Description of Test Setup
Conducted Test Setup Configuration (Client without Radar Detection Mode):
The test setup involved a Vector Generator (SMBV100A), a Companion device (OSP120), a Master device, a Spectrum Analyzer, and a 50 ohm Load. The UUT (Device Under Test) was configured as a Client without radar detection. Radar test signals were injected into the Master Device. The test transmission occurred from the Master Device to the Client Device. The Client device associated with the Master and played an MPEG file. Designated MPEG test file and instructions are available at: http://ntiacsd.ntia.doc.gov/dfs/.
Test Items
DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection)
The report details the applicability of DFS requirements for Master and Client modes, detection thresholds, and response requirements.
- DFS Detection Thresholds: -64 dBm for transmit power ≥ 200 milliwatt, -62 dBm for transmit power < 200 milliwatt.
- DFS Response Requirement Values: Non-occupancy period: Minimum 30 minutes; Channel Availability Check Time: 60 seconds; Channel Move Time: 10 seconds; Channel Closing Transmission Time: 200 milliseconds + aggregate of 60 milliseconds over remaining 10 second period; U-NII Detection Bandwidth: 100% of the UNII transmission power bandwidth.
Radar Signal Parameters: The report specifies parameters for Short Pulse Radar, Long Pulse Radar, and Frequency Hopping Radar test waveforms, including pulse width, PRI, number of pulses, and detection percentages.

Channel Closing Transmission Time | 802.11ac (80 MHz) | 106 | 0.035 | 200 milliseconds + an aggregate of 60 milliseconds over remaining 10 second period. |
Test Verdict: Pass
Non-Occupancy Period: During a 30-minute observation period after UUT power-up, no transmissions were detected in the DFS band.
Graphical Results: Plots are provided showing signal levels over time for various Wi-Fi channels (802.11a and 802.11ac) during DFS testing, illustrating channel shutdown and non-occupancy periods.
