Tip: To quickly unlock a transmitter: Press enter twice, select None, and press enter.
IR Sync
Use IR Sync to form an audio channel between the transmitter and receiver. Note: The receiver band must match the transmitter band.
- Select a receiver channel.
- Tune the channel to an available frequency using group scan or manually.
- Power on the transmitter.
- Press the SYNC button on the receiver.
- Align the IR windows between the transmitter and receiver so the IR LED illuminates red. When complete, “Sync Success!” appears.
Note: Any change to the encryption status on the receiver requires a sync to send settings to the transmitter. New encryption keys are generated on every IR sync.
Updating Firmware
Firmware is embedded software that controls functionality. New firmware versions are developed periodically to incorporate additional features and enhancements. You can upload and install new firmware versions using the Shure Update Utility, available for download from http://www.shure.com/.
Firmware Versioning:
- Download firmware to the receiver first, then update transmitters to the same version for consistent operation.
- Firmware numbering format: MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH (e.g., 1.2.14). All devices on the network must have the same MAJOR and MINOR version numbers (e.g., 1.2.x).
Updating the Transmitter:
- Download firmware to the receiver.
- Access receiver menu: Device Configuration > Tx Firmware Update.
- Align IR ports between transmitter and receiver. Ports must remain aligned for the entire download (approx. 50 seconds or longer).
- Press ENTER on the receiver to begin the download. The receiver will display the update progress as a percentage.
