Installation
Preparation before Installation
Diagram: Shows a cross-section of the hood with dimensions and parts like 'PC Cache', 'PC Reflector', and 'Spring'. Another diagram shows a circular view of the stainless steel surface with dimensions.
If you have an external outlet, connect your extractor hood using an extraction conduit (flexible tube made from aluminium, enamel, or other non-flammable material with an internal diameter of 150 mm).
Action: Power down the appliance and disconnect from the mains prior to installation.
For optimum results, the extractor hood should be installed at a distance of 65 to 75 cm above the cooking hob.
Note on Negative Pressure: When the extractor hood and appliances powered by sources other than electricity operate simultaneously, the negative pressure in the room must not exceed 4 Pa (4 x 10-5 bar).
Installation (External Outlet)
Diagram: Illustrates the process of mounting the wall bracket.
Make three 8 mm holes for the bracket. Screw and tighten the bracket into the wall using the provided screws and dowels.
Diagram: Shows the hood being lifted to attach to the wall bracket.
Once the hood is suspended on the wall bracket, remove the grease filters. Mark two points inside the hood for safety screw holes. Remove the hood, drill the holes, insert wall dowels, and fix the safety screws using 2 screws (ST4 x 30 mm).
Diagram: Shows the check valve and evacuation tube connection.
Attach the check valve to the air outlet on the extractor hood. Connect the evacuation tube to the check valve.
Installation in the Chimney
Insert the upper chimney into the lower chimney and use two 8 mm ST4 screws to attach them together.
Before fixing the bracket to the chimney, determine the position of the lower chimney bracket and create holes for later attachment.
ℹ️ REMARK: Do not overtighten screws; ensure the upper chimney can be adjusted telescopically after assembly.
Diagram: Shows the decorative upper and lower chimneys and the support bracket.
Installation (Recycling Mode)
Version Recycling: Ask your salesperson for active charcoal filters to convert the hood from evacuation to recycling mode.
Install the Active Charcoal Filter (Cassette)
- Remove the aluminium filter first.
- Open the grating, press the locking device, and pull the filter down.
- Place the active charcoal filter inside and attach by turning anticlockwise.
- Replace the grating.
Install the Active Carbon Filter (Cut Out)
- Remove the aluminium filter first.
- Place the precut filter on top of the aluminium filter.
- Replace the aluminium filter.
Recommendation: Run the hood for a few minutes before cooking and switch it off 15 minutes after cooking to eliminate odours and remove stale air.
ℹ️ NB: Ensure the filter is properly fixed to prevent it from becoming loose and posing a hazard. Installing a carbon filter reduces the hood's extraction power.
Diagram: Shows the filter installation process.
Maintenance
Before cleaning, switch off the unit and unplug it.
I. Regular Cleaning
Use a soft cloth moistened with hand-warm, mildly soapy water or household cleaning detergent. Never use metal pads, chemical, abrasive material, or stiff brushes.
II. Monthly Cleaning for Grease Filter
ESSENTIAL: Cleaning the filter monthly prevents fire risk. The filter collects grease, smoke, and dust, directly affecting the hood's efficiency. Uncleaned filters can become saturated with flammable grease residue.
III. Annual Cleaning for Activated Carbon Filter
Apply SOLELY to units installed as recirculation units (not vented to the outside). This filter traps odours and must be replaced at least once a year, depending on usage frequency.
