The new Coway Classic maintains a similar size and weight to the AP-1008CH, retaining all the smart functions and performance that customers value. With its fresh, modern, and stylish Nordic design, the Coway Classic is an ideal air purifier for homes, workplaces, schools, and other public environments.

The Coway Classic features audible and visual alerts for filter replacement, and all lighting can be manually or automatically turned off to avoid disturbing sleep. Like its predecessor, the Coway Classic uses a three-filter system, but the A3 medium filter has been replaced with a highly effective deodorant filter, which is a granulated carbon filter. This filter excels at handling odors and other unpleasant smells. Another new feature is a child safety lock, which is practical and safe if children are near the air purifier.

Certifications and Quality Assurance

The Coway Classic has undergone a series of laboratory tests to receive recommendations from the Swedish Asthma & Allergy Association and Asthma & Allergy Nordic. Air Quality Indicator

A central LED indicator on the air purifier displays real-time air quality by changing through 4 colors: Blue (clean air), Green (slightly polluted air), Yellow (polluted air), and Red (heavily polluted air).

Wide Air Intake

Air is drawn through the entire perforated front panel, creating efficient airflow, improved purification, and quieter operation.

Auto Mode

Fan speed automatically adjusts to current air quality. It is recommended to use Coway Classic in Auto Mode for the most economical and practical operation.

Dark Room Mode

The unit's buttons and Air Quality Indicator can be turned off manually or automatically. An integrated light sensor detects darkness, and after approximately 5 minutes, the unit's lighting turns off. When light returns, the lighting reactivates after about 5 minutes.

Eco Mode

For air purification with super quiet operation and minimal power consumption, the Coway Classic can run in Eco Mode.

Sleep Mode

If the Coway Classic is in Auto Mode and the room is dark for more than approximately 5 minutes, the unit automatically enters Sleep Mode. This means the unit switches to Eco Mode, and the Air Quality Indicator turns off, allowing the air purifier to be placed in a bedroom without disturbing sleep. It returns to normal operation when the light has been on for about 5 minutes.

Child Safety Lock

With a simple 3-second button press, all buttons on the Coway Classic can be locked, preventing operation. It is just as easy to unlock.

Auto Stop

If the front panel is removed to access the filters, the Coway Classic automatically stops completely.

3-Step Filter System

The Coway Classic features a pre-filter that captures hair and dust. This filter should be vacuumed and rinsed with water regularly and never needs replacement. Behind the pre-filter is a deodorant filter made of activated carbon granules, which effectively filters out odors, cooking smells, and other unpleasant odors. Behind the deodorant filter is the super-efficient HEPA filter, which removes bacteria, microparticles, mold spores, dust mites, pollen, and other harmful substances.

Filter Change Indicator

The Coway Classic indicates when it's time to change filters with an LED light and an audible signal. After filter replacement, the indicator and alarm are reset with a simple button press. HEPA and deodorant filters should be replaced approximately every 12 months, and complete filter sets are available as separate items.

Particle Sensor

The Coway Classic has a sensitive particle sensor that constantly measures air quality in the room. In Auto Mode, fan speed automatically adjusts based on the particle sensor's readings. The particle sensor's sensitivity can be set to 3 levels (High, Medium, or Low), with Medium being the factory setting. The particle sensor should be cleaned regularly with a cotton swab.

Economic & Silent Operation

With a maximum power consumption of 38W (at Turbo fan speed) and smart design, the Coway Classic operates extremely economically, environmentally friendly, and quietly.

Maximum Air Cleaning Level

With its powerful and quiet fan, the Coway Classic can operate at 4 different speeds. In Turbo mode, the Classic can ventilate 4.4 m³ of air per minute (264 m³ of air per hour). Converted to a room with a normal ceiling height of 240 cm, the Coway Classic can purify all air 2 times per hour in a living area equivalent to 55 m².

Albion Nordic's vision and ambition are for the Coway Classic AP-1018F to become the natural replacement for the AP-1008CH, as that model is starting to show its age. There is currently no decision regarding when or if the AP-1008CH will be discontinued from the assortment.
