Please read the following precautions carefully to avoid personal injury, damage to the instrument, or other property damage.
For the AC Adapter
WARNING:
- This AC adapter is exclusively for use with Yamaha electronic musical instruments. Do not use it for any other purpose.
- For indoor use only. Do not use in humid environments.
CAUTION:
- When setting up, ensure the AC outlet is easily accessible. If any problems or malfunctions occur, immediately turn off the instrument and unplug the AC adapter from the outlet. Note that when the AC adapter is plugged in, the instrument consumes a small amount of power even when turned off. If you do not plan to use the instrument for an extended period, be sure to unplug the power cord from the outlet.
For the Instrument
WARNING: Always observe the following precautions to prevent serious injury or even fatal accidents due to electric shock, short circuits, fire, or other hazards. These precautions are not exhaustive:
Power Supply / AC Adapter
- Do not place the power cord near heat sources such as heaters or radiators. Protect the cord from excessive kinking or other damage, and do not place heavy objects on it.
- Connect the instrument only to the AC voltage specified on the instrument. The required voltage is printed on the instrument's rating plate.
- Use only the specified adapter (Page 10). Using an inadequate adapter may cause damage or overheating of the instrument.
- Regularly check the condition of the AC plug and remove any accumulated dirt or dust.
Do Not Open!
- This instrument contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open the instrument or remove or alter any internal components. If a malfunction occurs, immediately take it out of operation and have it inspected by a qualified Yamaha service technician.
Caution with Water
- Be careful not to get the instrument wet from rain, do not use it near water or in humid or wet environments, and do not place containers (such as vases, bottles, or glasses) with liquids on it that could spill and flow into openings. If a liquid such as water gets into the instrument, immediately turn off the power supply and unplug the power cord from the outlet. Then have the instrument inspected by a qualified Yamaha service technician.
- Never plug in or unplug the AC plug with wet hands.
Fire Prevention
- Do not place any burning objects (e.g., candles) on the instrument. A burning object could fall over and cause a fire.
Effects on Electro-Medical Devices
- Magnetic fields can affect electro-medical devices. Do not use this device near medical equipment or in areas where radio frequency radiation is prohibited. Maintain a minimum distance of 15 cm (6 inches) between the product and individuals with pacemakers or defibrillators when using this product.

- Observe the following precautions. Failure to do so may result in explosion, fire, or battery leakage.
- Do not tamper with or disassemble batteries.
- Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
- Do not expose batteries to high temperatures, such as direct sunlight or fire.
- Never attempt to recharge batteries that are not designed for multiple use and recharging.
- Do not store batteries together with metallic objects such as necklaces, hairpins, coins, and keys.
- Use only the specified battery types (Page 10).
- Use new batteries, all of the same type, model, and manufacturer.
- Always ensure that all batteries are inserted according to the polarity markings (+/-).
- If the batteries are depleted or you do not plan to use the instrument for an extended period, remove the batteries from the instrument.
- When using NiMH batteries, follow the instructions supplied with the batteries. Use only the specified charger for recharging.
- Keep batteries away from small children who might accidentally swallow them.
- If batteries leak, avoid any contact with the leaked fluid. If the battery fluid comes into contact with eyes, mouth, or skin, wash immediately with water and consult a doctor. Battery fluid is corrosive and can cause loss of eyesight or chemical burns.
