Introduction
Thank you for choosing a Carrier air conditioner. This manual provides instructions for the installation of the indoor unit. For outdoor unit installation, please refer to the manual provided with the outdoor unit. Please read this manual carefully before installation.
This air conditioner uses R32 refrigerant, which is environmentally friendly. Ensure compatibility with the outdoor unit's refrigerant type before installation.
Safety Precautions
General Safety Warnings:
- Read the installation manual thoroughly before installing the air conditioner and follow all instructions.
- Installation should only be performed by qualified installers or service technicians. Improper installation can lead to water leakage, electric shock, or fire.
- Do not use any refrigerant other than the specified R32. Using a different refrigerant can cause abnormal pressure in the cooling circuit, leading to product malfunction or explosion.
- Always turn off the power supply at the circuit breaker before performing any installation, maintenance, or repair work to avoid electric shock.
- Ensure children and individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, use this appliance only if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should not play with the air conditioner.
- When working at heights (50 cm or more), use a ladder that complies with ISO 14122 standards and wear a safety helmet.
- Wear protective gloves and clothing when installing, repairing, or disassembling the unit.
- Do not touch the aluminum fins; they can cause injury. If contact is necessary, wear protective gloves and clothing.
- Ensure the power is turned off before opening the air inlet to prevent injury from rotating parts. Only qualified personnel should perform work on the air inlet.
- When moving the unit, use at least two people and wear protective footwear.
- Do not move or repair the unit yourself due to high voltage inside.
- Ensure proper grounding to prevent electric shock. Do not ground to gas pipes, water pipes, lightning rods, or telephone ground wires.
- Install a circuit breaker that meets the specified requirements and local regulations.
- Do not extend power cords; this can increase the risk of fire.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with local codes and the installation manual.
Electrical Installation Standards:
Installation must comply with the electrical installation standards of the Engineering Institute of Thailand (EIT).
Refrigerant Handling:
- This unit uses R32 refrigerant. R32 is flammable. Ensure proper handling procedures are followed to prevent ignition.
- When installing, be careful not to let moisture, dirt, used refrigerant, or oil enter the refrigeration system.
- Use specialized equipment for R32 refrigerant.
- Use new and clean piping materials.
- After installation, check for refrigerant leaks.
- When installing or moving the air conditioner, follow the manual's instructions and purge all air to ensure only refrigerant is in the cooling circuit.
- Use nitrogen gas for leak testing.
- Ensure pipe connections are secure to prevent detachment.
Operation Testing:
- Before operation, ensure all covers are securely closed and the circuit breaker is switched ON.
- If any abnormality occurs (error messages, burning smell, abnormal noise, water leakage), turn off the power and contact a qualified service technician. Do not use the unit until it is repaired.
- After installation, check insulation resistance (600 V test) between charged parts and uncharged metal parts (ground). It should be 1 MΩ or higher.
- Perform operational tests after installation, checking for refrigerant leaks, insulation resistance, and drainage.
User Information:
- Inform the user about the location of the circuit breaker.
- If the fan outlet is damaged, turn off the power and contact a service technician. Do not turn the power back on until repaired.
- Explain operating and maintenance procedures to the customer using the user manual.
Relocation:
- Relocation must be performed by qualified personnel only.
- When performing a pump-down, close the compressor before disconnecting refrigerant lines.

- E5: Cooling system malfunction (high coil temperature after 10 mins of compressor operation).
- E8: Room Sensor open or shorted circuit (compressor cycles on/off every 5 minutes).
- E9: Freeze Sensor open or shorted circuit.
- EE: Communication error between Display and Main PCB (low voltage).
- ER: Drain motor pump malfunction.
Additional Features
- FREEZE: In COOL or DRY mode, if the coil temperature becomes too low, the unit enters FREEZE mode to defrost. The compressor stops, and the fan runs at low speed. Changes to other settings will take effect after FREEZE mode completes.
- COMPRESSOR DELAY PROTECTION: A 3-minute delay is enforced before the compressor restarts after stopping. A 3-4 minute delay occurs after power is restored.
- COMPRESSOR MINIMUM ON TIME: The compressor must run for at least 24 seconds before it can be stopped.
- WATCHDOG: The system automatically resets in case of computer errors due to unstable voltage or interference.
- MEMORY: Saves settings (except SLEEP and TIMER) after power failure. Settings are stored after 5 seconds of change.
- WIFI ENABLE/DISABLE (WIFI models): Press and hold ⏪ and ? simultaneously for 15 seconds to enable WIFI mode.
- PUMP: The condensate pump operates based on water level sensors. It activates when the compressor is running or when the water level is high. It stops when the compressor is off and the water level is low. If the pump runs continuously for over 3 minutes with a high water level, a fault is detected, the compressor stops, and the error can only be cleared by cutting power to the unit. The pump can operate even when the air conditioner is powered off.
5. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance are recommended to prolong the life and efficiency of your air conditioner.
- Air Filter Cleaning (Monthly): Turn off the power before cleaning. Remove the air filter by pulling the front cover. Clean with a vacuum cleaner or wash with soapy water if very dirty. Dry thoroughly.
- Unit Cleaning: Wipe the unit and remote control with a dry cloth or use a vacuum cleaner. A slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by drying. Do not use gasoline, thinner, or water above 40°C.
- Before Initial Use: Ensure the air filter is installed, the drain hose is not bent or clogged, and installation is secure.
- Long-Term Storage: Turn off the circuit breaker, clean the unit, and run it for 2-3 hours to dry the interior.
Tips for Air Conditioner Usage:
- Do not set the temperature lower than necessary to save electricity.
- Clean the air filter monthly for optimal performance.
- Close curtains or blinds to block sunlight and reduce the cooling load.
- Adjust airflow direction for even cooling.
- Keep doors and windows closed to prevent cool air from escaping.
- Ventilate the room occasionally, but avoid prolonged ventilation which wastes cool air.
6. Troubleshooting
Before calling a service technician, check the following:
- Unit not operating: Check power supply, circuit breaker, thermostat setting, and remote control timer settings.
- Unit operating but not cooling effectively: Check temperature setting, direct sunlight, open doors/windows, obstructions in air vents, excessive heat sources, ventilation fan operation, and air filter cleanliness.
- Moisture or fog from the unit: This can occur due to the reaction of room heat with cool air.
Warning: If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service agent, or a qualified person to avoid hazards.
