The detector provides a volumetric coverage pattern with a maximum range of 15 meters (50 feet) at a 90° angle.
Diagram Description: A polar diagram illustrates the detection coverage. The outer ring indicates a 15m (50ft) range. The pattern covers a 90° horizontal angle. Vertical coverage is also depicted, showing detection zones at different heights.
Note: Specific coverage can be adjusted by mounting height and angling (Sections 7 & 6).
Angling the detector can modify its coverage pattern. The diagrams show how tilting the detector affects the detection range and pattern shape.
Diagram Description: Multiple diagrams illustrate the detector's coverage pattern at various angles, showing how the detection zone is shaped and its effective range changes.
The optimal mounting height for the Prestige IR detector ranges from 1.5 meters (4'11") to 3.0 meters (9'10"). The detection range varies with height.
Diagram Description: A series of diagrams show the coverage pattern at different mounting heights (1.5m, 2.0m, 2.5m, 3.0m) and the corresponding detection ranges, typically up to 15m (50ft).
Pulse Count: The detector features a selectable pulse count setting (e.g., 1 or 2 pulses) which can influence sensitivity and reduce false alarms. The diagrams show the effect of these settings on coverage.
This section details how to adjust the detector's coverage when mounted at a fixed height of 2 meters (6'7"). Adjustments can modify the detection range.
Diagram Description: Diagrams illustrate the coverage patterns at a 2m mounting height, showing how different settings (potentially related to pulse count or sensitivity) affect the detection range, extending from approximately 2m up to 15m (50ft) horizontally.
This section provides a volumetric coverage diagram, illustrating the detection area in three dimensions.
Diagram Description: A top-down view (TOP VIEW) and a side view (SIDE VIEW) of the detection pattern are presented. The TOP VIEW shows the horizontal coverage from 0m to 16m, indicating a wide angle. The SIDE VIEW shows the vertical coverage from 0m to 16m, illustrating the detection zones at different heights.
The Prestige IR is designed for indoor use only. Ensure it is mounted on a stable surface.
Diagram Description: Diagrams show the detector being mounted indoors on a stable surface, with checkmarks [✔️] indicating correct placement and crosses [❌] indicating incorrect placement (e.g., outdoors or on an unstable surface).
Important: Do not run detector cables parallel to mains wiring (230V or 110V) to prevent interference.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows the terminal connections for the detector (TAMPER, ALARM, 12V, OV, RLED). It also includes warnings [⚠️] against running power cables near signal cables.
To avoid false alarms, select a location that avoids common sources of interference.
Diagram Description: Visual cues indicate common false alarm sources to avoid, such as heat sources (e.g., radiators, direct sunlight), moving objects (e.g., curtains in drafts, pets if not using pet-immune features), and areas with rapid temperature changes.
The jumper links JP3 (TAMPER) and JP4 (ALARM) are used to select resistances for End-of-Line (EOL) and Dual End-of-Line (DEOL) wiring configurations.
JP3 Function: Selects the End-of-Line resistance. Equivalent to wiring a resistor of the selected value.
JP4 Function: Selects the resistance across the alarm relay. Equivalent to wiring a resistor of the selected value.
Available Resistances: 1kΩ (1K0), 2.2kΩ (2K2), 4.7kΩ (4K7), 5.6kΩ (5K6).
Default Setting: If EOL wiring is not used, leave the headers in the default 'O/C' (Open Circuit) position.
External Resistors: If required resistance values are not available, leave headers in 'O/C' and wire external resistors as normal.
Texecom Panel Settings:

Diagram Description: Diagrams show examples of jumper link usage for TAMPER (JP3) and ALARM (JP4) circuits, illustrating how to set resistances for EOL and DEOL configurations. It also shows the terminal block with JP1 (LED OFF/ON) and JP2 (Pulse Count) settings.
The detector housing features knockouts for convenient cable entry.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows the detector casing with marked areas indicating where knockouts can be made for wiring.
Instructions for mounting the detector using the ceiling mount bracket.
Diagram Description: A step-by-step visual guide (numbered 1-5) showing how to attach the ceiling bracket to the detector and mount it to the ceiling.
Instructions for mounting the detector using the wall mount bracket.
Diagram Description: A step-by-step visual guide (numbered 1-7) showing how to attach the wall bracket to the detector and mount it to the wall, including sealing any holes.
