Precautions

• Please follow local building code and electrical code to install the device.
• Suggest installing the device with the bottom line 45~55 inches (1.2~1.4 meters) above the ground level.
• Please avoid dropping or vigorous vibrating of the device.
• Please keep the device away from strong electromagnetic fields or explosive atmospheres.
• Do not open or install the device in a damp environment.
• Avoid using the device in very low or high temperature environments.
• Recommend sealing the frame or wall gap with silicone or other sealant after installation to avoid inside water leaking.
• Remove the electrostatic adsorption protective plastic film after all installations/configurations to avoid lens cover contamination or scratch.

The warranty does not apply to defects and failures as a result of improper installation. The manufacturer is neither liable for damages caused by theft within an area that is accessible after the attached electric lock is switched. The product is not designed as a burglar protection device except when used in combination with a standard lock. If proper mounting instructions are not met, water might get in and destroy the electronics as the internal circuits are under continuous operation. The manufacturer's warranty shall be void for products damaged in this way.

This guide applies to both GDS3705 and GDS3710, with GDS3710 in the illustrations.

Solid Wall Installation

Please follow below steps to install the device into a solid wall.

Step 1: Prepare the Wall

Use the provided Drill Template to mark the boundary for drilling and cut a circular hole for wiring. (Drilling or digging tools are not provided). Dig a rectangular hole for the plastic box with a depth of approximately 38~43 mm (1.50~1.69 inches), referring to the markings on the template (rotate it to measure if necessary). The template indicates dimensions: 80mm (3.15 inch) width and 193.8mm (7.63 inch) height for the overall area, with a 42mm (1.65 inch) height for the box itself.

Step 2: Mount Bracket to Box

Mount the Installation Bracket into the Plastic Box using the supplied Screws (2) PM3*10mm.

Step 3: Mount Plastic Box

Use the provided Anchor/Screw (1) PA3.5*35mm to mount the Plastic Box inside the dug hole.

Step 4: Remove Back Cover

Remove the frame back cover, which is designed for surface/on-wall installation.

Step 5: Connect Wiring

Follow the GDS37XX Quick Installation Guide (QIG) and User Manual to connect wires to the PoE switch or PoE Injector. Connect the Electrical Lock wiring according to its documentation.

Step 6: Install GDS37XX

Align the GDS37XX unit with the bracket, press, and push it down into place.

Step 7: Install Cover Plate

Install the Cover Plate and fix it using the Anti-Tamper Hex Key with the provided Anti-Tamper Screws (5) PM3*12mm.

Stud Installation

Please follow below steps to install the device at the stud of a new building's open wall, or a finished wall.

Step 1: Prepare Wall Opening

For a finished wall, use the provided Drill Template to mark the boundary and dig a rectangular hole into the wall. For an open wall, skip this step and proceed to the next.

Step 2: Install Metal Frame

Install the Metal Frame with its short edge to the stud using the set of Anchor/Screw (1) PA3.5*35mm provided.

Step 3: Mount Bracket to Box

Mount the Installation Bracket into the Plastic Box using the supplied Screws (2) PM3*10mm.

Step 4: Mount Plastic Box to Frame

Use the provided Screws (3) PM3*12mm and Nuts (4) M3 to install the Plastic Box onto the long edge of the Metal Frame. Either set of Nuts (4) can be used for convenience.

Step 5: Remove Back Cover

Remove the frame back cover, which is designed for surface/on-wall installation.

Step 6: Connect Wiring

Follow the GDS37XX QIG and User Manual to connect wires to the PoE switch or PoE Injector. Connect the Electrical Lock wiring according to its documentation.

Step 7: Install GDS37XX

Align the GDS37XX unit with the bracket, press, and push it down into place.

Step 8: Install Cover Plate

Install the Cover Plate and fix it using the Anti-Tamper Hex Key with the provided Anti-Tamper Screws (5) PM3*12mm.

Drywall (Hollow Wall) Installation

Please follow below steps to install the device on a drywall or hollow wall. The thickness of the wall where the clamps can handle is between 6.2 ~ 24 mm (0.24 ~ 0.94 inch).

Step 1: Cut Drywall Opening

Use the provided Drill Template to mark the boundary and cut an opening on the drywall. Do NOT over-cut. (Wall cutting tools are not provided). The template indicates dimensions: 99.8mm (3.93 inch) width and 193.8mm (7.63 inch) height for the opening.

Step 2: Mount Bracket to Box

Mount the Installation Bracket into the Plastic Box using the supplied Screws (2) PM3*10mm.

Step 3: Insert Plastic Box

Insert the Plastic Box into the cutted hole properly.

Step 4: Secure Plastic Box

Tighten the four clamps alternately in a diagonal pattern to mount the Plastic Box onto the wall. Please do NOT over-tighten to avoid damaging the wall or the clamp.

Step 5: Remove Back Cover

Remove the frame back cover, which is designed for surface/on-wall installation.

Step 6: Connect Wiring

Follow the GDS37XX QIG and User Manual to connect wires to the PoE switch or PoE Injector. Connect the Electrical Lock wiring according to its documentation.

Step 7: Install GDS37XX

Align the GDS37XX unit with the bracket, press, and push it down into place.

Step 8: Install Cover Plate

Install the Cover Plate and fix it using the Anti-Tamper Hex Key with the provided Anti-Tamper Screws (5) PM3*12mm.
