Installation Clearances and Notes
Clearance Requirements:
- Rear: Allow 1" minimum clearance for proper air circulation and water/electrical connections.
- Sides and Top: Allow 3/8" minimum clearance for ease of installation.
- Adjacent to Wall/Cabinet: If installing adjacent to a wall, cabinet, or appliance extending beyond the front edge, a 20" minimum clearance is recommended for optimum 140° door swing, allowing complete crisper access and removal. An absolute 3" minimum clearance will only allow for a 90° door swing, providing limited crisper access with restricted removal.
- Handle Clearance: When installing directly adjacent to a wall, ensure sufficient handle clearance is available for a 90° door opening.
- Door Opening: Allow a minimum of 56" for 90° door opening.
Environmental Considerations:
- To ensure optimum performance, do not install in areas where temperature drops below 55°F or rises above 110°F.
- Avoid installing in direct sunlight or close proximity to ranges, dishwashers, or other heat sources.
- The front grille must remain unobstructed for proper ventilation.
- Recess electrical outlets when possible.
Water Line Requirements:
- Water recess on the rear wall is recommended to prevent water line damage.
- Cold water line must provide between 30 and 100 pounds per square inch (psi).
- Copper tubing with 1/4" O.D. is recommended for the water supply line.
Electrical Requirements:
- An electrical supply with a grounded three-prong receptacle is required.
- The power supply circuit must be installed in accordance with current edition of National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and local codes & ordinances.
- For use on adequately wired 120V, dedicated circuit having 2-wire service with a separate ground wire. Appliance must be grounded for safe operation.
