "click" is heard. Ensure harness straps are pulled up firmly.
Installation - Harness Mode
- Loosen top tether strap. Place restraint on back seat in line with anchorage point.
- Feed lap-sash belt through front of seat and YELLOW forward-facing belt path.
- Pull belt across the back.
- Feed lap-sash belt through opening in back of seat (YELLOW path).
- Fasten seatbelt with a "click!".
- Reposition sash-belt inside the seat.
- Remove slack by pressing down on restraint and pulling seatbelt.
- Attach top tether strap to anchorage point and adjust until slack is removed. Ensure base is not lifted.
Note: If seatbelt is too short, DO NOT use seat belt extenders. Consider a Belt Converter if needed.
Correct Use: Harness correctly fastened and positioned.
Incorrect Use: Harness incorrectly fastened or positioned.
Removing the Harness for Booster Use
- Loosen harness, undo straps from splitter plate, and pull through harness slots.
- Slide straps to back of seat, pull buckle tongues to end of straps, and fold harness over.
- Roll harness strap with buckle tongue and tuck into seat trim.
- Lift flap in seat base, push buckle into storage space, and replace flap.
- Lift trim, pull adjuster strap to full length, roll tightly, and replace cover.
Shoulder Height Marker for Booster Use
Marker C (Upper Shoulder Height Marker): When child's shoulders reach this marker (approx. 6-8 years), move to the next form of child restraint.
Correct Positioning of Booster Seat
Correct and Safe Positioning: Use vehicle's lap-sash seat belt. Position sash belt through sash guide in headrest. Lap belt portion low on hips. Always use sash guide. Ensure seatbelt is not twisted.
Incorrect Positioning: Never use lap-only belt. Sash belt under arm or behind back is dangerous.
Correct Shoulder Position: Bottom of headrest should be even or slightly higher than top of child's shoulders.
Note: If seat belt crosses child's neck or face, adjust headrest height.
Caution: Seat belt across throat can cause strangulation hazard.
Securing Child and Booster Seat to Vehicle
- Place booster seat firmly against back of forward-facing vehicle seat with lap and shoulder belt.
- DO NOT place booster seat without tether strap attached to anchor fitting (refer to page 18).
- Have child sit with back flat against seat back.
- Position sash belt through sash guide in headrest. Lap belt portion low on hips. Always use sash guide.
- Fasten buckle and pull shoulder belt to tighten. Ensure seatbelt is not twisted.
Warning: Do not leave children unattended in the car.
Care and Maintenance
Buckle Maintenance
- Follow manufacturer's instructions. Note how parts are attached before removal for reassembly.
- Buckle should fasten with an audible 'CLICK'. Sticky liquids may cause sluggishness.
- Removing buckle: Lay seat on back. Use a flat object to slide metal plates into loosened position. Turn metal plates and push through top opening to release buckle for cleaning.
- Cleaning buckle: Place under running water (40°C) for one minute. Latch and unlatch several times until a strong 'click' is heard. Repeat if necessary. Do not oil. Allow to dry completely.
- Refitting buckle: Refit crotch buckle with RED button facing out. Place metal plates back and slide into position. Pull buckle to ensure it is fitted properly and plates are secure.

Cleaning Covers and Headrest
- Headrest Cover: Adjust headrest to highest position. Separate velcro to remove.
- Main Body Cover: Separate velcro at back, pull around armrest, and remove cover. Free elastic under seat.
- Seat covers can be machine washed in lukewarm water on 'delicate' cycle.
- Tumble dry for 10-15 minutes on low heat.
- DO NOT BLEACH, DRY CLEAN, OR IRON.
- Refit covers once dry.
Removing and Fitting Accessories
- Belt Mates: Undo shoulder straps, pull to front of seat, slide belt mates free. To replace, feed straps through belt mates, then through harness slots and attach to splitter plate.
- Headrest: Undo velcro tabs from sash guide and pull insert out. To replace, stretch inserts over headrest and secure velcro tabs.
Cleaning Shell
- Plastic Parts: Sponge clean with mild soap and cool water. Never use ammonia, bleach, or spirit-type cleaners.
- DO NOT USE SAFETY SEAT WITHOUT COVER.
- Periodically check seat for worn parts, torn material, or stitching. If damaged, replace the seat. Do not modify.
- Only use genuine replacement parts from Dorel Australia Pty Ltd.
- Use of aftermarket accessories may reduce safety and cause injury or death. Refer to page 13 for approved accessories.
- VERY IMPORTANT: Only replace cover with manufacturer's supplied replacement cover with identical shoulder height markers or a cover meeting AS/NZS 8005.
Warranty
Dorel Australia Pty Ltd warrants the product against defects in materials and workmanship for 6 years (seat) and 2 years (trim) from purchase date, provided it is used according to instructions. This warranty is in addition to rights under Australian consumer law.
Dorel Australia Pty Ltd will provide refund, repair, or exchange for defective products within the warranty period. Dorel Australia Pty Ltd will bear reasonable expense of claiming warranty.
Warranty is void if defect results from alteration, accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect.
