SAMSUNG Galaxy Ring User Guide
Getting started
This section covers the initial setup and basic usage of your Galaxy Ring.
Galaxy Ring Overview
The Galaxy Ring is designed to track your physical activities and health metrics. It features:
- Orientation indicator: A small mark on the ring to help with proper placement.
- Temperature sensor: Measures skin temperature changes.
- Optical heart rate sensors: Tracks heart rate and other vital signs.
Set up your device
Learn about your device hardware, assembly, charging, and initial setup.
Charge the battery
The Galaxy Ring should be charged before first use and after extended periods of inactivity. The Ring can connect to your mobile device while charging.
Instructions:
- Align the orientation indicator of the Ring with the marker on the charging case and place it inside. Ensure the Ring and case are dry and clean.
- Close the charging case and connect the USB Type-C cable.
Note: The device and charger may become warm during charging, which is normal and does not affect performance.
Caution: Do not disassemble, modify, or repair the device. Keep magnetic items away from the device and charger to prevent damage.
Maintaining water and dust resistance
The device is not impervious to all dust and water damage. Ensure all compartments are closed tightly.
Tips for maintaining performance:
- Dry the device thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth if it gets wet. Failure to do so may cause operability or cosmetic issues.
- Do not expose the device to high-pressure water.
- If the device is dropped or impacted, its water and dust resistant features may be affected. Contact a Samsung-authorized service center for inspection if damage is suspected.
Caution: To avoid electric shock and damage, do not charge the device when wet or in a wet environment. Do not handle the device, charger, or cords with wet hands.
The device is water resistant based on IP68 rating (submersion in up to 5 feet of fresh water for up to 30 minutes). It is not advised for beach or pool use. The charging case is not water resistant. If the Ring is damaged, water resistance is not guaranteed.
Check the charge status
To conserve battery, place the Ring in the charging case when not in use. The proximity sensor remains active when the Ring is outside the case.
To check battery level:
- Place the Ring into the charging case and press the Multipurpose button.
- The indicator light will turn on for three seconds to show the current battery level.
Note: Battery level can also be checked in the Galaxy Wearable app.
Wireless power sharing
Wirelessly charge your Ring using a compatible Samsung mobile device.
Instructions:
- Enable the Wireless power sharing feature on your mobile device.
- Place the Ring (in its case) on the back of your mobile device (face down). A notification will indicate charging has begun.
Note: This feature works with most Qi-Certified devices. Requires minimum 30% battery on the sharing device. Performance may vary by device. Remove covers from both devices for optimal charging.
Tips for best results:
- Remove accessories or covers before using wireless power sharing.
- Adjust placement if needed, as the wireless charging coil location varies by device.
- Do not move or use either device during charging.
- Call reception or data services may be affected.
- Charging speed can vary based on device condition and environment.
- Do not use headphones while charging.
Indicator light
The indicator light on the charging case shows the status of the Ring.
Light Pattern | Status |
---|---|
All lights flash and turn off | Welcome lighting when opening the charging case |
