IKEA Distribution Services Multi-stakeholder Policy

IKEA Distribution Services Multi-stakeholder Policy

IKEA aims to provide a more comfortable everyday life and create a positive impact globally through its products and ideas, supporting a sustainable home life.

To achieve this, IKEA Distribution Services is committed to fostering positive relationships with customers, co-workers (employees), business partners (suppliers), and communities. The company strives for a better home, a better life, a better planet, and a better company. Revenue and achievements generated will be shared with co-workers and business partners, contributing to sustainable growth and ensuring appropriate distribution.

1. Employee Benefits

IKEA Distribution Services is built upon sincere and forward-thinking individuals who share a common vision. An environment where employees feel vibrant, accepted, and can learn something new every day empowers each person to create change. The company believes that sustainable business growth, improved productivity, and maximized added value are realized through employee growth. Revenue and achievements from business growth are utilized for appropriate wage increases, support for stable living, and various welfare programs designed to foster a supportive work environment. Efforts are also focused on learning (training) and development to enhance employee engagement and productivity.

Specifics:

  • Fair compensation and working conditions are provided, supporting employees' work-life balance across different life stages.
  • A diverse and inclusive workplace is ensured, offering equal opportunities to everyone.
  • A learning culture that reflects IKEA's values is fostered, enabling employees to grow in various ways.
  • Wage increases are implemented annually based on year-end performance reviews, irrespective of age, gender, or employment type.
  • As of January 2025, the minimum wage was raised, and the salary review and adjustment mechanism was improved. Salary adjustments were also made to reflect wage increase rates in the Japanese labor market.
  • Learning opportunities include comprehensive onboarding (new employee training), leadership training, the "My learning" tool for co-workers, and free access to external learning resources.
  • Regular dialogues between co-workers and managers are held annually to review job performance, discuss areas for growth, and plan future career paths.
  • The "OPEN IKEA" internal job posting system allows co-workers to choose their next challenges based on their life stage and motivation, including opportunities for transfers and promotions.

2. Consideration for Business Partners

IKEA Distribution Services will continue to work towards compliance with the Partnership Building Declaration.

Should the Partnership Building Declaration portal site be discontinued, IKEA Distribution Services will voluntarily withdraw this Multi-stakeholder Policy.

The company is also working to build appropriate relationships by referring to its thinking regarding compliance with consumption tax regulations for tax-exempt businesses and their suppliers, including the invoice system.

The company will continue to confirm the status of these initiatives and steadily advance its efforts.
