Product Overview

The Carrier OptiClean negative air machine is a portable solution designed to help convert normal hospital rooms into Airborne Infectious Isolation Rooms (AIIR). It operates at a minimum of 500 CFM or a maximum of 1500 CFM. Designed to comply with ASHRAE's Standard 170 for Ventilation of Health Care Facilities, the OptiClean utilizes a 99.97% efficient filter and a heavy-duty, quiet motor to remove contaminated air from a room. This creates negative air pressure, or a "vacuum effect," which helps contain airborne contaminants. When negative pressure is not required, such as in temporary open-air hospitals, the machine functions as an air "scrubber," cleaning and discharging air back into the space.

Note: Airflow is based upon a clean pre-filter at 115V with a factory-approved HEPA filter. Airflow and pressure are measured with a 10' flex duct installed.

Additional Product Details

Pre-Installed Filters

• The Carrier OptiClean comes with a minimum MERV 7 pre-filter and a HEPA filter pre-installed.
• Pre-filter Replacement: Recommended every 60-90 days. Available through Totaline®.
• HEPA Filter Life: Approximately 40,000 hours (four years) under normal negative air machine operation and maintenance. Filter life may be reduced in air scrubber applications.

Multi-Function Control Panel

• On/Off Switch: Green indicator illuminates when the unit is on.
• Filter Alert: Red indicator light signals when filters need checking or replacement.
• Pressure Indicator: Compares room/ambient pressure to internal pressure behind the HEPA filter. Triggers the red indicator light when filters are dirty.
• Three-Speed Selector Switch: (015 size only) Allows adjustment for low, medium, and high airflow ranges.

Assembly Requirements

• Locking casters and the round or oval duct transition assembly are shipped with each unit.
