Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Atomos Ninja. Experience unmatched flexibility thanks to its expansion port, the built-in HDMI 2.0 I/O, and its extensive recording capabilities in various industry-standard codecs. The daylight-viewable 1000 Nit screen allows you to confidently monitor your shots while showcasing the redesigned Atomos 11 interface in all its glory. Combining Ninja with the optional Atomos Connect accessory allows access to advanced cloud-based workflows, while AtomX CAST turns it into a compact 4-input HDMI switcher. - HDMI Cable: Atomos offers a range of HDMI cables with die cast connectors and coiled cables in various lengths and connections.
Connect and Power-up
Battery
The Ninja has a single battery slot. To connect a compatible battery, place the battery in front of the retaining lug, align with the connectors, and slide the battery into the lock position. Atomos recommends using Atomos NP-F series batteries.
To connect the supplied Battery Eliminator, follow the same procedure and lock it into position. Once the Battery Eliminator is in place, attach the supplied USB-C PD to DC Adapter cable to it via the DC Barrel connector and plug the USB-C connector into a compatible USB PD power adapter or power bank (Output: 30W minimum).
Alternatively, the Ninja can also be powered from a compatible D-Tap power source by using the optional D-Tap battery cable (ATOMDTPCB1).
Touching the battery icon in the top right of your screen allows you to accurately see remaining battery life. Refer to the User Manual for more information.
Expansion Port
The Ninja features a built-in Expansion Port that provides added functionality when paired with optional accessories like Atomos Connect, AtomX CAST, AtomX SDI, and AtomX SYNC.
Hardware Features

A. On/Off and Screen Lock
To turn the Ninja on, press the power button on the side of the unit. To shut down, hold the button for at least 4 seconds (until the unit turns off).

B. Remote Control/LANC and Calibration
The Ninja screen can be calibrated using the X-Rite i1Display Pro. Connection requires a USB to serial cable (ATOMCAB004). The remote port can also be used for remote camera control of Z Cam E2 cameras via the optional USB-C to serial cable (ATOMCAB018).

C. HDMI In/Out
The HDMI input connection supports up to 4Kp60 video and 6Kp30 RAW inputs. The HDMI Output connection provides a live loop out or play-out in Playback mode up to 4Kp60 video.

D. Battery Release Button
Press and slide the battery away from the unit to remove.

E. Tally Light
The Red Tally Light on the rear of the unit indicates active recording. The Tally Light can be turned off in the menu options.

F. Disk Slot
Compatible with Master Caddy II & III media and AtomX SSDmini.

G. Screw Mounts + Locking Pin Holes (Arri)
Features a 3/8” screw hole with a 1/4” adapter, located on the top and bottom.

H. Expansion Port
Provides added functionality when paired with optional accessories like Atomos Connect, AtomX CAST, AtomX SDI, and AtomX SYNC.

Safety Instructions
The Ninja is designed to a high standard, but it's important to be aware of certain points to prolong the unit's life and ensure your safety.
Using the Ninja Safely
Although the Ninja is lightweight compared to the devices it replaces, it is a solid object that could cause injury if misused.
- Always ensure the Ninja is mounted securely and cannot fall onto anyone nearby. This is crucial when children are present who might be tempted to pull on cables.
- Always ensure cables running to the Ninja are clearly visible and do not present a trip hazard.
- Do not place the unit on uneven or unstable surfaces.
- Only insert a Ninja Master Caddy II/III or AtomX SSDmini into the drive slot on the rear of the Ninja.
- Do not touch the Ninja screen with sharp, metallic, or abrasive objects.
- Do not expose the unit to strong electrical or magnetic fields.
- Do not expose the unit to liquids, rain, or moisture.
- Do not dispose of the Ninja in municipal waste or incinerate it; always follow local regulations for safe disposal.

International Hardware Limited Warranty
Atomos warrants that:
- The main product, excluding the IPS screen or any external accessories, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase, upon completion of product registration within 1 year from the date of purchase at www.Atomos.com.
- The TFT/LCD, batteries, case, and master caddies will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase, regardless of registration. This warranty is exclusively for the benefit of the original purchaser and is not assignable or transferable.
If the product is shown to be defective during the warranty period, Atomos may, at its option:
- a) replace the goods or supply equivalent ones,
- b) repair the goods,
- c) pay the cost of replacing the goods or acquiring equivalent ones, and
- d) pay the cost of having the goods repaired.
The customer must notify Atomos of any defect in writing prior to the expiry of the warranty periods. The customer is solely responsible for returning the goods to Atomos or its authorized distributor. Upon acceptance of a warranty claim, Atomos will be responsible for reasonable shipping costs incurred in sending the repaired or replaced goods to the customer, provided the customer is located in a country where Atomos has an authorized distributor or repair center.

Warranty Exclusions
This warranty applies only to defects in workmanship and does not cover defects caused by:
- Failure to comply with Atomos' operating instructions.
- Neglect.
- Improper or negligent acts or omissions.
- Unauthorized repairs or attempted repairs.
- Tampering with or modification of the goods.
- Connection to incompatible equipment or power sources.
- Exposure to water or weather.
- Exposure to magnetic fields or corrosive liquids or substances.
EXCEPT AS STATED IN THIS WARRANTY, Atomos, ITS VENDORS, AGENTS, RESELLERS, AND DISTRIBUTORS DISCLAIM ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE REMEDIES OUTLINED ARE THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR DEFECTIVE GOODS. Atomos DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE GOODS WILL OPERATE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED. Software License Agreement
IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS IS A LICENSE AGREEMENT.
This Atomos software, related documentation, sample images, and other files (the "Software") are protected by copyright laws and international treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws. The Software is licensed, not sold.
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you (an individual or entity) and Atomos regarding the copyrighted Software provided with this EULA. Use of the Software constitutes acceptance of these terms, unless separate terms are provided by the software supplier. If you do not agree with the terms of this EULA, do not download, install, copy, or use the Software. By installing, copying, or otherwise using the Software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If you do not agree, Atomos is unwilling to license the Software to you.
- Eligible Licensees: This Software is available for license solely to purchasers of the Atomos Ninja, manufactured by Atomos and purchased through an Atomos authorized reseller, with no right of duplication or further distribution, licensing, or sub-licensing.
- License Grant: Atomos grants you a personal, non-transferable, and non-exclusive right to use the copy of the Software provided with this EULA. You agree not to copy the Software except as necessary for use with the Atomos Ninja. You may not copy the accompanying written materials. Modifying, reverse engineering, translating, renting, copying, transferring, or assigning all or part of the Software or any rights granted hereunder to any other persons, or reverse engineering the hardware on which the Software runs, is strictly prohibited. The software is licensed, not sold. You acknowledge that no title to intellectual property in the Software is transferable to you. Title and full ownership rights to the Software remain the exclusive property of Atomos and/or its suppliers. All copies of the software will contain the same proprietary notices as contained in or on the Software. All title and copyrights in and to the Software (including but not limited to images, animations, video, audio, text), the accompanying printed materials, and any copies of the Software are owned by Atomos or its suppliers.
- Reverse Engineering: You agree not to attempt, and if you are a corporation, to use best efforts to prevent your employees and contractors from attempting to reverse compile, derive circuits, modify, translate, or disassemble the Software and/or the Atomos Ninja in whole or in part. Failure to comply with these terms will result in the automatic termination of this license and the reversion of rights granted by Atomos. Atomos reserves the right to terminate this license without prejudice to any additional recourse if you violate any of its terms and conditions.
