Operating Instructions
Unpacking Your Ice Maker
- Remove all exterior and interior packaging. Check that all accessories are included. Contact customer service if any parts are missing.
- Remove all tapes from the unit and take out accessory parts.
- Clean the interior with lukewarm water and a soft cloth.
- Place the ice maker on a level counter, away from direct sunlight and heat sources (stove, furnace, radiator). Ensure at least 6 inches of clearance between the back/sides of the unit and the wall.
- If necessary, level the ice maker by adjusting the four feet at the bottom.
- Allow four hours for the refrigerant fluid to settle before plugging in the unit.
- Ensure the power plug is easily accessible.
[!] WARNING: Fill with potable water only. Use drinking water.
NOTE: Ice makers are tested before shipment; residual water droplets or moisture are normal.
Installation: Condensation Drain Box Installation
Follow these steps to connect the drain pipe:
- Pull up the blue snap ring on the drain outlet (lower left, back of the ice maker).
- Insert one end of the drainpipe firmly into the drain outlet.
- Re-insert the blue snap ring into the drain connector.
- Pull up the blue snap ring on the Drain Box's drain connector.
- Cut the other end of the drainpipe to the desired length, ensuring a straight cut to prevent leakage. Firmly insert about 1/2 inch of the drainpipe into the drain connector on the drain box.
- Re-insert the blue snap ring back into the drain connector.
[!] WARNING: Water drained from this outlet is NON-POTABLE. Empty the drain box when full to prevent overflowing and damage to your countertop or floor.
NOTE: Steps 3-6 can be bypassed if you connect the drainpipe directly to a sink or separate drain bucket. Ensure the drain box/bucket is placed lower than the drain outlet and the drainpipe is not creased.
Plugging In Your Ice Maker
[DANGER]: Improper use of the grounded plug can result in electrical shock. If the power cord is damaged, call customer service.
- This unit must be properly grounded for safety. The power cord has a grounding plug that mates with standard grounding wall outlets to minimize shock risk.
- Plug the appliance into an exclusive, properly installed, grounding wall outlet. Do not damage the plug's grounding means. Consult a certified electrician for any power or grounding questions.
- This appliance requires a standard 110-120Volt, 60Hz electrical outlet.
Function of Control Panel
The control panel features several indicators:
- ① Power on/off: Press and hold for three seconds to turn the unit on or off. All four indicators light up when powered on.
- ② Making Ice indicator: Lights up and stays on when the machine is making ice.
- ③ Ice Full indicator: Lights up and stays on when the ice storage basket is full, stopping the ice-making process.
- ④ Add Water indicator: Flashes and sounds an alarm when the water tank is low. Add water promptly.
- ⑤ Clean indicators: Flash during the self-cleaning shutdown process. They stop flashing once cleaning is complete, and the unit continues its shutdown.
Blue Running Indicators:
- Stays On: The Ice Maker is in the Ice Making Process.
- Flashes with Making Ice indicator: The Ice Maker is discharging ice balls. Do not open the door until this indicator stops flashing.
- Flashes with Clean indicator: The Ice Maker is in the shutdown process, including self-cleaning. This may take up to 10 minutes. Do not cut off power during this time.
Ice Making Operation
[!] WARNING: Before making ice, ensure the ice maker is level. Operating on an uneven surface affects ice ball size and shape. Let the ice maker stand upright for at least 4 hours before plugging it in.
- Connect the ice maker's power supply to a grounded three-prong socket.
- Filling the Water Tank:
- For first-time use or when the "Add water" indicator flashes, open the door and pull out the water tank.
- Open the water tank lid and fill with water up to the MAX line. Close the lid and re-insert the water tank.
- Press and hold the Power on/off button for three seconds to start the ice maker.
- It is recommended not to use the first four ice balls after initial setup or a long period of disuse.
- The ice maker produces 2 ice balls per batch. The initial ice-making cycle takes approximately 2 hours. Subsequent cycles, depending on water and ambient temperature, will take 1-1.5 hours per batch.
- The ice maker stops making ice and enters standby when the "Ice Full" or "Add Water" indicators light up. It will resume operation once these conditions are resolved.
- To turn off the ice maker, press and hold the Power on/off button for three seconds or until a beep is heard. The unit will perform self-cleaning and shutdown for up to 10 minutes before turning off automatically.
NOTE: Ice ball shape and clarity improve after the first or second batch. Cloudy ice balls are normal initially. Ambient temperature, door opening frequency, and water quality affect ice-making time and clarity. Using filtered or purified water is recommended for best results.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Clean the ice maker before first use or after a long period of inactivity. Regular cleaning based on local water quality and usage is recommended.
Avoid solvent-based cleaners, as they can cause damage or leave residues. Use a damp cloth to wipe the interior and exterior.
Regular Maintenance
Deep cleaning is recommended every 9 months, or more often in areas with hard water or high humidity. Follow these steps to remove mineral deposits and ensure longevity:
For disinfection, use a solution of water and vinegar or citric acid (10:1 ratio).
Instructions:
- Always turn off and disconnect the power supply before cleaning.
- Cleaning the Ice Storage Basket and Door:
- Remove the screw securing the ice storage basket and lift it out.
- Align the basket and door with their respective fixing positions and slide them down to detach.
- Remove the ice basket to access the Door Stop. Push the Door Stop to open the door 90° for easier cleaning.
- Cleaning the Water Box:
- Remove the water box cover. Clean the water box with a soft, damp cloth and replace the cover.
- Emptying Excess Water:
- Empty any excess water from the internal water tank through the drain hole located at the bottom front of the ice maker.
- Keep the ice maker upright. Place a water bucket below the drain hole or position the unit over a sink drain, then unplug the drain plug.
- Cleaning the Water Tank:
- Remove the lid.
- Pinch the sides of the tank to open the upper cover.
- Wipe the tank with a soft, damp cloth.
After cleaning, fill the water tank with drinking water, connect the power, turn on the ice maker, discard the first four ice balls, and enjoy the rest.
If the ice maker has not been cleaned for a long time or if there is an odor, follow the cleaning steps above.
Sound During Operation
The following sounds are normal during operation:
- A gurgling sound of refrigerant flow during each cycle.
- The sound of ice balls dropping into the storage basket.
- The sound of cooling fans turning on.
- If the door is accidentally opened while ice balls are being dispensed, a knocking sound may be heard as they fall into the water box cover. If this occurs, ensure the door can be closed after removing any fallen ice.
- The sound of the compressor operating.
In low-temperature environments, fast freezing may cause temporary freezing of the DD transparent device, resulting in abnormal sounds. This is normal; the unit will automatically restore operation after a period.
When shutting down, the ice maker may continue running for 1-10 minutes. The operational sound may still be heard; do not cut off power during this time.
Disposing Your Ice Maker
Dispose of this ice maker's materials in accordance with national regulations.
