  2. Connect receiver to mixer or amplifier. Hold power button to turn on.
[Diagram: An illustration showing the receiver connected via an audio cable to a mixer or amplifier. A hand is shown pressing the power button on the receiver.]
  3. Press group button on receiver to perform a group scan.
[Diagram: Close-up of the receiver's front panel, highlighting the 'Group' button being pressed. An arrow indicates the action.]
  4. Install batteries and turn on transmitter.
[Diagram: Illustration showing the battery compartment of a transmitter being opened, batteries being inserted, and the transmitter being closed and powered on.]
  5. On the transmitter, set the group and channel to match the receiver. The audio LED on the receiver should illuminate.
[Diagram: Shows a transmitter display with group and channel settings (e.g., 'A' and '1'). Another diagram shows the receiver's 'Audio LED' illuminated, indicating a successful connection.]

If setting up additional systems, leave the first transmitter and receiver on. For each additional receiver, manually set the group to match the first receiver. Note: The receiver will automatically perform a channel scan to find an available frequency after the group has been selected. Set the transmitter frequency to match the receiver.

If sound is too faint or distorted, adjust the gain accordingly.

Tips to Improve Wireless System Performance

If interference or dropouts occur, try:

Getting Good Sound

Correct Microphone Placement

[Diagram: Two illustrations of microphone placement. One shows correct placement with a checkmark (✔️), the other incorrect placement with a cross (❌).]

Wearing the Headworn Microphone

[Diagram: Illustration showing a headworn microphone positioned correctly near the mouth, with a measurement of 13 mm (0.5 in.).]

Adjusting Gain

Monitor audio LED on receiver front panel.

BLX1

Rotate audio gain adjustment to increase (+) or decrease (-) gain. For instruments, use minimum gain. For lavaliers, increase gain as desired.

[Diagram: Shows the BLX1 transmitter with the gain adjustment dial indicated.]

BLX2

Features two gain settings: default and attenuated (-10 dB). Default is for most situations. If receiver audio LED flickers red often, set to attenuated. Use channel button to change gain.

  1. Hold channel button for 5 seconds. A dot appears on lower right of LED display, indicating -10 dB gain.
  2. To revert to default, hold channel button for 5 seconds until dot disappears.
[Diagram: Shows the BLX2 transmitter display with a dot indicating the -10 dB setting.]

Batteries

Expected life for AA batteries: up to 14 hours. Low battery indicated by red LED (~60 mins remaining).

For alkaline batteries only. For rechargeable batteries, solid red means dead.

To remove batteries from handheld transmitter: push out through battery compartment opening.

[Diagram: Illustration showing how to push batteries out of the BLX2 battery compartment.]

WARNING: Battery packs shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire, or the like.

Wearing the Bodypack Transmitter

Clip transmitter to belt or guitar strap as shown. For best results, belt should press against clip base.

[Diagram: Two illustrations showing how to clip the bodypack transmitter to a belt or guitar strap.]

Power Off

Hold power button to power off BLX2 or BLX4/88. Slide power toggle switch to OFF for BLX1.

Removing and Installing Identification Caps
