Connection
For simplicity, the TL-SF1005D model is used as an example throughout this guide.
The TL-SF1005D desktop switch features five Ethernet ports (labeled 1-5) and a power input. A power adapter connects to the switch's power input. The diagram illustrates a typical connection setup:
- Ethernet ports 1 and 2 are shown connecting to individual Personal Computers (PCs).
- Ethernet port 3 is connected to the LAN Port of a Router.
- The Router's WAN Port is connected to the Internet.
- Ethernet ports 4 and 5 are available for additional connections.
This configuration allows all connected devices to access the local network and the internet.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1. The Power LED is not lit.
The Power LED should be lit when the power system is working normally. If the Power LED is not lit, check the following:
- Ensure the power cord is properly connected to the switch and its power source.
- Verify that the voltage of the power supply meets the input voltage requirements of the switch.
- Confirm that the power source is ON.
Q2. The Link/Act LED is not lit when a device is connected to the corresponding port.
It is recommended to check the following items:
- Ensure that the cable connectors are firmly plugged into both the switch and the connected device.
- Verify that the connected device is turned on and functioning correctly.
- Confirm that the Ethernet cable length is less than 100 meters (328 feet).
